Unknown grinding sound when at idle or in/out of gear ( manual transmission) sounds like transfer case. Other owners of 2021-2023 Broncos regardless of trim levels have heard this sound with their Broncos as well (manual trans).

The soft top headliner is detaching from the main roof structure right above the driver. This secondary liner is now impeding my view of the road and my view out the passenger side window. This "inner" liner has been pushed back into place numerous times but it is continuing to fall un-expectantly when I am operating the vehicle. This is very startling to be struck in the head from this inner liner at any time. The dealer is stating this is not under warranty to be repaired and I would have to purchase a new top at my expense - will the next top have the same problem? I am aware from internet searches that a TSB exists for model years '21-'23. [xxx] - our Ford is a 2024. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I had multiple issues with the window/door drivers side rear. At first the door would not open because of the window getting stuck up. The window would also get stuck open at times. The vehicle was brought back to the dealership 3x for this same issue. The top seam (weather strip) appeared to "fall" down and trap it and then other times the window wouldn't completely close and you could hear whistling sound from the air forcing through the space. This had been going on until this past week when while driving on the highway the window just shattered into pieces. Thankfully no one was in that seat at the time.
The rear backup camera intermittently is black or has the last backup image being shown. I took my Bronco into the Ford dealer where nothing could be found wrong after having my Bronco for two days. I was told if the backup camera malfunctioned happened again to take video and pictures of what happened, then bring into the dealer that day if the dealer was open so they could see if they issue remained. I did and was told by another service representative the service department couldn't take a look at the vehicle today a Friday and to bring it in Monday. When I got back my Bronco and restarted the rear camera was functioning correctly. I do have pictures and video of the last image remaining when I placed my Bronco in reverse. One image on the left side of the img_5347. Jpeg attached shows the image of the reverse image prior to the current backup image. The right side of the picture shows the actual image in reverse. The image img_5348. Jpeg shows the mileage and the vehicle in reverse. The pdf documents the Ford dealer service department could not find the issue that happen prior to 09/04/2024 service date. I have a video of trying to use the backup camera with the previous image shown in left side of the screen showing what happens. It doesn't happen all the time. If you turnoff vehicle and restart the issue goes away.
While traveling out of town the key fob unpaired from the vehicle while stopped at a gas station. We were locked out of the vehicle and the key fob would not unlock the vehicle. We were able to use the app to unlock the vehicle, but the vehicle would not detect the key. We replaced the batter in the key fob, but the issue persisted. Luckily we used youtube to find a solution, which is to place the key in the bottom of the center console. The key fob will intermittently unpair from the vehicle. I believe this to be a common problem with Ford vehicles given that we found a solution on youtube and there are a number of online forums where this issue is discussed. Had we not had the app, we would have been stranded hours from home with no way to access our vehicle.

Since I purchased my vehicle I noticed that the left blinker would turn on sometimes when I put my right blinker on and made a right turn. Usually when you use your right blinker and make a right hand turn, as soon as your vehicle straightens out the blinker should then go off. Instead, this triggers the left blinker to turn on by itself. I am very concerned for my safety and my children's safety as others my think I am turning and I am not. I actually just got off the phone with the department and also got your email address, and will also email my concerns as well. This has been "attempted" to be fixed by Ford, and has been unsucessful. They currently do not have a "fix" for this safety problem. I purchased the Bronco in July 2024 and has 10k miles on it.
The rear tailgate latch malfunctioned. When the doors are locked using the key fob or auto door locks the tailgate pops open. When you get up to speeds over 11mph triggering the door auto-locks, the tailgate pops open and swings out.
My vehicle was parked but left running. I went around to obtain my daughter from the rear passenger. While holding her I leaned in to the passenger front and pressed the button to turn off the vehicle when it suddenly began to roll in reverse. It's unknown to me what could have caused the incident but something failed/malfunctioned. Something within possibly the gear shifter glitched when power was cut off?.
Loss of power.
The display screen freezes up disabling all functions. Including back up camera,a/c, and radio.
