1st brake failure, 15,000 miles, second at 40,000 miles. Engineering defect, not enough surface area to compensate for cab forward design. Many of your complaints about anti-lock brakes have nothing to do with the hydraulics. Lets get this recalled before some one gets killed. **dimsii ivoq entry posted after 12/12/02 cut-over artemis**725472.
I have had the brakes fail on my Stratus 5 times so far (and counting) to the point where I had no breaking power and was forced to use the parking brake on all occasions to stop the vehicle in time before crashing into other vehicles. On all occasions I have been driving at low speeds, on dry roads, for generally only 15 -30 minutes after getting into the vehicle. The dealer has looked at it and found no diagnosable problem. I am having them look at it one more time next week and then if it is not fixed, I will have the nh motor vehicle arbitration board arbirtrate to get me a new vehcile.
Vehicle experienced total brake failure on four occasions. Brake pedal would go to the floor momentarily, and return after pumping the pedal a few times. Vehicle been in dealer's shop on two occasions. Dealer informed consumer that nothing could be found.

Recalled related, abs, brake failure, pedal went floor , loss of brake effectiveness, resulting in an accident, impact 12:00 position, speed 20mph, in for repair 3 times. 96v074000.
Abs brakes; when applying the brakes in normal conditions, the pedal goes to the floor and the brakes fail to stop the vehicle. Please provide further details.
This vehicle has been in the shop seven times because of a noise in the(abs) brakes, when at low speeds the brakes failed when coming to a stop, problem has not been remedied. Please describe details.
The brakes on my car were squeaking about every other time I braked from the time I got the car, and the dealer could never duplicate the problem, until I had brought my car in for the six time and the brakes were squeaking as I pulled into the shop. The dealer replace my brakes at around about 5000 miles. I informed the dealer that when ever I drove my car and parked it, not only was the brakes still squeeking, but I also would get burning smell coming from the rear left wheel. I took the car back over 5 to 6 times and they still could not smell or dulicate the problem. I contacted daimler Chrysler and inform them of the problems I was having with my brakes and the dealer not being able to find a problem, their suggestion was to take my car to another dealer since it is still under warranty. I was told by this dealer that my brakes were going to squeek, because they had to switch materials, that it road salt, it dirt from the road. I was given so many bogus excuses, that I decided to try another way. I need help. I afraid to drive my car because my brakes has already failed to stop my car once.
