Summary of the safety problem: a 2026 Ford Bronco rolled out of its parked position with no occupants, despite being left in park, and collided with another vehicle. Full description of the incident: the Ford Bronco was placed in park, was not running, and had no occupants. I exited the vehicle several times to reinstall the removable roof panels. The vehicle remained stationary during this process. After completing the roof panel installation, my wife and I closed the doors and trunk and we walked toward the building. A witness (the owner of the other car that was involved in car collision ) confirmed that the Bronco was still parked where we left it. A short time later, we learned that the Bronco had rolled out of its parking spot and struck a parked car. The Bronco had not been touched, driven, or moved by anyone after we walked away that we were aware of. There were no warning signs that we were aware of. The police were at the scene and filed a report. This was a enterprise car rental vehicle with approx. 1,300 miles. I am unsure if this vehicle has been inspected by enterprise. Damage / injuries: •collision with a parked car. •no injuries reported. •police report filed (attached). •photos available (attached). Why this is a safety defect: a vehicle that rolls away while in park violates the intent of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) 114, which aims to prevent accidental rollaway. This Bronco should not have moved under any circumstances once placed in park. What you request NHTSA to investigate: •whether the 2026 Ford Bronco has a defect in its park mechanism, parking brake system, or electronic controls that can cause unintended rollaway. •whether similar complaints exist for this model year. •whether a recall or inspection campaign is warranted to prevent future incidents. Attachments included: •police accident report •photos of vehicle positions and damage •rental agreement.
My infotainment screen goes blank when I backup instead of displaying my backup camera. There is an active recall on this but there is no remedy and no estimated remedy date. Ford motor company is only prioritizing 2026 model years so they can sell brand new vehicles. They are not trying to fix previous model years. This poses a safety risk that can result in a crash and/or death. Cars are required by law to have a backup camera, so Ford is breaking the law by not fixing this issue.

Regarding this recall notice 26s09/26v124 this camein the mail Friday, 3 days to late to prevent a accident. On that previous Tuesday, while backing out of the garage in full sunshine I backed straight into my wife's vehicle parked to the side. No warning sensors, no alarms. Progressive insurance is handling the claims, but I am still going to be out of pocket my 500 dollars deductible plus rental car charges. I can provide all information you might require, but I certainly feel this safety recall led up yi this incident.

*question 1 the top part of the fender flare on rear driver side was not properly welded/glued to bottom part of fender flare. It peeled off and flew while driving down the highway. *question 2 the top fender flew off while I was driving. It could have hit another car behind. I also don't feel safe having the other fenders on my vehicle. If one's faulty, I have concerns the others will also come apart while driving *question 3 took my vehicle to dealership service center to report the incident (dealership: group 1 Ford of kennesaw). They took pics of the faulty fender and asked me to open a case with Ford customer service. The dealership said Ford was aware of the issue, but they couldn't replace because the part is not under any current warranty programs. Ford's manufacturer customer service made the same excuse. Asked for email confirming my case complaint. . They didn't send documentation (case # cxh-07394045-c3y9m4) *question 4 I called the manufacturer's customer service to review the incident with the dealership. They wouldn't cover the replacement because my vehicle had just exceeded the milage on their limited bumper-to-bumper warranty. . Which is 36,000 or 3 years. My Bronco is only 2 years. I've never driven it off road and have been taking it to the dealership regularly for routine maintenance. The fender flare is an original factory part that should not have come apart while I was driving. Was surprised to see it fly off while driving, until I did a google search and found that this has happened to many other Bronco owners while driving. I've seen many owners post pics with the same exact part come off while driving. I'd be happy to share multiple links as evidence of the safety concern with this fender part. *question 5 no signs until the part flew and we could see that fender wasn't properly welded together. Again, my vehicle has been taken to the dealership routinely for maintenance and they didn't notice the issue until the part came off.
Crain Ford in jacksonville arkansas (72076) sold me this vehicle while it was under a national stop-sale with an active recall and expected me to make payments on the loan while they held the vehicle for several months.