I customer ordered 2023 Bronco from Ford in 1/2023. It was delivered on 3/7/23. I paid for vehicle in full. Upon getting in Bronco to drive home I noticed a defective steering wheel with bumps all over it. They cut into my fingers. I notified Ford right then on 3/7/23. I also noticed defective knuckle punch on rear tail door of Bronco that holds spare tire, etc. I notified Ford. They have wasted a year lying to me by email and telephone messages telling me they are not responsible for these defects. I documented and photographed issues and had crown Ford in lynbrook, NY inspect vehicle and photograph issues and send them to Ford headquarters in michigan. Ford refuses to made repairs/corrections under a manufacturer's warrent or through the lemon law, etc. This was a brand new factory built and delivered Ford Bronco. It was never on a showroom floor or test driven. It was ordered, paid, and picked up by me. I have offered to have work done and provide Ford the reciepts but they refuse to do anything to rectify the situation.
The hardtop developed cracks early on during the life of the vehicle. It leaks water. It’s a known issue with Bronco owners with the factory hardtop. Some people have had it replaced more than 3 times due to the same thing continuing to happen.
I was towing the vehicle with my class a RV. It was a total loss nothing could be inspected. I was in hour number 6 of our long drive to key west. I looked out of my left side mirror and noticed smoke coming from behind my RV. I immediately pulled off the interstate onto the shoulder. I moved behind my RV and noticed the vehicle was on fire. Within in seconds the fire engulfed the whole vehicle. I had seconds to unhook it from my RV. It took me three tries to unhook because of the smoke. I eventually got it unhooked and went back to the front of the RV and pulled forward out of harms way.
The transmission has a grinding or scraping noise when clutch is not engaged. No warning lamps or messages. It has been below 50 degrees, but even after the day warms, the noise is still there. I have not taken it to the dealer yet as there are many reports from other people with the same issue and all have been told it is "normal" when it gets cold. This does not make sense. I have had manual transmissions in the past and have never heard this type of noise when it was cold.
The hard top convertible is leaking in multiple areas. Primary location is behind the second-row drive side between trunk area and back seat. Other area is between the two front seats in the center. The gaskets have been replaced one time already and its back at local Ford dealership a second time for same problem. Dates for repairs include 8/9/23 and 9/11/23.
The whole truck shut off, dashboard, stereo, engine, while driving and in gear. Had to drift over safely to a stop to restart the engine. The safety of my children and myself were in danger due to this catastrophic failure. No warning lights, no previous problems.
Since I took delivery of my 2023 Ford Bronco on August 1, 2023 I have not been able to connect to the Fordpass (get updates, etc. . ). Dealer replaced the gateway module and has not been able to load software onto the module. The gateway module is a "hub" that routes signal to major components of the vehicle (safety, body control, telematics, power train, etc. . ). Since replacing the gateway module, Ford has been unable to get the software to load properly. This issue has manifested itself in not only the Bronco, but the f-150 and Bronco sport as well. My vehicle has been in dealership for this fix for over 10 weeks. Given this is a critical component to vehicle safety and I have seen on Bronco and f150 forums over 50 cases of this I believe someone needs to question the ability of Ford to service such a critical component of vehicle safety.
The rear hardtop panel on my 2022 Ford Bronco has developed serious cracking and surface separation after only three years of light, garage-kept use. The fiberglass is fracturing near the seams, exposing the underlying material. Water is now visibly collecting in the openings, which will lead to internal moisture intrusion, mold, and eventually corrosion of structural components underneath the hardtop mounting area. This poses a serious long-term safety concern, especially in the event of rear impacts or rollover situations. A Ford dealer inspected the issue and submitted a warranty claim, which was denied. The Ford representative acknowledged the damage but said they could not act without a recall or broader investigation. No warning lights or messages appeared; the issue is external and has progressed gradually. The damage began well before my bumper-to-bumper coverage expired, but has recently worsened. Ford’s own general service bulletin gsb 23-7174 lists rear hardtop panel cracking and edge delamination as warrantable conditions. My panel clearly fits those descriptions. Still, I was quoted nearly $10,000 for a full replacement, which is unreasonable. This is not an isolated case. Many 2021–2022 Bronco owners have posted identical problems online. Ford is clearly aware of this issue—which is why they issued that bulletin—but is denying claims unless pressured through complaints. I believe this is a materials or manufacturing defect and ask NHTSA to investigate this clear and ongoing failure.
