Nine problems related to front suspension have been reported for the 2007 Dodge Ram 2500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I understand Chrysler has finally admitted to the "death wobble" 2003-2011 problem. My concern is, this has been a problem since the mid 1990 models and now we who own and maintain those models are left out and are still having the problems. It was their problem in the beginning and they refused to correct it. I, at my expense had the problem repaired in 2010 and once again the problem continues people are still driving the older models and are still at risk. A Dodge will last forever if it is taken care of, that in mind Dodge should recall all the 90's models also, it is not right. People can die in accidents involving the older vehicle. Also!!! how many accidents, that may have resulted in death have there been as a result of this problem. How many involved vehicles in the 1990 range before Dodge finally admitted to the problem. All the vehicles with a history of the problem should be recalled.
2007 Dodge 2500 diesel [death wobble] when coming to a bridge or lip in the road at higway speed vehicle starts jumping violently until speed is reduce.
Front end wobble/vibration during moderate speed driving. After accelerating to 55-60 mph, front end begins to wobble and shake-- sometimes violently to interfere and cause vehicle to become unstable at speed. Reducing speed helps but only some. Have had front end aligned, re-aligned, new tires, new shocks, etc but no repair has completely fixed the problem.
When coming to a bridge or lip in the road at highway speeds vehicle starts jumping violently until speed is reduced.
I have a 2007 Dodge 2500 diesel with the dreaded death wobble. My truck has 46000 miles on it, never been in an accident, and in 290 mile traveled in the last 36 hours, the wobble happened 8 times. This is something Dodge has "never herd of" [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I have a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 mega cab diesel. I am the second owner and have had the truck for about 5 months. I have what is most commonly referred to as the "death wobble" or "death shake". I have taken the truck to Dodge and paid to have them fix the problem only to be told there is nothing wrong with the truck. The truck is completely stock with the exception of the after market replacement shocks I had put on to hopefully fix the problem. The shocks did nothing to fix the violent shaking. Basically, when I get the truck up to around 60 mph and hit any small bump or pot hole or anything like that on the roadway the truck begins to shake violently and makes loud knocking noises. To get the shaking to stop I have to reduce my speed to around 30 to 35 mph. Obviously it is not safe to have to do this on a freeway or any other highway for that matter. It is a major safety issue and I am just waiting for the time when the truck causes me to crash. I bought the truck as a family vehicle and my wife won't even ride in it because it is that bad. I don't even like to put my children in the vehicle because of this issue. I explained all this to Dodge and they directed my to this website saying that they could do nothing for me. I've done a lot of research and there are a lot of other Dodge owners with the same issue. So much so that there are forums dedicated specifically to just this issue. I also found several videos on you tube where Dodge owners have video taped their trucks doing the same thing. I know you tube probably isn't the type of website your agency likes to use for researching issues but it shows exactly what is going on. Some of the videos actually show how Dodge owners with this problem have just left the dealership after paying to have replacement parts put on their trucks that they were told they needed only to have the same problem when they get back on the road. Being that Dodge is unwilling to assist me in any way I would like to lodge a complaint.
Death wobble coming from front end of truck. Just started happening when I drive on bumpy roads. Causes coolant splash all over the engine. Almost causes me to loose control of the truck and could cause a serious accident.
I just bought a 2007 Dodge diesel 4x4 with 9k miles and while driving from phx to albq my truck did the wobble 3 times. It was scary and people are going to die. Please do something about it!.
My 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 goes into "death wobble" at speeds higher than 65 mph. When the truck is traveling on the highway it will start to rattle the front end to a point that you feel as though you are riding on a "square tire". Extremely dangerous!!!! apparently this is common knowledge to Chrysler management and staff. . . However, nothing has been done to correct the problem. When I first experienced the problem I took the vehicle to two different Dodge dealers to essentially be told by the service managers that the vehicle was perfectly fine and that I probably needed to buy new tires! this problem is obviously more serious than new tires. . . It is my hopes that someone can raise a red flag to the issue before a serious injury or death occurs as a result of this factory defect.
