Dodge Ram 3500 owners have reported 2 problems related to owners/service manual (under the equipment category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I was reversing from my drive way and then put my truck on drive to go up the drive way and then turned the gear shift counter clock wise to put it on park. Got out of my truck and walked in front of it and then ran inside the house to grab what I forgot. When I came back outside, my truck was moving foward by itself, the truck shifted by itself from park to drive. I ran to the passenger side and turned the knob back to park to stop the truck. The truck hit the corner of the house and damaged my house and truck. I was lucky enough to stop it before it went all the way inside the house. Thank god I'm here to tell the story and not under the tire. I tried reporting to chryseler and they said it was my fault for not putting the parking break on and I stepped out and left the truck runnning. I explained to them that its not a manual transmission and it wasnt parked downhill. Got nothing out of them!.

This vehicle has been maintained according to the manual perfectly and in most cases maintenance done before required. On the date above I was driving home and the vehicle lost power. Since I was 2 hours from home I had to have it towed to the local dealer. Their repair order indicates that all 6 injectors, the dpf, crankcase breather filter, thermostat, ox sensor and 2 temp sensors must be replaced. In addition, the entire fuel system needs to be cleaned out including all filters, air and fuel and oil changed and filter. The bottom line is that all this work will cost me $7500. This truck has too little mileage to need all this work. This was supposed to be the last truck I would own figuring the cummins engine's reputation. Interested in whether this truck is an aberration or is it similar to trucks with the first clean burning engine?.