These vehicles have a warning to keep hands on wheels and when on straights it goes off when hands are on the wheel and is annoying you have to rock the wheel back amd forth causing the vehicle to swerve alot of people are saying they have to do the same thing on forums.
The soft top on the 2022 four door Bronco does not properly latch. I know earlier years and some 2022s were recalled for this but mine has not been recalled and it needs to be addressed. Also the back up camera and 360 cameras do not work.
Issues started at 9000 miles doors/windows shaking badly, worse over street imperfections. Cannot roll windows down half way as the shaking is to point of breaking, glass has potential to shatter endangering driver and passenger noise in rear of vehicle, possible the roof panel or liftgate issues were inspected by 2 Ford dealers on 3 separate occasions temporary adjustment made to doors/windows until the fix is in - 2023 rear noise ongoing.
Frequently, due to a software glitch recognized by Ford, the steering wheel controls fail to change the audio preset. When this happens, the driver must take their eyes off the road to adjust the radio station, which can be distracting. The problem will persist until the vehicle is restarted, and is often only noticed while driving.
Nhtsa is showing that there is an open recall on this vehicle. I have spoken to Ford corporate and also taken the vehicle to 2 different dealers who have all communicated the same thing: there is no recall, nor has there ever been a recall for this vehicle. I have asked the dealer to report this to NHTSA and they said that they cannot due to there is no recall to report and they've never reported a recall. I have called Ford twice, NHTSA twice and gone to 2 dealers. No one at NHTSA has been willing to help get the information corrected. I have asked if someone can simply verify the information with Ford online or if we can place a 3 way call with Ford-the response I'm getting is "no" but I'm stuck in the middle of Ford and NHTSA and no one seems to even be willing to help me at either place. If I have paperwork from Ford insisting there has never been a recall and you can clearly pull the records online that there is no recall I need NHTSA to update their records. This is costing me $ as I purchased this vehicle to turo and cannot do so until you update your records to match Ford showing that there is no recall.
Sync 4 system has a critical issue that Ford has not fixed and is a known issue in many sync 4 systems. This causes the system to reboot at random times and reload. This includes being black and not working for many minutes so the rear camera and cross traffic do not function at all. This is a safety issue as with most suvs the rear is a huge blind spot. Ford has not been able to update my system with a recall issued for safety concerning a different issue and the rear view camera. Ford will not replace the unit until they have sent out an update that is unknown release date. I have spoke to Ford reps and two dealerships and all refuse to fix the radio to allow for normal function.
Emergency brake failure. I have a very slight slope on my driveway. My car rolled halfway down my driveway. I assumed I did something wrong although I knew I had the car in gear with the e brake on. Two hours later I came back from an errand parked on my driveway was sitting in my car and my car started rolling backwards. The car was off in gear with the e brake on. I videotaped this happening every 20 seconds the car with balance, and roll back an inch or two. After 4 1/2 minutes, the car rolled the rest of the way down my driveway until it hit the street where it was flat. The car was in gear turned off with the e brake on, and nothing stopped the car from rolling. I tried putting it in an out of gear as this was happening and stomping on the break and nothing happened. I tried several times until it came to a complete stop. I have reported this to Ford. They took a complaint they don’t know what to tell me to do. They don’t have any recalls on my vehicle. This happened two times in the day. The second time was much worse. There were children riding bikes in the street behind my vehicle. I don’t know if the safe to drive this vehicle and the dealer is not able to give me any information. Ford customer service is not able to give me any information. I have video of this. I am not able to upload it to this site. I can email it or any other way that you would prefer.
In late March 2023, the touchscreen on my Bronco went dead, along with the usb ports in the console below. With the dead screen, I have no back up camera, which is a huge safety concern. Also, all other features managed by the touch screen are gone (no radio, no navigation, no hands free phone usage, etc. ). I have been to the dealer twice, and they said we just have to wait for Ford engineers to send a patch to the sync system, because they think it has interfered with the apim module. This may or may not be related to the open recall 22c27, because that is not the same issue as mine. But Ford just is telling me to wait for that recall to be completed, but for four months and counting they have not provided a patch for the 8-inch screen model that I have. I have been given no other options except potential buy back of the vehicle.
Transmission makes horrible noises.
