3 Front Suspension Stabilizer Bar problem of the 2008 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 10/03/2011

I was I-77 in wv and hit a bridge expansion joint at approx. 70 m. P. H. The truck front suspension began to shake violently. The front tires and steering wheel began to shake/bounce uncontrollably. It did this for aprox 20 sec. While I tried to stop the truck slowly and safely. Internet research revealed this is a common problem with Dodge 2500 pickups. It has been given the name ã‚death wobbleã‚쳜. I returned it to the dealer where they deny any knowledge of the problem and after inspection determined that the incident busted both front shocks and stabilizer bar. It was not covered by factory or extended warranty. I had 2 new shocks & stabilizer installed and the front end re-inspected and serviced, lined and balanced the tires as directed by dealer insp. Results. I drove less than 10 miles and the truck done the ã‚death wobbleã‚쳜 again. They now suggest the tracking bar failure but state that the whole front suspension may be damaged due to a poor design and the violent vibration that occurred during the incidents. Again the warranties are refusing coverage. The techs refused to release the truck back to me to drive for safety reasons. They feel it is not safe to operate in this condition. This truck remains in stock condition. Installing 285/70/16 tires 10 ply tires for safety concerns. The stock tires were too small for an 8000 lbs. Pickup that tows occasionally. Due to the seriously neglected safety concern by Dodge, I will be trading this truck off when I get it fixed. Dodge knows there is problems please ã‚step upã‚쳜 and make them address this issue before someone get hurt or killed.

5 Front Suspension Stabilizer Bar problem of the 2008 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 06/01/2010

I own a 2005 and a 2008 Dodge diesel 4x4,automatic trans. Ive had to replace both stabilizer bars and links as well as all the other bars running across the front of the trucks. Ive already replaced the linkage and steering box on the 08 due to loss of steering involving an accident. I now have the steering gear and linkage going out on the 05. The dealership says theres no recall on my problems. Funny how its happening w. Both trucks. The 05 had about 50,000 when the problems stared occuring and the 08 started at approx. 2,000 mi, my shop had told me my wheel bearings were already getting worn and needed replacing soon in the 08, and its still new!! the tranny has been rebuilt in the 05 at 50,000. The 08 has been in the shop at least 5 times already and now has 14,000 on it. Im sure spending alot of money on both trucks with the same problems I wish someone woulod look into these issues. Its pretty strange both trucks have the same problems. Dodge acknowledges these problems but tells me I still have to pay for itbecause theyre using better parts that are more costly. If im paying for it anyway I might as well take them to another shop I trust. I wouldnt advise anyone to buy a Dodge. Nothing but a headache and im going broke! ive lost my faith and am scared to even take my children to school!.

7 Front Suspension Stabilizer Bar problem of the 2001 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 08/09/2006

My truck only has 39k miles and was having severe issues with steering wobble and steering wandering. The steering stabilizer and track bar was replaced by the dealer but stills has play in the steering. Although not currently under warranty these parts should not fail at 39k miles of highway driving.

9 Front Suspension Stabilizer Bar problem of the 2004 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 10/01/2005

2004 Dodge 2500 4x4 4 door automatic. The problem is when I am driving around 60 or 65 and hit a bump in the road the front end shakes out of control until I slow down to less than 35 or 40 then it stops. I have replaced tires, ball joints, and stabilizers bars, put some sort of heavy duty stabilizer shock on the front end the dealer could not find any thing wrong every time they test drove it. I finally asked if someone from the dealer could ride with me to see what the truck dose at 60 mph. A mechanic rode with me driving at about 62 mph we drove across the seam at the beginning of a bridge and the front end let loose. The reaction from the Dodge mechanic was just short of panic. He then drove it and it did the same thing. Back at the dealership he told the service manager I have no idea what that could be I thought the front end was falling off. This problem has been going on for at least three years and about 55,000 miles. I hope you can help thanks for your time.

13 Front Suspension Stabilizer Bar problem of the 2000 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 08/01/2000

Since we purchased this van, we have not been able to control the steering on the highway. It sways constantly and the steering mechanism is unable to counteract this. It literally is all over the road with the slightest bit of wind. We have a stabilizer bar installed in the front. It is dangerous to drive on the highway and must be kept in the outer most lane so it will not sway into the guard rail or another vehicle. The dealer has looked it over and has not been able to find any defects. Nonetheless, we purchased it to transport our youth group and other groups in the church to and from events. Members are becoming more and more hesitant to use it.
