I have had problems with the seat belts in my car for about a year. Both seat belts in the front don't seem to retract and get tangeled and twisted all the time. I have manually adjusted them everytime I drove. Just 5 months ago I was involved in a car accident, I was stopped in traffic at a light and was rear ended causing me to hit the car infront of me. I hit my head on the steering wheel causing me a concusion. My seat belt did not retract to hold me back and the air bag did not deploy. I have called Ford and they told me that I should pay for the seat belts to be fixed and they did not metion anything about the airbag. I managed to untangle the seat belts on my car and I have noticed that the buckles are facing the wrong way. This I compared to other cars and Fords as well.

The front seat belts constantly get twisted and locked up. You have to stop and undo it to get it fixed. Also interior light will just come on. At 4 am on morning I just happened to look out and it was on. ?????? ts.
Consumer states that front seats are not stabilized and while driving the seats moves backwards. Ts.

I have experience defects with the seat belt buckles as well as the seat belts. The seat belts are constantly jamming. Therefore, I am unable to safely secure my children or myself when driving. Also the buckle does not fasten. Sometimes they would work and sometimes they would not. On this particular day the belt jammed for my six year old and the buckle would not lock for my three year old. I proceeded to turn left (after two cars gave my the right of way) into a parking lot while traffic was at a stand still. All of a sudden a car speeds by and forced me to brake suddenly. When I did this both my children heads hit the front passenger car seats. I began to wonder what would have happened to my children if I would have been involved in the accident. I have contacted a dealer to get them check out and fixed and I am contacting the manufacture.

Seat belt fails to retract when unbuckling the belt and exiting the vehicle, consumer states it's happened daily for 2 months.
Both front seat belt mechanisms frequently jam and non-functional. On several occasions I have managed to free them with time and effort. The last time, I was unable to unjam the belt and had to leave it at the dealership to be repaired. Dealer says Ford does not warranty seatbelts and I will have to pay the inevitable next time this happens.
Driver's side seat belt locked up, had to untwist belt to use it. Also, rear window fell out, nothing had hit it/ignition key switch would rattle when inserting key & taking it out, and sun roof lock was not working. Sunroof could not be opened or closed . Taking vehicle to dealer to check problems.
There is a short within the electrical system, causing the horn, brinker's and brake light's not to work. Also, all the rubber has fallen off the door panel, and the driver's side shoulder belt doesn't retract.
Front seat belt retractors do not retract for use or after use. Would be very limp in lap. Belts get twisted while retracting, but not completely. Taking vehicle to dealer to check belts out.
Both front seat belts would get tangled up and would not retract. Dealer notified, had both belts replaced on two occasions, problem still reoccurring.
When using rear seat belts, belts pull half way out, will not retract back. Belts are twisted or wrapped around mechanism inside door panel. Taking vehicle to dealership.

Front drivers side seat belt was pulled out and would not retract on its own. Dealer has been contacted.
Seat belt retractors consistently jam. This makes them useless in the event of an accident. The design of the front seatbelt mechanism (regardless of how far up or back the seat is adjusted) cause the belts to twist and jam. In order to unjam them, you must stop the car and fight with the seatbelts. Any movement loosens them and they do not retract. If there is an accident, the seatbelts are likely to cause more harm than protection.
Passenger's seat belt has become jammed within retracting mechanism, and would not release, causing seat belt to become inoperable. Please give any further details.
Transmission has a defect, there is a slip when you applying gears. Also, brake pedal goes all the way down to the floor, and grabs a little bit. Dealership is aware of problem. Brakes have failed, on one occasion consumer almost hit a child, brake pedal slips from under foot. Emergency brake is only effective 50 percent of the time. Transmission intermittently changes gears roughly, at times jarring occupants in the vehicle. Possible electrical problem: light of the clock has burned out twice, consumer states there are shorts in the dashboard, causing the heater or a/c to only have one speed working, dome lights work intermittently, light under dash works intermittently, warning bell does not chime all the times it should, consumer states a sensor causes heater to act as the ac and vice versa. Hinges not made properly, causing door movement while opening/closing, does not stop when it should. Seat blet retarction does not have enough elast, causing it not to retract properly, has gotten caught in the door jam. Alarm system has failed. Wheel cover cracked when a tire was being changed and another one fell off, consumer was not aware of the time or place it fell off.
Both rear seat belts failed to extend outward with one of the seat belt retractors trapping a child at one point. Second failure was that seat belt buckles/latches have fallen apart. Rear seat belts were not usable at all except middle lap belt. Please describe details.
Both the driver's side and passenger's side seatbelt do not retact during normal use. The seatbelts will fold over and become jammed approximately 4-5 times during the week. Would like to have the problem taken care of before someone is killed because a seatbelt does not retract and tighten up during an accident.
