1 Power Train problem of the 2023 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 02/23/2026

Automatic 10 speed transmission has unpredictable shifting from 1st through 3 gears, offten with long lags between shifts, losing power temporarily, especially from 1st to 2nd gear, and harsh shifting. Sometimes, the 1st - 2nd shift lag happens upon acceleration during merging or in an intersection and that loss of power is critical, requiring an adjustment in throttle position, and when 2nd gear catches, then there is too much power. It is unpredictable. The Bronco has about 35k miles now, but this has happening since day 1. Twice in dealer, twice the tech noted it, and twice the only solution was to clear the adaptive shift control memory. Does not fix the issue.

2 Power Train problem of the 2022 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 02/01/2026

I have experienced a loss of fuel pressure/engine stall on several occasions. I am not sure of the specific dates yet I had to add one on this form. There has been a recall since July 2025, for which Ford has acknowledged this increases the risk of a crash yet there is still no resolution. This is unacceptable, I have listed the recall numbers below. Manufacturer recall number 25s75 NHTSA recall number 25v455.

3 Power Train problem of the 2022 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 01/31/2026

I believe my vehicle has suffered a cracked/fractured or broken intake valve on cylinder number 4. There is very low compression in that cylinder. I checked it and it only managed to produce 25psi. I inspected the cylinder with a borescope camera and there is no damage or excessive wear to the piston or cylinder bore. They both look pristine with no signs of anything. I could not see either the intake or exhaust valves on my camera. They are the only pieces of the engine I could not inspect that could possible cause a compression issue. It is my understanding that Ford is aware of an issue of this happening on some 2. 7 ecoboost engines?.

4 Power Train problem of the 2025 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 01/06/2026

While driving, after a missed downshift that causes engine bogging, the vehicle experiences a loss of engine power. The engine remains running but will not produce usable torque and will not rev above approximately 800 rpm, despite clutch disengagement and selecting the correct gear. Holding the clutch fully depressed does not immediately restore power; instead, after approximately 4 seconds, the engine stalls or cycles/resets, after which normal operation resumes. The condition persists until the vehicle nearly stops, the engine stalls, or the ignition is cycled. This has occurred in traffic and adverse weather conditions and is repeatable. ”.

5 Power Train problem of the 2023 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 01/06/2026

Front differential mounts are cracking and breaking leading to insecure front differential and damage to adjacent suspension and power train components. This is a significant risk to both the driver/occupants and potentially other vehicles on the road. This problem is appearing with increasing frequency on the Ford Bronco forums to the point that Ford now has a TSB out relating to this known engineering failure. It require an extensive repair including rewelding the mounting brackets. There appears to be inadequate guidance to the repairing dealers, however, as there is a large degree of uncertainty as to how to approach executing the weld repair, according to my dealer, corwin Ford, in spokane, washington.

6 Power Train problem of the 2025 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 11/01/2025

The slave cylinder failed causing the clutch to not fully disengage burning out the clutch at only 783 miles on the vehicle. Ford headquarters claims driver misuse, dealership disagrees at such low mileage.

Failure Date: 07/12/2025

Recall remedy not available. Causing safety concerns while driving.

10 Power Train problem of the 2021 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 07/08/2025

Component or system that failed or malfunctioned: the fuel delivery system, specifically the fuel pump, which is subject to an active safety recall. The recall states that fuel pump failure can result in loss of fuel pressure and flow, leading to engine stall. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. How safety was put at risk: a sudden engine stall while driving would result in an immediate loss of propulsion and power, creating a significant risk of collision, particularly at highway speeds or in traffic. This creates a dangerous situation for the driver, passengers, and surrounding vehicles due to the inability to accelerate or maintain speed. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or service center: the defect has been confirmed by the manufacturer through an official safety recall. At this time, there is no repair remedy available. The vehicle has not yet been repaired due to lack of an available fix. Has the vehicle or component been inspected: the vehicle has not yet been physically inspected for this specific failure because the recall remedy is not available. The defect has been acknowledged by the manufacturer as part of the active recall. Warning lamps, messages, or symptoms prior to failure: at this time, there is no warning indicating when or if the fuel pump may fail. The recall states the failure may occur without warning. No prior warning lamps or messages have reliably indicated when the failure could occur. Additional information: due to the nature of this defect and the lack of an available repair, I no longer feel the vehicle is safe to operate. The uncertainty of a sudden engine stall has created ongoing safety concerns and financial hardship, as I am responsible for a vehicle that may fail without warning.

