Dash is cracking and I am afraid that if I were to get in an accident there would be sharp pieces of plastic sent into the occupants of the cab specifically my children. The dashes should be recalled.

Dash cracked, broken, pieces completely broken away, missing, sharp edges, vents grills gone items can fall into the heat, defroster. All Dodge trucks I've seen have seen of this year, mod and similar defects.
The dash is cracking and deteriorating producing small sharp objects in the cab that come lose and are a hazzard to all occupants.
I try to replace the heater core on my 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 . And when the mechanic start to remove the dash board this start to falling in parts . So he try to put those parts back until he explain me what happen . I try to find an aftermarket dash and people on the store let me know . They believe it's a open recall for this failure dash on all models on ram . So I call to northwest Dodge on houston texas and they said the recall was several years ago . . For that reason they can't fixed . After a research on the internet I find this place to file a complaint. Because for me it's dangerous have a dashboard cracked with a sharp pieces . My dash cover falls in around 20 pcs . And the base of the whole dash in several cracked pieces . . And can't replace my heater core . . Until I have the dashboard.

Noticed the dashboard had a small crack in it, used a dash protector mat and when I took it off to clean the entire dashboard was cracked into pieces. This dashboard looks worse than a jigsaw puzzle. While driving down the road pieces just break off and fall into the dash!.
While cleaning the truck, I noticed a crack had appeared that ran across the dashboard. The dashboard is always shaded by a sunscreen when the truck is parked. I called my local Dodge dealer to ask what could be done to repair the dashboard and they told me to call Chrysler/Dodge customer service and gave me the phone number. I called customer service, explained that the dashboard had unexpectedly cracked and they gave me a case number. They told me to take the truck to my local dealer where digital pictures would be taken and submitted for review. Five days later I received a letter from my local Dodge dealer stating that my claim was denied. I called Chrysler/Dodge customer service to follow up. They said that there is nothing that they can do and confirmed that the claim has been denied. The crack continues to get larger and eventually I expect the dashboard to disintegrate as hundreds if not thousands of other Dodge ram dashboards are doing. Dodge should recall the faulty dashboards for replacement because there is a great potential for plastic shards and splinters to cause injury during an accident or air bag deployment.
I have received 2 recalls for the left tie rod ball stud. First one in January. I have been on a waiting list since February. Right now I am still 56th in line to get this fixed. We haul a 4 horse trailer with living quarters all over the eastern states. This is a safety issue. If this broke, the horses and people in the track could get badly hurt or die. I was told Chrysler is only allowing 1 tie rod to get fixed per week. At this rate, it will next year at this time before I get my truck fixed. Can you help us?.

The front top dash is cracking in several pieces.
Cracked dash and broken, very sharp all over , junk.
My dashboard has been disintegrating rapidly in the last couple years. Started with a large crack, then several cracks, then chunks. I never know when a chunk is going to let loose, I check every time I get into the truck for anything loose, but it never fails to startle me and I even got pulled over once on a suspected dui when a chunk flew off and hit me between the eyes. This has happened a few times to both me and any passenger I might be transporting. Chrysler says its a cosmetic issue, but I am here to tell you that it is a safety issue not only for the truck owner, but anyone else who happens to be on the road with one. Please lean on Chrysler to recall this and make the roads a bit safer for all. Thank you.
The contact owns a 2000 Dodge Ram 3500. The contact stated that the trailer hitch side brackets fractured from the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and inquired in regards to NHTSA campaign id number: 00v107000 (trailer hitches). The dealer advised the contact that his VIN was not included in the recall campaign. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 135,000.