I am sending this to anonymously report a critical compliance issue at stivers Ford in birmingham, alabama. They are actively selling brand-new vehicles with active safety recalls. Dealership employees have openly admitted to taking brand-new, never-titled vehicles and delivering them to end consumers. They are doing this even though recall 26s09 is still active and it has absolutely no remedy available right now. This is a huge safety problem. The proof: • stock b9380, VIN [xxx] • stock b9259, VIN [xxx] these two units are just the tip of the iceberg. I am confident that a deeper look will uncover many more cases across all of their dealerships. We need to look into this and make sure they stop delivering unsafe vehicles immediately. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I am submitting a safety complaint regarding my Ford vehicle’s infotainment screen failure, which has been identified under a recall but currently has no available remedy or repair timeline. When the screen goes blank or becomes unresponsive, I lose access to critical safety features, including the rearview camera, which is federally required. This significantly increases the risk of accidents while reversing, especially in areas with pedestrians. The system also affects access to navigation, hands-free communication, and important vehicle alerts, forcing me to either drive without these features or become distracted trying to compensate. Although Ford has acknowledged this issue, there is no clear timeline for a fix, and no accommodations have been provided. I am expected to continue driving a vehicle that does not meet expected safety standards, which puts both myself and others at risk. I rely on my vehicle daily, including transporting passengers, and the lack of a functioning safety system is a serious concern. The absence of communication and support from Ford regarding a resolution is also concerning. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this issue and require Ford to provide a timely remedy or appropriate accommodations, such as a loaner vehicle or interim solution, to ensure driver and public safety while awaiting a permanent fix.
Rear window (rear flip up over tail gate) spontaniously shattered and required full replacement.

A serious safety recall advised in July of 2025 still has not been fixed.
The vehicle was parked and not in operation when a fire occurred. There was no collision or impact. The fire originated in the vehicle and caused significant damage. Emergency services responded to extinguish the fire. The vehicle had been properly maintained and there were no aftermarket modifications. The cause of the fire is unknown at this.
Front camera only works about 1/4 of the time. Most of the time its just black.
Ford has 3 safety recalls on 2021 Ford Bronco and they have no remedy to fix any of them yet. My car stalled out 3 times now because of the low pressure fuel pump failure recall. I was pulling out into traffic and it stalled out while a car was coming at me. The only solution Ford had was to put old parts in the car which I refused. I asked for a loaner vehicle and they said they don’t have any. Recall warning is going on 6 months. I am at a risk and other people are at a risk having my car on the road, tried lemon law and Ford denied me. Nobody feels safe in my car and someone is going to get seriously hurt if this happens at the wrong time.
The turn signal stalk automatically switches the active turn signal to the opposite turn signal after a turn is completed, with no turn signal sound for the new opposite side signal. This is repeatable and has occurred since the purchase of the new vehicle. Example: engaging the left turn signal using the stalk initiates the left turn signal. However, once the left turn is completed and the stalk clicks back into its neutral position, the right signal is automatically engaged, and there is no sound accompanying the flashing right turn indicator light on the dashboard. Other owners and drivers of this make and model have complained on social media about this issue, which can create havoc in certain traffic situations.
Back piece of hardtop cracked on each side, front three pieces had honeycombing and ripples down each side that you could see and feel. The dealership warrantied them out , but my front three pieces still have issues. The dealerships also told me if this happens outside of my 3yr/36,000mi warranty that they will not fix the issue even though parts typically have a 2 yr warranty on them after being replaced. But, this isn't a normal part, this is my roof/hardtop. This is a safety concern. I never received any lights, messages, or symptoms that I know of. There could have been leaking water in the back part of my Bronco. The safety of others and myself were put at risk because, there were cracks in my roof and what if it cracked all the way through and broke off?.
Rear window of 2024 Bronco spontaneously broke with a loud bang while driving 40 mph down 2 lane smooth asphalt road in town, 55 degrees outside. Only 8000 miles on vehicle. Nobody else was on the road, there are no sidewalks. It would be impossible for a rock or other object to hit it from the back while I was driving 40mph. There was nothing being transported inside the back area of the vehicle and no sudden braking or movements in the car. The entire window exploded into the vehicle while all supporting parts dangled. I drove directly to the Ford dealership who confirmed it, took pictures, vacuumed up the window, and filed a claim, but Ford corporate denied a warranty claim. Similar stories can be found on [xxx] , facebook, reddit, and [xxx] . It sounded like a gunshot and then the interior of the car was sprayed with glass. I assume other glass fell outward as well. There were no other indications or warnings, and this is a vehicle driven for pleasure. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Soft top cable that secures stop top became loose or broke. Only opened the top 5-10 times. There is now I rattle and the top is not secure. This is horrible. I have found this mentioned mulitple online threads trying to figure out how to fix. This is obviously a manufacture defect. I bought the Bronco in Feb of 2025.