11 Power Train problem of the 2023 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 07/06/2025

The contact owns a 2023 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and flat towing an RV, the flat-tow mode inadvertently disengaged and the contact smelled a burning odor permeating the interior of the vehicle with the message "stop vehicle immediately, excessive temperature detected" displayed. The transmission temperature warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that there was damage to the transmission and turbocharger due to the flat-tow mode not being engaged properly during towing. The contact was informed that the transmission and turbo charger needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to technical service bulletin: 22-7086. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The contact was later informed that the manufacturer concluded that the disengagement of flat-tow mode was the result of user error. The manufacturer declined to cover the cost of the repair. The contact contested the manufacturer’s findings as inconceivable, stating that the flat-tow mode was still engaged after arriving at his destination. The failure mileage was 50,200.

12 Power Train problem of the 2024 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 06/29/2025

While vehicle was on a boat ramp the vehicle”s gear shift was put into the park position. The vehicle’s park gear failed to engage and it continued to roll backwards. Additional attempts to then put the vehicle into drive also failed to respond. My brand new 2024 Ford Bronco that only had just over 2300 miles on it, continued to roll backwards until it was completely submerged underwater. The vehicle had to be pulled out of the water by another truck!!! with my wife and children watching I was fortunate enough to escape without drowning!!!!.

13 Power Train problem of the 2024 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 04/08/2025

The contact owns a 2024 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the "pre-collision system fault detected" message was displayed. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that later while driving at an undisclosed speed, the "powertrain fault detected - reduced power”, “service engine soon" and "brake fault detected" messages were displayed. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the brake actuator. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 5,000.

The contact pulled over to retrieve sunglasses from the vehicle and became aware that there was an odor of transmission fluid coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, who confirmed there was no warranty coverage for the failure. The dealer stated that the failure was due to operator error. The vehicle was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 10,642.

15 Power Train problem of the 2022 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 04/01/2025

Good afternoon! my car started having issues going in reverse before I received the recall notification. It would nearly stall out and happened a couple times prior to getting the notice. Once I got the notice, I reached out to the dealer to see if anything could be done and was told no, not yet. Now, months later, it has gotten so bad that I am having to leave my house when it's cool (it doesn't stall as bad when it's cool out), and park my car in a certain way each day to ensure that I can effectively leave work without my car stalling. What is worse is that now, on hot days, my car semi-stalls, when I am driving on toll roads or back country roads on the way home. It loses power or jerks. I have an hour commute each way and this is not okay. Frankly, it is very scary sometimes. I have reached out to the dealership to ask them if it's safe for me to drive my car or if there is something they could do and I am constantly told that there is no solution, I have to wait, and they "legally" cannot tell me that it is safe to drive my car. They offered the option to rent a car, but I would have to pay a minimum of $45 out of pocket, per day, and I cannot afford to do that! I am already paying $600 a month for this car, now they want me to pay an additional $1350-$1395 a month just so I can feel safe? this has been going on for roughly 7 months. Who knows how long a "solution" will take. 7 months x $1350 a month = I would be out almost $9500 on top of my car payment with no end in sight. I feel like this is moving at a snails pace. The problem is getting worse and I am getting the run around. No help is being offered to make me feel safe driving this car! they seem annoyed when I ask about it (I have only reached out three times in the last 4 months). The recall even says that it could stall while driving. So, honestly, what is it going to take for me to not die in a crash when my car stops on a high-speed road? seriously. What can be done?.

16 Power Train problem of the 2022 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 02/01/2025

Vehicle was shifted into 4l on a relative flat surface. Vehicle would not indicate successful transfer to 4l, just a blinking 4l indicator light and then a message to place vehicle in n and then pull forward. After unsuccessful attempt to engage 4l, tried to return to regular driving mode and vehicle would not. After turning car off and even disconnecting battery, vehicle would not function as expected. Returned to the vehicle and got a powertrain malfunction error and service message. Called Ford and had it shipped to landers Ford in southaven mississippi and awaiting inspection.

17 Power Train problem of the 2024 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 11/02/2024

The left front driveshaft is a problem. Had a 2022 Ford Bronco and Ford did a rav lemon law. Bought a 2024 and now the same problem is happening again. Same issues and 800 miles on a new Bronco. Also on m 2022 had the hard top replaced 5 times and the axle 2 times. And the top now shows cracks with 800 miles as well. Thought Ford would figure it out. Bronco is a great vehicle, just horrible parts. The main thing is the driveshaft I feel be a huge safety issue!!! I hope Ford corporate looks here and gets feedback. By the way, happens after 20 or so minutes of driving, gets warm and it sounds like birds chirping and squeaking.

