Engine Failure problems of the 1997 Ford Contour

Two problems related to engine failure have been reported for the 1997 Ford Contour. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Engine Failure problem

Failure Date: 07/31/1998

Intermittent engine failure while driving. Vehicle would shut down for unknown reason. Vehicle been in/out of dealer shop on four occasions, and this condition has not been corrected. Dealer/manufacturer notified.

2 Engine Failure problem

Odor of something burning comes while driving over 60 mph (possible engine failure). Yh.
