The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Ram 2500. While driving at various speeds with the cruise control activated, the vehicle accelerated independently when the brake pedal was depressed to deactivate the cruise control. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the brake pedal switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. In addition, the contact stated that a load noise was present coming from the front end of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the track arm assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 18,000.
1. Check engine light came on 4 sept 2014 brought it to dealership they cleared the code and gave me the truck back because the code did not return while it was in their possession. 2. This same issure has occured 4 more times since that date and the problem has not be resolved, each time they did something different, ie replaced a dosing unit, replaced the nox sensor and now as of 15 oct 2014 are preparing to replace the ecm or brains of the truck. The truck has been in the more than in my possession for the same exact problem since 5 sept 2014. 3. Vehicle has vibration between 60 to 80 mph, has been back to the dealership on the day I purchased and also multiple times after that, and problem still has not been corrected by ram. 3 tires have been replaced and now the service manager says "it operates as designed", although the manager also states that he feels the wobble/vibration between those speeds as well. 4. I have begun the lemon law process and have received a claim number but Chrysler has not yet called me back.
While traveling on milled pavement at 60mph the truck hit a bump and began to 'death wobble' causing the front axle to make contact with multiple suspension parts. The truck continued to wobble violently as I slowed, once I hit 30mph the truck stopped wobbling. The truck ever since has had a highway speed vibration that shakes the whole cab and seats. I photographed areas of contact 1. Front differential cover made contact with the track bar mount. 2. Trackbar on passenger side made contact with spring holder. 3 passenger side trailing arm made contact with the frame. Dealership immediately stated there was no defect with the truck, and reluctantly changed the steering stabilizer. The truck continues to vibrate and after a swap of all four firestone tires under warranty the vehicle still has a vibration that ram refuses now to work on. I have inspected the driveshafts myself and videoed what appears to be about 1/8'' runout and the dealership stated if I attempted to have the driveshaft inspected by a 3rd party my warranty will be voided. The vehicle has been in the shop about 48 days since August and has not been fixed.