The instrument cluster cracked. Woke up one day and it was cracked. The crack is traveling through the important screens. Cord won’t do anything, but dozens have reported online.

The hard top of my 2022 Bronco has started to crack and Ford will not view it as a defect even when provided with pictures I know other Bronco owners that also have this defect. The back of my hardtop has never been removed and that’s where a lot of the cracks present.
Tried to get my vehicle fixed under recall Ford mistakenly told me that these were aftermarket rear shocks and that they weren't covered upon fixing the vehicle myself and bringing the shocks into a different dealership they told me that they were covered and should have been fixed under recall I've been trying to get reimbursed by Ford for this and I've been getting the runaround I've been promised call backs from supervisors and have not got any they are well past their 60 day window per their policy to respond this is going on 6 months now I've been trying to get reimbursed for this fix.
Vehicle was parked in driveway and put into park. After getting out of vehicle and walking into house we noticed the car started to roll forward and by the time we could react the car was picking up speed and rolled into a tree at the end of our driveway. A few days prior while driving 40 mph near our house the car inadvertently went into neutral without notice and without switching the gear shifter and we had to put the shifter back into drive while moving.
When I purchased my vehicle I noticed the round rod that contains the backup camera, which is mounted on the spare tire bracket to be all scratched and scruffed up. The dealership (hawk Ford, carol stream) agreed to replace this. Their are scratches inside where the camera sits around the threading and the rod it self is all banged up. I showed the dealer ship this and they replaced the mounting bracket, not the rod so when I got my car back I contacted them right away and sent before and after pictures. Manager went into lot and said all of the other ones he checked had the same issue. He was going to contact Ford to see if they were aware and how to go about this concern affecting my vehicle and all others on their lot. It should be new with no physical defects, but it appears used. When you buy a new car, you expect everything to be new and look new but this does not.
The vehicle currently has three active recalls with each not having a remedy as of to date although one I was notified of 7 months ago. I have already had to have a faulty fuel pump repair within the first month or so of onset of purchase where vehicle just lost power and died on side of the road and had to be towed. Then had to fight the dealership and write complaint to Ford after having defective camshaft which took multiple attempts and documentation for Ford and the dealership to repair properly. Vehicle would shift between 2wd/4wd/awd randomly while driving. Then I had been notified about a windshield wiper motor recall that just dropped of out the system before attempting repair. So never had that update ran or problem addressed. Now I have three other major safety recalls. Definitely a lemon. Need Ford to stand behind their vehicle. I pay way too much not be safe. None of these failure or problems provided any prior warming indicators.
Subject: unresolved safety recall – Ford Bronco to whom it may concern, I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding an outstanding safety recall on my Ford Bronco. I received a recall notification letter from the manufacturer in January of this year concerning a critical safety issue. However, as of today’s date, the issue has not been resolved, nor have I received a clear timeline for repair. When I first purchased the vehicle, I noticed a pronounced bouncing sensation while driving at speeds around 70 mph. I brought this to the attention of the dealership, but they assured me that the vehicle was functioning normally and that there was nothing wrong. However, the existence of this unresolved recall has made me question whether the issue I experienced is truly unrelated—or if it was early evidence of a deeper safety concern. I feel unsafe driving the car, and no receiving any information about when the necessary parts or services will be available. This delay in action leaves my vehicle potentially unsafe and creates significant inconvenience, as I rely on it for daily transportation. I urge the NHTSA to investigate the prolonged delay in remedying this recall. Consumers deserve prompt and transparent resolution when their safety is at risk. Please advise on any further steps I should take to escalate this issue and keep me informed of any actions that may be taken. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
While attempting to back up I was checking my backup camera and it showed that nothing was behind me, as I started to turn while backing up I felt a bump, there was a car right behind me, I couldn’t see it in my mirror and apparently the camera was frozen on my Bronco.
