This has happened before back in 2010 and I put an extra stabilizer on the front and upper and lower ball joints and a few more pieces all made by moog but the front end still shakes almost uncontrollable and I have to slow down real fast before I cause an accident I'm afraid it's going to make me wreck.

Upper & lower ball joints and bearings of the front suspension on a Dodge Ram 3500 4x4 truck. Much like the Dodge dakota trucks and the Dodge durango.
Vehicle was taken to tire dealer for new tires, and the dealer indicated the front end was completely worn out. The vehicle had 49000 miles on the odometer. Took to dealer from whom puchased and told vehicle was out of 36000 miles warranty. Dealer authorized to replace parts at a total cost of $1555. 24. Rack -steering gear, upper control arms and lower control ball joints replaced. Dealer indicated he talked with district manager to see if any recalls or problems reported.
Reading your comments about Dodge durango and dakota gave me some satisfaction of my issue. I have 03 Dodge ram with inferior/faulty ball joints. I have attempted to get the dealer to address without success. The argument is over how much play is allowed. Independent shops will not align and say this is a common problem with Dodge. I contacted Dodge to attempt to get information on the number of owners with similar complaint and was informed that it was proprietary information. This generation of Dodge must use a different ball joint than the prior generation. I saw your alert and was curious if it included the ram pick up? any help would be appreciated.
Load clunking noise from front axle, and noticable instabillity in steering on bumpy roads that only started when the front ball joints developed what I beleive to be excessive wear. I measured . 033 verticle free play of the steering knuckle, but minimal lateral play. According to daimlerchrysler, the -quote- "new way of checking play" only registers . 010 freeplay, and the ball joint has to have . 060 to be declare defective. As such daimlerchrysler denied my repair. In my opinion by the time the lateral play measures . 060, the verticle play will dangerously close to catastrophic failure. There have been numerous complaints about these ball joints on 2003 and later "3rd generation" 2500/3500 4 wheel drive Dodge ram hd pickups on the various internet news groups, such as turbo diesel register. I have a 2003 Dodge 3500 4x4 truck. At 25,000 miles I noticed the front tires starting to wear improperly. After checking out the front end I found all 4 ball joints in the front of the truck very loose. I have been to the Dodge dealer 4 times to correct this problem and one time to correct a problem they caused with the anti-lock brake system when they repaired the ball joints.
The upper control arms on left and right sides were pulling the ball joints out of socket, and causing the wheels to fall off.
