Safety recall for the lcm was repaired by lameroux Ford in brookfield but the bypass was not preformed and the lcm is still acting up. Called and they want to charge me to look at the work they failed to do properly. Brought it to another mechanic who verified the lcm was not bypassed.
Our vehicle, a 2005 Crown Victoria used to transport blind and elderly. Vehicle was recalled under campaign #15s39 to repair a potentially defective lighting control module. Lights were working perfectly at time of recall. Ford did not repair or replace module, but they instead bypassed a function of the module by hacking/splicing into the original wiring harness and adding an external relay. Truly a band-aid. Now, less then a year later. Lights have failed completely. Ford technicians blame faulty lighting control module. Ford refuses to replace module, stating that the warranty part is working correctly, only the original (subject of the recall) part has failed. Again, Ford did not actually repair the car the first time, they only bypassed the lighting module. There is another recall on this vehicle involving the intermediate shaft for the steering column. I asked if they plan to 'fix' it by splinting with two popsicle sticks and rubber bands, then refuse to honor the repair when the original shaft fails. The customer service representative failed to respond.

Lighting control module is under Ford factory recall ! since 08/2014 I have many instances were it gets hot and shuts the headlites off. I have contacted power Ford in person when this first occurred. I have contacted Ford recall numerous times. I made contact with a person named t j @ Ford recall. Phone # 866-631-3788 ext #77751. He contacted a service mgr named larry @ power Ford and sent him a e-mail to aurthorize after market parts to resolve this safety issue. I believe that was app in oct/2014 . I have contacted t j @ Ford again. To get the same results! I drive early in the am. And return in pm! this is in the dark! this is impacting my safety as well as others. This has been going on for 5 months. When the lcm gets hot my headlites shut off. When this happens I must shut vehicle off for 3/4 to 1 hour. I have also had to drive while holding the bright lites on manually, while finding a safe place to pull off! I would appreciate any help you could assist me with . Thank you.
While driving home from a wedding reception at 10:00 pm lights suddenly went out . Pulled over to side of road and tried all modes of lights operation (automatic, parking and regular lighting mode). Trying dims and high beams both. Finally got lights to work if I held dimmer switch in pulled position untill reaching home. Looking on internt found out that this is an ongoing problem with crown vics. Failure in lighting control moduel. Still need some sort of repair.
Several times I have been driving at night and my head lights will shut off. The occurrences have been at different speeds anywhere from 30 m/hr to 70 m/hr. They have always come back on but I have had to wait anywhere from one minute to an hour before they would come back on. Normally I try to switch the lights on and off several times for them to come back on. Sometimes I would have to pull the car over put in park turn car over mess with light switch for them to come on.
Lights keep going out tried two time at dealers and getting no were.
Lights failed when driving down dark freeway, nearly drove off road, stopped car, heard click and lights came back on, but a few minutes later, went off again. As I drive down the road I hear a click and then they come back on, but more minutes they go off again, continual intermittent on/off. This occurs when the lights are in headlamp setting, or autolamp control, lights don't work when in this condition in high beams. Fortunately they are working when held toward steering wheel in flash-to-pass, so have been holding the lights on this way for months. From what I've read, this is an ongoing continual problem with this vehicle. I'm surprised there have been no reports of accidents or death, but it's a hard issue to identify as it's inconsistent, and if someone was reported as 'loosing control of their vehicle', it could be loss of lights causing them to run off the road. Read how to do a quick resolution by kicking the lcm under the dash, which sometimes does cause the lights to come back on. Also, have seen a youtube video from a mechanic that shows how to solder on new relays to the computer panel, which fixes the issue for $15. 00, which I've considered doing myself as a replacement unit is upwards of $400. 00. This needs to be a recall issue!!!.

2005 Ford crown vic head lights take a break my crown vic has only 31000 miles on it. Now that its getting dark earlier and I work 10am to 8pm my first near death experience happened. All most had a head on,,!!!!!!!!!!! that caught me off guard. . If there ever was a recall, this is the time!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Headlamps occasional failed to turn on or would go off periodically at first. A month later the problem had become the norm rather than the exception. When the headlamps went out I had to drive with my hand engaging the high beam in order to have driving lights. Flicking the hi/lo beam wand would not turn the lights back on. Interior dash lights worked normally. It got to the point in a 5 mile trip, at night, my driving lights were off more than they were on without me having to engage the high beam lamps for driving. Extremely congested areas that I drive in so the engaging the high beams all the time caused a safety hazard not only for on coming drivers but for me as well. It is extremely hard to drive a full size car like mine while keeping the high beams engaged. The integrated control module (icm) had to be replaced to fix the problem. This is hard to believe given the fact that my car had less than 42,000 miles on it at the time. The car had not been involved in any damage causing wrecks. From all the forums that there are online, does not appear to be an isolated occurrence.
