1 Power Steering Failed problem

Failure Date: 10/28/2013

The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated that the vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 13v528000 (steering) the contact also stated that one month prior to receiving the recall, the power steering assist failed. The manufacture was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 59,355.

2 Power Steering Failed problem

Failure Date: 08/19/2012

The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving 78 mph, the power steering assist failed without warning. The contact mentioned that he lost control of the vehicle, causing him to crash into a pole. The vehicle was not destroyed and there were no injuries reported. The dealer was notified of the failure who advised him to contact the manufacturer. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who advised the contact that the main steering bar was fractured and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. The failure mileage was 42,430.

3 Power Steering Failed problem

Failure Date: 02/07/2008

The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph, the power steering assist failed without warning. The failure recurred three times over a period of three years. The vehicle was towed from the site but had not been taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the problem and stated that the part needed to repair the vehicle would not become available until February or March. The approximate failure mileage was 146,000.