18 Power Train problem of the 2022 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 10/16/2024

I’ve complained to my local Ford dealer about 10-speed transmission issues including to several different service techs. There is a loud clunk and physical movement of the vehicle when shifting from park through to reverse and eventually to drive—it’s the p to r which is most noticeable. I’ve had 3rd party mechanics inspect the clunk, had Ford replace the driveshaft, conducted a trans fluid flush, but the clunk persists. I am concerned that one day, the vehicle will not shift out of park or potentially damage the transmission to an undriveable state outside of warranty. This has persisted for several years. I need Ford to replace the transmission and then conduct research into the issues with the old one once removed.

19 Power Train problem of the 2022 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 10/01/2024

The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, the “powertrain malfunction - reduced power fault” message was displayed and flickered on and off. The contact that the battery was losing the charge. The contact stated that the battery was at 70% charge. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 24v683000 (power train, electrical system). The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000.

20 Power Train problem of the 2022 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 09/12/2024

Unknown grinding sound when at idle or in/out of gear ( manual transmission) sounds like transfer case. Other owners of 2021-2023 Broncos regardless of trim levels have heard this sound with their Broncos as well (manual trans).

21 Power Train problem of the 2023 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 07/26/2024

3 separate times while driving on the on the interstate doing between 70-75 mph the vehicle completely lost power and an alert was displayed saying “powertrain malfunction”, the most recent incident was 07/26/24, before was 06/16/24 and 06/22/24. The vehicle speed dropped down to 35-40 and wouldn’t go any faster, and we had cars behind us, this created a major safety issue for me and my family. We had to pull over on the interstate, turn the car off and back on. We took it into the Ford service department, they said nothing was wrong with it and claimed they reset the computer.

22 Power Train problem of the 2023 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 06/02/2024

When the vehicle downshifts in the lower gears, specifically 3rd to 2nd, and 2nd to 1st, the vehicle will often dangerously accelerate, sometimes doubling the speed for a few seconds. This happens fairly consistently when using the lower gearing offroad mode but I've had it happen in normal modes too. There is a TSB that may deal with the issue (TSB 23-2352), but Ford service has not been cooperative with addressing it because they claim to not be able to reproduce the issue despite my having video evidence. I can provide videos if you'd like. I posted about this issue on a facebook group and apparently it is widespread.

23 Power Train problem of the 2022 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 05/15/2024

The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked inclined, the vehicle independently rolled backwards. The steering assist warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it has not been diagnosed yet. The contact is relating the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 23v070000 (power train). The dealer advised contact the vehicle was not included in that recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to call NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 23,000.

24 Power Train problem of the 2024 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 04/12/2024

I was driving down the road and the front end of the car started to shake. The power to the car then went out. The message on the dash said to put it in park and restart so I did. I was able to get it started, and put it in drive and then it shook again and the power went out. The message on my Ford app said that there were two issues with the transmission. One was a transmission shift solenoid not responding and the other message was that the transmission clutch did not apply within the time as expected resulting in delayed or hard shifts into another gear. Each time the gear was shifted after start up the entire truck went dead again.

25 Power Train problem of the 2023 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 03/29/2024

Front pinion seal leak is detected at where the front drive shaft meets the front differential. Ford attempted to fix it with a pinion seal replacement and the leak is still unresolved, second attempt was done by changing the front differential fluid which also did not resolve the issue. This issue is fairly common amongst Bronco owners on forums and will be hard to come to the users’ attention unless the user checks under the vehicle so the problem may be more widespread than reported. The undetected loss of front differential fluid may cause overheating of the front differential over time as the fluid levels become low and potentially cause a lockup at high speed when the vehicle is used in 4a awd mode. The leak can also be a fire hazard.

26 Power Train problem of the 2023 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 03/17/2024

On Sunday March 17th I experienced a mechanical failure while off road with my Bronco, after getting myself unstuck from a snowbank I had backed into, I heard a clicking coming from my right front wheel, and the clicking continued once I got myself out, I experienced my front wheels lock up twice and a “service 4x4 system” with a wrench, this appeared two different times. This occurred approximately 6. 6 to 7 miles up a trail and 9 miles from the nearest town with cell service. (trail up near coplay lake, wa. ) this “trail” was simply a snowy forest service road and something most vehicles could easily make. Ultimately, it was determined by the dealership that at approximately 12,300 miles my m190 open differential had completely failed and dealership is refusing to warranty the differential. Parts that failed? m190 4. 27 front differential. Warning lamps and symptoms ? service 4x4 lamp and front wheels completely locking up.

27 Power Train problem of the 2023 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 03/04/2024

The contact owns a 2023 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that upon backing his vehicle into his garage, he placed the gear shifter into park(p) and shut off the engine. Upon exiting the vehicle and approaching the home, the contact heard a loud crash and saw that the vehicle had backed into the garage door. The contact initially thought the vehicle was not placed into park(p); however, upon entering the vehicle, the contact saw that the vehicle was in the park(p) position. The contact stated that the crash damaged two panels on the garage door. The air bags did not deploy and no one was injured. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and informed them of the failure. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and was referred to the NHTSA hotline. The vehicle had yet to be diagnosed or repaired for the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 22,700.

