Two problems related to speed control linkage have been reported for the 1998 Ford Contour. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Consumer was sent NHTSA recall 99v194000/mfr recall99s19, throttle linkages and control. Made an appointment on two different occasions. Took vehicle into dealer, but parts were not availalbe.
Whiledriving into garage with foot on brakes to slow down and to come to a stop,vehicle suddenly accelerated, causing driver to run through garage, resulting in total loss of vehicle.
