2 Other Fuel System problem of the 2005 Dodge Ram 3500

Failure Date: 04/14/2017

The injector fuel line keep brakeing and pushing high pressure fuel all over the engine compartment. Vehicle is in motion and engine at full temp. This is well known problem with this engine with thousands of people stranded each year. Extreme fire hazard. It has happened twice to this truck in 80000 miles.

3 Other Fuel System problem of the 2004 Dodge Ram 3500

Failure Date: 01/05/2017

Truck currently has 76,000 miles. Replaced all 4 ball joints at the same time, fewer than 40k. Had to replace an injector around the same time. Filters Dodge came out with were too large, letting "junk" into the injectors. Not ong after that, we were driving and lost power. Pulled to side of road, saw belts hanging down. Popped the hood and the pulley(?) the belts attach to had snapped off! fortunately, we were on a county road, driving slowly. Then, at 76k, the front left wheel locked up, causing us to have to replace the entire front axle system. We were stopped at a stop sign, then proceeded to pull forward. About halfway across the intersection, left wheel locked up. We could go in reverse, but not forward. Injectors are clogging up as well and will most likely have to be replaced. We bought this new in 2005 for $42,000. It has had an 'easy' life with very little towing.

5 Other Fuel System problem of the 1994 Dodge Ram 3500

Failure Date: 05/15/2015

Pulling into traffic vehicle suddenly has no power and will not accelerate nearly caused a accident. Throttle becomes unresponsive. Brought vehicle to Dodge dealer. Dodge says this is due to a throttle position sensor which has been on back-order since may. We receive a e-mail from Dodge corporate representative approximately every 2 weeks saying thanks for you patience but there still is no delivery date for this part. This vehicle has been parked since may because it is unsafe to drive. I feel this is unacceptable to expect a vehicle to be parked for 4 months with no solution from dealer for a repair part.

9 Other Fuel System problem of the 2014 Dodge Ram 3500

Failure Date: 03/25/2015

Was going to merge on to the freeway the car in front of me slowed down so I had to take my foot off the accelerator pedal. A hole opened in traffic and I started to change lanes pressed down on the accelerator pedal to get up to the same speed as traffic and there was a 2 to 3 second pause before the truck started to accelerate. In that time I watched the truck behind me get dangerously close and the hole I came out of closed up I had no were to go. I took the truck to the dealer and they told me that is the way the truck is suppose to work. I test drove a truck at another dealer and it did not have the same problem. Took it back to the dealer shop and they were still adamant that the truck was working correctly. I can duplicate the problem when ever I want.

21 Other Fuel System problem of the 2014 Dodge Ram 3500

Failure Date: 12/17/2014

I was trying to pull out of a drive way on a country road. The road was obscured and hard to see around the corner. I started to pull out slowly to see around the corner. I took my foot off the accelerator pedal at that time a loaded log truck came around the corner and I was in his way. I automatically pressed down on the accelerator pedal and the truck just sat there for about 2 to 3 seconds before it started to move. The log truck had all its brakes locked up and smoking. I’m really glad the truck driver had good reflexes. I don’t know if my boys and I would have made it through a crash like that. I believe this is a really big safety issue and it should be addressed at once. I was told by the dealer that it is that way for the safety of the drive train. That just don’t seem right to me. Save the drive train forget the people?.

22 Other Fuel System problem of the 2011 Dodge Ram 3500

24 Other Fuel System problem of the 2012 Dodge Ram 3500

Failure Date: 12/08/2014

In December, I received the p65 fuel heater electrical connector recall which warns of a fuel leak and risk of fire. It is now February and parts are still not available to fix this and avoid the fire risk. If Chrysler can come up with the parts to supply their production lines, why can't Chrysler come up with the parts for the recall? based on this recall and other Chrysler recalls, the delays procuring recall parts while supplying production line parts appears to be a deliberate strategy by Chrysler to delay or avoid the expense of implementing recalls.

