Failure Date: 10/05/2015

Driving down the road at 65 mph and lost total control of vehicle steering found out it was due to a rusted framed. Totally unsafe van. I was glad it was not very busy on the interstate or I could have been killed. I am very disappointed a manufacture can have so many complaints online and nothing has been done. It is total frame lost to rust.

Difficult to get the gearshift out of park. A recall has been done on the ignition/parkshift interlock for an issue "the ignition/park shift interlock system may become inoperative. ". The dealership service technician said that the part that has failed is not the same as the part that was replaced under the recall and wants over $2,000 for a new steering column or over $1,000 for a junkyard steering column. Chrysler customer assistance center agrees with the dealership but nobody can explain how the ignition/park shift interlock is not related to the ignition/park shift interlock.

We submitted a letter to Chrysler asking for a "goodwill repair refund" and had a phone call from the customer service center, al williams, stating that the three (3)year warranty had expired. We had explained that our leisure travel van with a Dodge v8 360 engine only on 31,365 on the transmission. He said it did not matter. The Chrysler dealership that replace the transmission with a rebuilt transmission from Chrysler stated that he had never seen a transmission "chewed up" like ours. We have made several phone calls to Chrysler asking for a letter stating exactly why they were denying our request for a "goodwill repair refund". We have had no calls returned and can not reach their customer number because it is always busy. On line "ask" questions never respond to a question.
