Dodge Ram 2500 owners have reported 73 problems related to front suspension (under the suspension category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
My 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 goes into "death wobble" at speeds higher than 65 mph. When the truck is traveling on the highway it will start to rattle the front end to a point that you feel as though you are riding on a "square tire". Extremely dangerous!!!!
apparently this is common knowledge to Chrysler management and staff. . . However, nothing has been done to correct the problem. When I first experienced the problem I took the vehicle to two different Dodge dealers to essentially be told by the service managers that the vehicle was perfectly fine and that I probably needed to buy new tires! this problem is obviously more serious than new tires. . . It is my hopes that someone can raise a red flag to the issue before a serious injury or death occurs as a result of this factory defect.

Front left tire wore very unevenly w/ 85k miles. Truck vibrates and bounces. Replaced all tires. Truck still vibrates with new tires and seems to have a self perpetuated bounce - most often occurs at 45 to 65 mph, under light acceleration, while making a long swooping right curve - but happens elsewhere less frequently. Certified Dodge shop followed TSB and replaced original tie rod (no longer available by itself) with multiple arm damper / tie/ pitman arm parts # 68039930-aa, 52106909-ae, 52122362-ae, 52122370-ab. Truck still vibrates and bounces - very unsettling! you definitely feel like you don't have complete control of the truck while it's bouncing. Add ice or snow and ????also new damper parts now squeak when body leans - like when I take a hard right at low speeds in a parking lot. Returned to shop. They suggested I change differential fluid (never done to date), so we did. Made vibrations a little less noticeable, (steering wheel and shift lever don't dance as much) but did not fix the problem. Shop said Dodge is working on some other kind of fix (TSB) that may pertain to my problem, but they don't know yet because it hasn't been released. Something about a sleeve that goes over some existing part. I contacted Dodge directly to see if I could find out more information about what the problem and what they are working on to fix it. They wouldn't tell me anything except to maybe try another authorized Dodge shop if I wasn't happy with the work they did. This is !@#$%. ! you know Dodge knows something. Didn't we learn anything from the Ford pinto? atleast tell people that you are working on something so we don't waste our hard earned money on pointless repairs that won't fix the problem. My truck is a 05' Dodge 2500 crew cab 5 spd manual. Problem started around 80k miles - truck now has 97k miles.

Vehicle wobbles violently if you hit a bump in the road traveling at speeds between 40 to 75. It shakes to the point where I need to slow down sometimes to 15 mph before it stops. Other drivers see this and they slow or pull off the road to give me room. I have taken the truck to the dealer and they find nothing wrong. I have changed all tires, rims, shocks and steering stabilizer and still the problem is there. The truck has 57k miles on it now and this problem started approx 2 years ago and I have been trying to fix it ever since. The dealer advises there is nothing wrong with the truck but I am certain that it is something mechanical. A google search revealed several others who have experienced this same problem. There was one blog that stated that the stock tracking arm is the culprit and must be replaced. It further advised not to replace it with another stock tracking arm as they continue to be lees than appropriate for this truck. My truck is back at the dealer at this time and this information was forwarded to the service advisor. I am hopeful that this replacement of what is being described as inadequate for its application will not be the burden of the vehicle owners. I am assuming that the replacement parts would be checked and their design standard be elevated to perform on their designed application. This violent shaking is without a doubt a safety issue not only to the operator and passengers but also to other motorist in close proximity. The last incident occurred on the date listed below which is the same day it was taken back to the dealer. This condition has been occurring continuously for the past 2 years. Some incidents not as severe as others but still a safety concern.
Driving on a straight road at about 65mph, pickup started to shake and jump violently nearly causing me to crash.

