Dodge Ram 3500 owners have reported 7 problems related to fuel pump (under the gasoline fuel system category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
On the seventh my truck started missing and sputtering. It only had 53,000 miles on it. When I went out the next morning to start my truck, it would not start. I could not make it to college or work that day. It was due to a lift pump failure. I had to buy a whole new fuel system for my truck because Dodge does not make a replacement. It cost me about $700 for the fast fuel system and another $50 for my fuel pressure gauge. Plus time and the damage to my truck during the install. If this would have happened at an intersection, someone could have been hurt.

: the contact stated the vehicle engine stalled. The problem occurred mostly when the vehicle went over a bump in the road or when turning. The engine restarted automatically. The problem occurred at a variety of speeds. Upon inspection the dealership determined the transfer pump and injector pump need to be replaced in order to restore proper fuel delivery.

Vehicle stalled on highway due to bad fuel pump. 2004 Dodge picked up and stalled on highway more than once. Dealership could not replace the original fuel pump because daimler/Chrysler said the original fuel pump was defective, and they would like to do it in the fuel tank and rewire it. Feels this is a safety hazard.
