Traveling on PA turnpike, vehicle stopped moving. Called for tow to nearest Ford garage (haggerstown, MD Ford) for repair. When vehicle was placed on lift rear tire fell off. The axel had broke at the tire. Vehicle had 100,048 miles. Vehicle has no rust or body issues. Vehicle is in very good shape. I feel this is a manufacture defect. I feel this could have caused a serious accident with injuries sustained.

Consumer states vehicle has no shield between the fuel tank and the rear axle. Dealer notified. Please provide additional information.
Ford has stopped installing splash shield (p/n fsvy*8327*a) under motor of Crown Victoria. This causes the fan belt to come off when it is raining. Car loses all accessories including power steering/ alternator, and water pump. Car can not be driven over 4 blocks due to overheating. This will place elderly people on side of road in rain (or they will crash because they will not be able to turn the car without power steering).