There’s been reported weakness in the back glass due to manufacturer defect in back window parked spontaneously shattered and window shocks shot through window, Ford doesn’t have any current open recall but customer service says they have several people call with this, it’s being reported on the internet but again they won’t honor recall or manufacture warranty, I just bought this car a couple weeks ago.
I am sending a complaint as I purchased this vehicle brand new from the dealer in June. They have not been able to give me my vehicle because Ford has not come up with a fix on these two recalls. My complaint is how long does Ford have to make this right? they keep extending the recall dates out from a month or so to now 4th quarter. I am paid for a vehicle that I can't use because of Ford's delay. I am hoping you all as a government agency will give back some feedback and push Ford to fix the issue a bit more timely.
Child safety locks on back left door do not lock allowing back seat passengers to open door freely and endangering everyone in vehicle.
Abs light going off when parked in reverse on an inclined hill with the left side of vehicle on a higher level than right. Pre collision showing as unavailable as well as service advanctrac and park brake limited function service required all displayed on odometer screen.
My vehicle was sitting in a small parking lot at work and the back liftgate glass blew out onto the pavement. It was 95 degrees outside. The liftgate arms and all the shattered glass were on the outside of my vehicle. I called the dealership and was told nothing they could do and they didn't even ask to look at it. I paid out of pocket to replace the glass. Then on January 24th when it was -25 degrees I remote started my vehicle and it ran for about 10 minutes, I went outside to leave for work, got in started my vehicle and looked in the rearview mirror and noticed the leads for the rear defrost were hanging down. I got out of my vehicle to find shattered glass all over my driveway and the liftgate glass arms outside of my vehicle. I called Ford and I called the Ford dealership. No help. Just told they've never heard of this happening. Well, I told them the1st time it happened and this is the second time. Brought to the dealership and no answers. Asked if they reported this and the last incident to Ford as it's my understanding they are to notify corporate. Nothing. I asked them to see if there was a short in the rear defrost or any other reason why this is happening. I got a to bad so sad, if ya want it fixed it will be $1700. There are no warnings that this will happen.
I have a new issue with my Bronco. While it drives well most of the time, I now regularly encounter a problem where multiple error messages pop up on the screen (sequentially) while I am driving, causing the vehicle to effectively, stop responding. The engine remains on, and I don't lose power to the brakes or steering, but the car won't react when I press the gas pedal. It seems like it's some critical failure safety measure, though feels critically unsafe when it occurs. When surrounded by other vehicles, at speed, I am forced to coast to a stop (with a prayer). Usually, when I put it in park, turn off the vehicle, and get out, it will reset all of the errors and work again. This situation is quite dangerous, especially when I'm around other cars. I contacted Ford, but they fit me in for two weeks. Here are the error codes that appear in order: -4x4 off -service vehicle soon -service advance trac -check 4x4 -pre-collision assist not available -service advance track.
After avis Ford replaced my seatbelt on the driver’s side, my vehicle began to rattle from underneath the same area and in the front. The seatbelt side was serviced twice, and now the car feels unsafe. The dealership refused to re-inspect and told me to fix it out of pocket. I’m concerned this may be a structural or safety-related defect caused by improper repair.
Roof leaking water on the hardtop Bronco I own will be going to the dealer for the second time to address this issue. Order comes in next to glove box on the passenger side.
Hello, I previously wrote about this problem under id#116588898 however I feel as though it did not explain what happened correctly. As I was backing out of my garage, I stopped my vehicle putting it in park. After putting my vehicle in reverse and looking in my mirrors I didn't see anything behind me. (a blind spot) I was on an angle. My radio was on and as I proceeded in reverse, I hit a car that was in my driveway. There was no damage to my vehicle however there is about $3900 damage to the car behind me where the spare tire crushed the trunk lid and rear left qtr. At no time did I hear any warning lights, the radio did not lower, and warning lights and sounds were not doing the job of what they were supposed to do. As I thought about it, I'm not even sure the camera was on. I hope this explains this a little better than id# 11658898. Sorry for the inconvenience of reporting this twice. If the other can be deleted that would be appreciated.