Consumer states that vehicle pulls from left to right. The caster is out of alignment. Technician at pacific service and development states that is probably due to human error, and he could fix it. Consumer stated that he had the problem since he bought the vehicle. Consumer thought it may be the tires. The technician stated that the sidewall was only two ply, and consumer felt they weren't strong enough for the front end.
This is a common problem with this year truck relating to faulty front suspension components. I have experienced the so called, "death wobble" at least 30 or more time on freeways all over the state. Problem occurs when traveling 65 mph +/- 2 and driving over uneven surfaces. Causes truck to shake violently and veer to the right or the left. Only way to stop is to let off the accelerator and let coast to 25 to 30 mph which is real safe on the freeway. This may have been caused or caused failure of track bar, which is also listed in your complaint section multiple times. The manufacturer blew off my claim and told me the vehicle was road worthy. They referred me to this site so I could read the hundreds of complaints I guess? this problem started around 45,000 miles and continuously gets worse. Since they really don't care I've ordered an after market track bar made by a superior designer.
When hitting moderate bumps in the road at speeds over 45mph, the front wheens start bouncing uncontrollably. Nothing stops the shaking except deceleration to <40 mph. Contol of the vehicle is compromised while the wheels are bouncing.
While driving the front end of vehicle shook horribly. Consumer took vehicle to dealer for service twice, but they could not determine the cause of the problem.
2004 Dodge 2500 ram truck 4x4 when I hit a bad bump at 60-70 mph. The front end shakes violently to the point of having to almost stop in traffic.
I am having a violent shake in the front end of my 2004 Dodge. This occurs at highway speeds and I have to slow to 50 mph to make it stop. You can imagine towing a trailer on the freeway, surrounded by semi trucks and slowing to 50. This has almost caused several crashes. The dealer is unable to pin point the problem after 2 attempts and I want to use the oklahoma lemon law to get a new truck. I refuse to drive the truck another mile. It isnt safe and it will end up killing me and probably other drivers. I need help. . .
2004 Dodge 2500 ram gas. Axle u joints on front have gone already 85,000 ml I do not plow nor do I 4 wheel. Family vehicle with children. I have talk to other owners who have had these problems with there's at only 60-70,000. What is going on with them.
The owner took the vehicle into the dealership for inspection; the mechanic informed the owner that the front suspension had failed. The consumer will have the suspension replaced.
Since new my Dodge 2500 4x4 diesel p/u has worn the outside of the front tires. With only 23000 miles I have just purchased new tires. The mechanic at the tire store was kind enough to inform me this is a well known defect with Dodge trucks, and there is a fix. This would cost me between $250. - $350. Depending on labor. I do not believe the consumer should have to pay for this inherent problem because of manufacturer oversight and potential accidents.

Someone is going to get killed in this thing. I've taken it to two dealers and two front end shops. The problem is when you hit a bump where the tires don't hit it at the same time. Then the left tire usually starts bouncing until it almost shakes the truck apart and you run off the road trying to get it stopped. I've changed the shocks, tie rods and misc other parts trying to find a solution. Everyone says it all looks fine. But something isn't right here. I like the cummins but I'm afraid I'm going to have to get a chevy before I hurt myself or someone else. It's pretty bad when you get paranoid of the road ahead when you go faster than 65 mph. I even went to a real stiff tire to eliminate this. Now it not only shakes to pieces, but it rides like a buckboard because of the tires. There should be some kind of a recall for this thing.
While driving there was severe vibration in the front end of vehicle. Consumer managed to pull over, checked out problem, but found nothing. Took vehicle to dealership. Mechanic attempted to repair the vehicle 3 times, but the problem has not resolved.
2000 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4- problem = suspension. Vehicle will experience violent front end shake and loss of control after contact with minor road imperfections and bumps. Vehicle is not safe to drive at any speed. After further research via the internet I have come to understand that a very large percentage of Dodge owners is experiencing very similar problems. I am sincerely concerned for the safety of myself and others.

Steering wander on 2001 2500 series Dodge quadcab pickup. Due mostly to faulty track bar. And front end alignment specs are to wide a range and it can be in spec but still wander all over road. You can drive down the road and for no reason at all the truck wanders into the other lane. You have to constantly counter steer back and forth to keep truck on the road. It is dangerous numerous times ive ended up in different lanes and off onto the burm of th road. The dealer forrer Dodge told me that their replacing track bars all the time and have even replaced track bars on trucks that they had just received in from factory. Theirs even a custom company that makes a custom track bar because the Dodge one is defective. And theirs other companies that rebuild the Dodge ones to be stronger so you can eliminate the wander. You know theirs a problem when theirs companies that make stronger track bars and thats the only thing they make. . Read more...
My truck wanders on the road. It is a challange to keep it in the lane at high way speeds. I always have to continue to try to steer it left then right. There is several inches of travel in the steering wheel between going left and right. It is very difficult to drive on the highway and stay in your lane, even more, it is dangourus to drive when it is snowy and icy. Here in minnesota we have poor driving conditions for our long winter season. I bought this to be safe in the snow and ice, acctualy it is the opposite!!.
When driving front end cracks, and tires wear out unevenly. Please provide any further information.

Problems with front end shaking violently at 60mph after going over a series of bumps in the roadway.
When driving the truck at highway speed and hitting a series of bumps in the road, the front end of the truck begins to shake and it's very hard to keep control of the truck. Have to slow down rapidly to about 25mph in order to maintain control of the truck.
The consumer has been experiencing problems with front end suspension. While driving vehicle started jumping. The consumer has taken the vehicle to get it fixed 5 times. The manufacturer has yet to be contacted.
It wasn't the tires it is the front end of the truck itself.
