I took my Stratus into the dealership for its free oil change. While driving there my "brake" idiot light flickered on a few times when stopping. I asked the dealer to look into this. The dealer told me that the cause was excessive brake wear. At 26000 miles all 4 pads are shot and both front rotors are worn. Chrysler will do nothing about this. I have owned over 8 cars and usually get about 60,000 miles or so out of a set of brakes. I called midas and they said that they have dont a lot of brake jobs on Dodge Stratus vehicles in my area.

Brake pads and rotors failed prematurely(less than 30,000 miles). (qcaw).
When the brake pedal is applied it goes to the floor, increasing extended stopping distance. Brakes respond late. Also, brake pads have been replaced 7 times. Dealer says that they can't find the cause of the problem.
Brake pads wear excessively, in one instance the brake pads were broken.
Brake pads failed.
I have been purchasing brake pads every six months. There is a loud squeaking noise on the brakes. I have reviewed recalls, but nothing has been replaced. I have not received any letters concerning the recalls. The two recalls are 99v244000 (hydraulic:lines) and 00v196000 (hydraulic lines). Jim burke Buick needs to repair whatever needs to be done. Something is wrong with my brakes, but I am not quite sure.
Braking system loses pressure when pedal is engaged. Ongoing problem that has gotten worse. New rotors and pads installed @ 50k miles, but problem not resolved. Pedal loses pressure when transmission changes to lower gear and vehicle has no braking power and "glides" until brakes "catch" again. Does this over and over during single braking/stopping incident. Pedal eventually pressed to floor with little effect.
Front brake pad was broken in half and the right rotor was warped.