Ford recall 23c05 states that the accessory protocol interface module software update is still incomplete. This was issued in March of 2023 with an expected remedy by the end of 2023. One month later, I still have not received a resolution to this issue. I cannot use this vehicle for my business because of an open recall. I feel that Ford has an obligation to resolve this matter in a timely manner and that time has past.
Vehicle deemed by dealer as "unsafe to drive". . . I sent you complaint about a month or more back with no response. . . . The 2021, 2022, 2023s all are being received brand new with noise starting shortly after. . . . Several hundred of us brand new 7 speed manual transmission Bronco owners are experiencing this. . . . . Dealers are telling us drive them. . . . Mine got to the point the gears began locking up, grinding and the engine randomly high reving which could all of cause me to get into an accident. A recall needs made on these. Someone is going to get hurt trying to make a turn in traffic and lossing power to get nailed by oncoming traffic. Mine now sits with the dealer and parts are back ordered till March. . . TSB 22-2371 which Ford released for this has been unsuccessful on every documented repair. Noise returns. New transmission noise also returns. Do something and get these vehicles recalled so Ford address the true safety concern that's being ignored. Mine is a great example of what's going to happen to everyone's.
On 2/08/2023, I came out of my garage and backed my Bronco to our fence gate to feed our horse. I left the vehicle running with the heat on. The outside air was 20-40 degrees and raining. When I came back to the vehicle there was a crack from the outer edge of the windshield approximately six or more inches across. From the driver's side towards the passenger side. I had driven the Bronco the day before and there was no damage or crack. When the crack occurred, no one was in the vehicle. When I brought the Bronco back to the house, I wiped the rain away for a picture and found a very tiny chip in the crack. I'm not sure if a tiny rock did the damage or if that was from the windshield cracking. The chip is smaller than a pinhead and less than a millimeter deep.
Component- cruise control cutout switch recall# 05s28. Performed repaired on 6 June 2006. Called my dealership regarding this recall, they adamantly refuse to perform a repair on my vehicle due to the fact that my vehicle repair history shows no open recalls. However an supplemental order order#16 was issued sometime in 2016 by Ford regarding this same matter stated that the repairs performed do not correct the problem and a new part must be installed. My vehicle does not have the repair that corresponds to this supplemental order, hence it shows no open recalls, apparently it was ignored by the previous owner. I called Ford national customer service and I was told that is up to the dealer. The dealer service manager informed me that due to no recalls open shown in my vehicle repair history I would have to pay for the repair labor and the part. The danger of fire is imminent if this is not repaired ASAP. I cannot do the repair myself or other than an authorized dealer for if anything happens I will be liable. I need that your agency assists me with this very critical situation.
On January 17, 2023, while driving down a commonly driven road (muldoon) in anchorage, alaska at approximately 30 mph, I suddenly heard a large air escaping noise "psh psh psh psh" and it took me a moment to realize what was happening--the dash indicated the psi of my rear driver's-side tire was deflating rapidly, to completely flat. Had the vehicle lost control in these snowy conditions, it could have ran into multiple other cars on the road--not ruling out the possibility of a roll-over type accident. When I pulled over into a parking lot, I figured that it was just a flat tire, so I jacked up the vehicle. However, at about the point that the front driver's side tire was leaving the ground, but the rear one wasn't, I determined there must have been an additional issue. I looked behind the tire at the suspension, and it appears that an arm of the suspension had broken off and either destabilized the tire to the point where it lacked a seal around the rim and the air leaked out entirely, or put a hole in the tire. No hole was identifiable, but the tire was so deflated it was hard to tell. When I called the dealership, kendall Ford of anchorage, they let me know that they didn't have an appointment until March 2023--at which point I refuted that making me wait 2 months with an undriveable vehicle with under 5,000 miles on it was unacceptable--especially for the price I paid (nearly $70,000). No one has been able to inspect the part yet, but it is clear from photos that the rear suspension on the driver's side does not match the passenger's side rear suspension. There were no warning of failure before this occurred, and the vehicle had been treated very well--it has never been off trail or offroading in the sense that it was in an untraveled area. It has been to archangel pass once, but I would not consider this offroading because the trail is not particularly difficult to pass.
Soft top leaks when it rains. Contacted local Ford dealership and they have advised a design flaw from Ford, that they cannnot fix. Contacted Ford motor CO. To advise of problem. They claim they are unaware of such issue and no fix at this time.
