Automatic Transmission problems of the 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 - part 2

The first time was in December 04 my truck went out of park while running and backed into a wall. March 22 it backed into a rock wall and damaged the side.

I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 cummin diesel pick up,when I put into park with motor running I left the truck to check on a wreak my pick up rolled back into a tractor trailer causing damage to the rear corner panel of my truck. I know there is a recall for this reason but from all of the complaints with the alarm I don't know if I want to do it. I would like a recall to get this fixed so I wont be out another $3500. 00 to fix my truck,it would be nice to get reimburse.

2004 Dodge Ram 2500 4wd. Purchased vehicle November 2004. Upon drive home, at speeds of 60 mph and above, a vibration throughout the vehicle was felt. Contacted local dealer who kept the truck for 2 days. After second day of test driving, 70 miles put on by dealer, was told that complaint could not be duplicated. I was told by servicing dealer that it was something that I had to deal with. This vibration is beginning to cause unsafe driving conditions at these speeds. The condition needs to be corrected before somebody gets hurt.

The truck was parked when it suddenly began to roll backwards. The driver attempted to get in the truck while it was moving but the door knocked him down and the truck ran over his right leg and arm. The driver sustained massive bruises and later developed an infection. The manufacturer was notified about the incident.

While the vehicle was running in park, the vehicle slipped out of the park. The vehicle rolled backwards and crossed the highway and hit two poles causing major damage.

Consumer turned vehicle off and put it in park, got out, and walked to the back of vehicle, and it jumped out of park into reverse, knocking consumer down and rolled over him, killing the consumer. Reported by richard gatewood. Updated 04/17/06.

Dear sirs I have a 2004 Dodge desiel pickup 3\4 ton bought new last December. Current mileage is 13,000. It has gone from park to reverse twice. Last time had to cut it out of the cedar trees. I had got out and went around to the mail box on the other side. On the way back pickup took off. . . Dodge company says that I should turn off the engine and set the emergency brake whenever I leave the truck. I live on a ranch with a half a dozen gates to get out and open. It just doesn't make sense to turn on and off a desiel that many times aday. If you could provide me with any suggestions, would be truly appreciated. . . Thank you. Sincerely hazelle calcote.

2004 Dodge Ram 2500 was parked with the emergency brake on when the vehicle jumped out of park and rolled backwards into a dump truck. The transmission has acted funny ever since consumer got the truck. Talked to 2 different service men , their reply was that this is a new and different transmission. See 10092748 also.

I parked the truck and got out to close a gate when I turned around the truck had slipped into reverse and was coming toward me. Fortunately, I was able to get out of the way. The truck ran into a fence post damaging the driver's side mirror and denting the front drivers side fender.

Purchased Dodge ran 2500 2004 4wd hemi new in January of 2004 and found a vibration in drive train and coming through the steering wheel and see the vibration through the rear view mirror as distortion. I have unsuccesfully have got a fix from my dealership after repeated attempts to have them fix the problem. The problem is getting worse. I do not like having a vibration like this at 60 + miles per hour. This is a hazard. Put the truck into 4wd and the whole front end shakes when turning the wheels and hard to get back into 2 wd from low 4wd. The cadaletic converter went out at 900 miles. The trouble with vibration is still ongoing at this date 10/13/04.

While the vehicle was running but in the parked position, it automatically slipped into reverse. This incident has happened twice. The consumer had to run and jam the brakes to stop the vehicle. The consumer took the vehicle to the dealer, who stated there was nothing wrong.

Consumer complaint concerning 2004 Dodge Ram 2500's out of park alarm. Recall number 05v462000.

Consumer letter concerning the safety recall to install an out of park alarm system. ***** when the consumer arrived at the dealership, she was told the recall could take up to week, however the recall notice stated it would take an hour.

Ltr re defective shift lever for 2004 Dodge 2500 quad cab, concerned that a safety recall service notice for an out of park alarm system for 2003-2005 attempts to fix transmission or shift lever problem in his vehicle. The consumer stated he placed the gear into park with the motor running, the consumer returned to the front of the vehicle, when all of a sudden the vehicle started to roll backwards. The consumer attempted to stop the vehicle, but slid off due to ice and the door knocked him to the ground, while the vehicle continued to roll backwards. The consumer requested that the recall be completed on his vehicle, however he stated the manufacturer refused to install the necessary equipment to complete the recall. The seat belt didn't retract fully.

2004 Dodge 2500 gear shifted out of park and into reverse and the vehicle ran into a pallet of tile. The truck was running when this happened. The vehicle right rear fender was damaged.