25 Other Fuel System problem of the 2012 Dodge Ram 3500

Failure Date: 12/07/2014

27 Other Fuel System problem of the 2010 Dodge Ram 3500

Failure Date: 12/01/2014

Received recall notice on December 1, 2014 stating that the diesel fuel heater electrical connector may overheat and cause a fuel leak. The diesel fuel heater housing at the fuel heater electrical connector may overheat, leading to the failure of the o-rings that seal the male electrical terminals in the diesel fuel filter/heater assembly. A leaking diesel fuel filter/heater could cause underhood smoke and/or an engine compartment fire. As of today, February 21, 2015 there is no remedy available per the NHTSA website and the local Dodge dealer has confirmed as such. Since there is no remedy available, the local dealership wants to charge me to inspect it for the problem. I don't feel that I should have to pay to have a recalled vehicle inspected for the recall nor should I have to wait three months or more for a solution from the manufacturer. Also, I cannot believe that 82 days after the date on the recall notice there is no remedy. This is ridiculous. This vehicle was purchased to work, not sit in the yard. We have no other vehicle to use in place of it. If Dodge does not have any diesel fuel filter/heater assembly components to replace the recalled ones, they need to get their priorities in order as existing customers should come before potential new customers. I need my truck repaired ASAP!.

28 Other Fuel System problem of the 2013 Dodge Ram 3500

Failure Date: 11/29/2014

I was on PA turnpike attemping to merge from a service plaza, when an opening in traffic was available I applied power to merge into line . As I did this my truck did not respond !! I was pulling a 36' fifth wheel trailer at the time and my merge into traffic became very perilious! after what seemed like a very long delay ( and some braking by other motorists ) my vehicle finally started to accelerate. Once the motor responded I had plenty of power to achive speed with traffic . I have told dealer about dead pedal and was told " never heard of it " this has happened to me more that once!.

32 Other Fuel System problem of the 2012 Dodge Ram 3500

Failure Date: 10/15/2014

My driver was traveling at 80 mph in cruise control when he started to notice a vibration from the truck that was shaking the mirrors. He took the vehicle out of cruise control and started to decelerate. At approximately 70 mph a large bang was heard from beneath the vehicle and the front end of the truck was lifted off of the pavement. This caused the vehicle to be turned slightly sideways when it came back down into contact with the pavement while traveling at 70 mph! thankfully my driver was able to correct the vehicle straight but when he pushed on the brake pedal it went all the way to the floor. He was able to coast the vehicle to the side of the road and eventually bring it to a stop. Parts from the truck had been strewn down the interstate over approximately 200 yds. There was a vehicle traveling behind my driver at the time of the incident but luckily they were far enough behind that they were able to take evasive actions to avoid any flying debris. Thankfully there were no injuries or after incident accidents that occurred though I would attribute this to the alert and responsive driving of both my driver and the driver of the vehicle behind him. Had there been a vehicle directly behind or to the side of him there could have been a major accident possibly resulting in injuries or death. This vehicle was towed to a Dodge ram dealer where we were informed that the front drive shaft was the part that failed. We were informed by dealer personnel that this drive shaft has a joint that is non-serviceable nor easily inspected and that this was the root cause of the failure. Other parts that were effected were the transfer case (the case was broken in two pieces and the internals were blown out), transmission cracked beyond repair, brake lines had been severed, fuel lines had been severed and a hole was punched through the cab bottom into the passenger area.

34 Other Fuel System problem of the 2013 Dodge Ram 3500

Failure Date: 08/25/2014

Engine light came on, message said error with def system , call dealer. Then message came up and said in 200 miles truck will shut down to only 5 mph. Took it to dealership and was told this is an issue on these trucks. They could not get a new part for 2 weeks. I was 3rd on list and 5 more behind me. They're having to order so many that they're back logged. This problem needs fixed fast! surely, they will do a recall.

35 Other Fuel System problem of the 2013 Dodge Ram 3500

Failure Date: 08/01/2014

There have been a couple times where I pulled out into traffic and got the famous "dead pedal" that Dodge has programmed into this vehicle. There is too much torque mgmt. Or something and there are many cases, where you expect the vehicle to take off and it will sit there for 2-3 seconds before moving, therefore putting you into a dangerous position. We need this fixed before someone is killed. In the forums, there are many, many that have the same issue with the same vehicles - 2013-2014 vehicles with cummins 6. 7l diesel.