28 Power Train problem of the 2023 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 02/16/2024

A grinding/rattling sound is coming from the manual transmission while in 1st & 2nd gear. This is a known issue with Ford, complete with its own TSB 23-2019. I took the car to my local Ford dealer, described the issue, and referenced the TSB. I was told later that the tech could not duplicate the issue. I then offered to drive and have the tech ride with me. We both agreed that it was an odd noise. The next day, I was told they didn't know what the issue was, and as far as they were concerned, the transmission was supposed to sound like that. They have otherwise blown me off and won't help.

29 Power Train problem of the 2022 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 12/24/2023

Battery charge, over heated, failed power train, and failed 4x4 happened all within seconds of each other. We were on a 2 lane hwy where there was very little room to pull off the main road. It was christmas eve and we were about 60 miles from home. We had to pay around $400 dollars to have it towed home and it was freezing outside while we waited.

30 Power Train problem of the 2022 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 12/12/2023

Car was in park and on a steep incline and rolled backwards. 6 months ago it rolled forwards when in a steep incline. The parking break was also set. It still rolled and I had to jump back into the car and step in break I checked it was in park and the parking break was on. I went into the house and my car had rolled into the ditch.

31 Power Train problem of the 2023 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 12/09/2023

Rotational scraping noise from manual transmission, especially when cold and neutral (1st and 2nd gear). Ford dealer at autonation Ford union city, georgia stated that they would need to replace the 5th and 6th synchronizer rings to resolve this issue. Bought certified used from capitol Ford in charlotte, nc with 8213 miles, hear noises but it was soft, but the more I drove the louder it got. Now Bronco has 9064 miles. No accidents, no off-roading, and this seems like a safety issue from the manufacturer because the shifting is difficult.

32 Power Train problem of the 2023 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 10/05/2023

1. Component/system that failed/malfunctioned — braking system (electronic parking brake and brake control modules) combined with electrical/communication defect preventing storage of diagnostic trouble codes (dtcs). Vehicle available for inspection upon request. 2. How safety was put at risk — repeated "park brake fault – service now" and "brake system fault" warnings on dash while driving risk sudden loss of parking brake function, reduced braking, or unexpected behavior (e. G. , transmission no-engagement beyond walking pace after cold start), impairing safe stopping/control and endangering driver and others. 3. Problem reproduced/confirmed by dealer — yes — reproduced/confirmed multiple times by authorized Ford dealer (town & country Ford, evansville, in) across five visits (invoices attached): active brake faults visible on dash during service, yet "no codes found," "unable to verify," "np no problem found. " examples: [xxx] (30,113 mi) brake fault while driving; [xxx]intermittent parking brake light, no codes; [xxx] transmission slip and brake fault, no codes. 4. Inspected by manufacturer, police, insurance, or others — inspected only by dealer. Ford cx team contacted (crm [xxx] , July 2025) but no further inspection/resolution. No police or insurance inspections. 5. Warning lamps/messages prior to failure and when first appeared — "park brake error message" and "park brake fault" warnings first documented ~25,722 miles (early visits after [xxx] purchase at 13 miles). No-dtc retention defect prevented earlier alerts/diagnosis. Symptoms escalated (transmission slip, cold no-start die-out, brake faults recurring). 6. Additional notes — out of service >60 cumulative days; loaner restricted to local driving only when provided. Part of indiana lemon law claim (bbb auto line case [xxx]). Due to 10-file/10mb upload limit, core documents attached; additional photos, full invoices, loaner agreement, bbb correspondence available upon request. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S.

33 Power Train problem of the 2022 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 10/02/2023

Ford is experiencing a problem under normal driving conditions on multi year Broncos (21' to current) that have very limited miles - with regards to the front pinion seal leaking badly (noticed during a routine oil change) and it appears to be imho a design flaw that not only impacts the seal but also the front differential, internal parts and possibly the axle. Any disruption to the drive train has the potential beyond just rendering the vehicle inoperable,. . While driving in 2 or 4wd conditions, the impacts could be widespread. Imho, Ford needs to look at the design and redesign and test. This has also happened multiple times on the same vehicle (from Bronco6g forum reports). In addition to the recall - Ford should immediately publish a TSB on this as wel.

34 Power Train problem of the 2022 Ford Bronco

Failure Date: 10/02/2023

My 2022 manual transmission has been making a scraping sound when cold since I bought it. I've had 2 dealerships not do anything about it and I feel for paying $65,000 for a vehicle, it shouldn't be making this noise and it could be a safety concern.
