Engine Shut Off Without Warning Problems of Ford Crown Victoria

Car was purchased 9/10/01. First problem occurred in April 2002. Car has an intermittent miss. Dealership could not find problem. In August 2002 car began shutting down while driving. This problem has continued and has happened at all different speeds. Car has been into dealership service center a total of 7 times and each time they could not replicate the problem. This is a safety problem since when the car shuts down the power steering and brakes are just about useless.

While driving at 55 mph the consumer went over a rumble strip on the interstate highway and without any prior warning the engine shut down. The fuel pump shut-off switch was activated by rumble strip on road.

Car has been in the shop 2 times for gas vapors inside the car, the second time they replace a gas line o-ring but that did not help. I will be sending it back for the same problem this is the third time. The car engine shuts down at any speed and has done it four times, and this will be the second time for this problem, last time my car was in the shop for 5 days and they were unable to find any thing wrong with it. No gas vapors or the engine shutting down.
