1 Front Suspension problem of the 2007 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 08/25/2011

I understand Chrysler has finally admitted to the "death wobble" 2003-2011 problem. My concern is, this has been a problem since the mid 1990 models and now we who own and maintain those models are left out and are still having the problems. It was their problem in the beginning and they refused to correct it. I, at my expense had the problem repaired in 2010 and once again the problem continues people are still driving the older models and are still at risk. A Dodge will last forever if it is taken care of, that in mind Dodge should recall all the 90's models also, it is not right. People can die in accidents involving the older vehicle. Also!!! how many accidents, that may have resulted in death have there been as a result of this problem. How many involved vehicles in the 1990 range before Dodge finally admitted to the problem. All the vehicles with a history of the problem should be recalled.

3 Front Suspension problem of the 2008 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 08/04/2011

Death wobble on an 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 crew cab long bed. I thas recently happened six times and does not stop until the truck is almost to a stop. Went into other lane once causing other drivers to avoid collision. Just recently have had the truck over 65 mph. Drove 75 mph on I -80 to CO, and then to coast of CA. Death wobble has happened at speeds of 30 mph to 70 mph. The front end wobbles slightly on small bumbs which puts you on edge thinking it will go into a violent wobble immediately at normal highway speeds, or below. There is no visible damage to any parts in the front end and alignment seems fine. No solution had yet been found.

This has happened numerous times and I have gone off the road due to the unability to steer the vehicle. I have replaced the steering stabilizer, front shocks. Tires and still have not been able to correct the problem. Other drivers have wittnessed the tire shaking violently and reported that it looks like the wheel is going to fall off.

On all Dodge ram trucks, specifically 2500 models, have a death wobble that occurs all the time. What happens is, when you hit a bump or a crack in the road, the truck starts wobbling out of control. It has to do with the front suspension and there's no way to fix it. It's horrible because it usually occurs when you're on highways at high speeds and it can cause a serious accident. More details include severe truck shaking and loss of control of the vehicle. . Read more...

13 Front Suspension problem of the 2004 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 08/04/2010

My 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 experienced violent shaking after hitting a bump on the freeway at approx 60 mph. I had to slow to about 30 mph before the shaking stopped. This is the 6th time this has happened. I thought it could be shocks and had them replaced about 1000 miles ago, but the problem remains. I have read several other complaints that described the exact situation I experienced. It is a front end problem that Dodge needs to address.

14 Front Suspension problem of the 2007 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 07/15/2010

I have a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 mega cab diesel. I am the second owner and have had the truck for about 5 months. I have what is most commonly referred to as the "death wobble" or "death shake". I have taken the truck to Dodge and paid to have them fix the problem only to be told there is nothing wrong with the truck. The truck is completely stock with the exception of the after market replacement shocks I had put on to hopefully fix the problem. The shocks did nothing to fix the violent shaking. Basically, when I get the truck up to around 60 mph and hit any small bump or pot hole or anything like that on the roadway the truck begins to shake violently and makes loud knocking noises. To get the shaking to stop I have to reduce my speed to around 30 to 35 mph. Obviously it is not safe to have to do this on a freeway or any other highway for that matter. It is a major safety issue and I am just waiting for the time when the truck causes me to crash. I bought the truck as a family vehicle and my wife won't even ride in it because it is that bad. I don't even like to put my children in the vehicle because of this issue. I explained all this to Dodge and they directed my to this website saying that they could do nothing for me. I've done a lot of research and there are a lot of other Dodge owners with the same issue. So much so that there are forums dedicated specifically to just this issue. I also found several videos on you tube where Dodge owners have video taped their trucks doing the same thing. I know you tube probably isn't the type of website your agency likes to use for researching issues but it shows exactly what is going on. Some of the videos actually show how Dodge owners with this problem have just left the dealership after paying to have replacement parts put on their trucks that they were told they needed only to have the same problem when they get back on the road. Being that Dodge is unwilling to assist me in any way I would like to lodge a complaint.

15 Front Suspension problem of the 2007 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 07/10/2010

Death wobble coming from front end of truck. Just started happening when I drive on bumpy roads. Causes coolant splash all over the engine. Almost causes me to loose control of the truck and could cause a serious accident.

16 Front Suspension problem of the 2008 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 05/20/2010

I have a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 with cummins diesel. This truck is completely stock and has the notorious death wobble. The shaking is extremely violent and starts when I hit a small bump at highway speeds of 65 mph. It has happened Apr. 20 times in the last three weeks and typically I have to slow down to as low as 20 mph to get it to stop shaking. I have had it to the dealership twice with no improvement. They tell me everything is ok and that they have never heard of such a problem. It wasn't until I did some research on the internet and discovered that it is a substantial complaint with many truck owners. Why has there not been a safety recall or further investigation by the NHTSA? believe me, this is a very serious and unsafe condition.

17 Front Suspension problem of the 2008 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 05/15/2010

I was driving my 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 (gas) coming into town and slowed down to approx. 50 mph and hit a small bump in the road. The truck began to shake violently and I thought the whole front end had fallen apart. Luckily I was able to pull over without causing an accident. I checked over truck and could find nothing obviously wrong. Took it to Dodge dealer and they said they could find nothing wrong with truck and that they had never heard of this type of complaint. I now believe this to be a lie after reading so many other similar complaints. This problem will kill some one soon if Dodge continues to ignore these complaints. My heart took about an hour to settle down I was so terrified.

Failure Date: 04/24/2010

My '04 2500 Dodge ram pickup experienced what is known as the death wobble today. A violent shaking of the front axel, which results in absolutely no control over the vehicle, except for braking and minimal steering. My two year old son was present for this, and it absolutely scared him to death. According to many online sites, this is a common occurrence in Dodge ram heavy duty trucks that I had no idea existed. My experience with this issue almost, what I believe, cost me and my son our life. The truck will be parked until I can make time to get it a dealership and have it checked out.

28 Front Suspension problem of the 2005 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 10/15/2009

An intermittent front end shimmy happens often, but twice now I have been driving at highway speeds and hit a bump and the front end went out of control, wobbling back and forth and hopping uncontrollably, when I hit the brakes it got worse so all I could do is coast until the it stopped, both times it stopped once I got down to about 40 mph. One of these times my son was with me and I thought for sure the truck was going to roll or go out of control. My wife happen to be following me and she was in the lane next to me and a little behind me, her and my daughter said it looked like my wheels where going to fall off the way they where wobbling. This has happened both with front tire pressure at 40psi and 60psi. It was much worse when the tires where at 60psi after looking this up on the internet I found what people are calling a death wobble and they also say Dodge has a TSB # 22-055-06 for this problem, but I am unable to find anything on it from Dodge. My truck is a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 four door.

He looked at the vehicle and wants me to pay for any repairs it may need?? although my truck is a 2004. 5, it only has 54,000 miles on it. I notice that I am not the only person living with this death wobble, as it is being called. It has happened once before, and I replaced the only part that even looked not right.

I own a 2006 Dodge pickup that has appro. 82,000 miles on the vehicle. The front end of the Dodge will shake when a bump is hit on the highway. Checking current talk on the internet this is called the death wobble. How come Dodge is not taking responsibility for this and not fixing the defect. I have asked several service departments and they all say their is nothing wrong with the front end. So why does the problem keep occurring and how come I'm not the only one. I hope this complaint will help, before someone is injured or killed.