I have had a dashmat covering on my dashboard since spring of 2003. I had not taken it off except to clean a couple of times a year. Now I have cracks and pieces that I have had to tape so they dont stick up into my mat. It appears to be a problem common to Dodge trucks. Fyi -- my 1999 q45 infinity "doesn't" have a dashmat or any cracks.
The dashboard of my Dodge ram truck is cracked. When I say cracked I don't mean a small crack but cracks all over the entire dashboard. It is cracked so badly that I fear pieces of the hard plastic are going to break off during our travels and cause injury to me ,my passengers or my grandchildren. I am also concerned that if we were in an accident that the cracks would fly off and cause severe injury or death to the driver, passengers or my grandchildren. This is a problem in a lot of the Dodge ram trucks. It is not a cosmetic problem but a danger to the life of people in the vehicle.
Safety issue 1. . Interior dash board first cracked, then cracked all over, then finally fell apart. The safety issue is pieces of the dash made up of plastic is breaking up in large sharp chunks when a bump in the road is encountered or jarring occurs. When going over a rr track a 5" jagged piece broke off and a small shard hit me in the eye. This issue is way more than cosmetic. I am the original owner and the dealer will not take any responsibility for this defective product. Safety issue 2. . Air bag light has been on for several years and intermittent. I received an air bag recall and I took the truck to the dealer for corrective action. After so called fix, the warning light was off for 1 day then came back on. The dealer states the recall has nothing to do with the warning lights. Now I have a current 2nd air bag recall. I took the vehicle to the dealer, but they state they don't have the parts and will contact me. Its been months ago and still no part. Again they say air bag warning light is not related. Safety issue 3. . . Brake light warning and abs warning stays on all the time. Paid $100 for them to troubleshoot and they say its a sensor on the rt front abs. I feel this is another safety issue.
The dash on this truck has cracked and fallen in, exposing the wiring inside the dash to the sun. The wiring insulation is not rated for exposure to direct sunlight (uv exposure) and is decomposing, putting the truck at risk of a fire initiating inside the cab at highway speeds, due to exposed wiring shorting to ground. Dodge refuses to remedy it, despite numerous attempts to resolve the issue with them. It is my understanding that this is a widespread issue, yet the nhtsb has not forced Chrysler/fiat into a recall, claiming that it isn't a safety issue. Do you need to see death before you act?.
The contact owns a 2002 Dodge 3500. While driving 30 mph, the factory installed hitch split in half off of the bracket. There were no warning signs prior to the failure. The dealer informed the contact to call daimler Chrysler. Daimler Chrysler stated that nothing could be done because the vehicle exceeded its warranty. The failure and current mileages were 165,000.

Dash cracked creating a safety hazard if ever involved in an accident. Also small fragments of the dash have gotten into the vents blowing into drivers face which my cause an accident if struck in eye. Stationary, motion what type of roadway does not matter. Defective parts used!!!!.
2003 Dodge 3500 dash cracking severly. You touch it and and your finger goes through it. I cut my finger twice passing it over the dash ti try to clean it. You guys know there's a problem but you say it is not a safety issuie. I disagree cut finger twice and now the wiring is getting so hot being exposed to the sun it is a hazard.
Dodge case # 23386829 cracked dashboard due to defective plastic when truck was manufactured in 2000. Vehicle was parked in an insulated enclosed garage except when being driven. Due to the severe cracks, sharp pieces could potentially fly through the cab upon impact during an accident causing serious to fatal cuts. There should be a recall on the defectives dashboards.
Cracked dash 3rd year is still cracking.
The dash in my 2003 Dodge Ram 3500 has cracked in two places. The truck had 95,602 miles at the time. Low mileage for the model but I only live 3 miles from my job. I use a sunscreen when the truck is not in use and I do not believe this is sun damage. Now little pieces of plastic, foam and fiber looking material are being spewed from air vents. I think it is from the deterioration of the dash. I feel that Chrysler should replace this dash as the deterioration is through no fault of mine as I have given reasonable care to the truck. I also fear that if I am involved in an accident where the airbags deploy, I or my passengers could be injured or killed by the damaged dash flying into shrapnel.
Dash began cracking in 2003, and has continued until now it is falling in. I am afraid that the pieces will cause an unknown hazard in the parts housed under the dash.

Trailor hitch is being replaced for the second time due to cracking of format from frame. Replacement hitch was a revised part from manufaturer that repeated the same problem. Please provide more information.
After taking vehicle to dealer for recall repairs on trailer hitch, found out that hitch was cracking.
Broken dash. I bought trk new in 98. In 2000 I found a crack in my dash. I went to my local dealer and the serv. Mngr. Advised it was a cosmetic issue therefore not covered by warranty. I did not replace dash as it was quoted as over 750 to r/r. Over years it has gotten worse. For last couple of years small pieces of the dash would blow out of the a/c vents striking me in the face while driving. Very dangerous issue.
Spare tire is supported by a steel cable connected to a hand winch. Upon raising spare tire, it will not lift up directly to the stowed position, but will hang against tail pipe. Operator layed under vehicle to align the tire and clear tail pipe. Cable became slack and cable retainer plate became detached, allowing the spare wheel to fall free, striking the operatoe in the face. Hitting with enough force to cause the eye glasses to cut the skin below left eye, requiring stiches at local emergency room.
"takata recall" the dash on my truck is all cracked up and I take very good care of my truck. Io came across an article about the Dodge dash's I went right out side and pulled my dash cover back and took a look and to my surprise my dash is all cracked up in many piece's . And I have had it covered since new. . . I do feel that Dodge should be held reasonable for this , looks like they used cheap plastic on these, I can see it now if I was to have a wreak plastics pieces flying all over the place.
Dot inspection found cracks on the hitch platform, which was a factory installed component.
