Air Bag Problems of Ford E-150

The contact stated that she also observed smoke emanating from behind the air bag and when the vehicle stopped, she disconnected and reconnected the battery. The vehicle was restarted, and she continued to drive. Medical attention was not needed. A police report was not taken. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 116,600.

The contact owns a 1997 Ford E-150. The contact stated that after parking the vehicle in a parking lot, the contact leaned over to the passenger’s side to pick up the cell phone. The contact stated that after sitting back straight in the seat, the air bag deployed unintendedly and without impact. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact’s eyes and jaw were injured and required medical attention. The contact’s vision became blurry but had since started to improve. The vehicle was not taken to a local dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

My husband had just started up his e150 econoline van pulling out of the driveway and the airbag just deployed. There was no reason he was not in any accident he did not run over anything he didn't hit anything. And no one can tell me why this happened. If he had been on the interstate that he drives every day he could have died or killed someone.

I was parked at a gas station. I was about to reverse and my airbag exploded for no reason. I filled a police report with witnesses. I contacted my local Ford dealership about the incident and was informed I would have to pay for the damages. They stated they have sent letters to an undisclosed address. I stated I never received a letter and I have lived at multiple locations. I also stated that I have had my truck at the same dealership three times(one time for a wreck) since the recall and have never been informed of a recall. At some point shouldn't Ford have informed me when I was in their presence? Ford is now giving me the run around. What can I do at this point to fight this decision from Ford? it is a recall and should be fixed. My truck is my life. Help I never received a letter from my knowledge and have live in numerous places. I stated my truck has been in the shop three times (one time for a wreck) and no words were spoken of a recall.

This is the first time a hear about an air bag that blows by it self,, on top of it, in the parking lot when there was nobody inside. I asked Ford to see if by any chance there's some recalls about that situation and they said no . . . Good thing that it didn't happen when the driver was driving. . . Can just imagine the scene. . . Thank you. .

The vehicle is an electrical nightmare . The main wiring harness chaffed and shorted out within a few days of service . The lift system has an intermittant problem , frequently will blow resetable breaker . When it rains the system gets wet because the door doesnt close properly,when the floor was dropped for the modifications it was not done properly. Because of this the door leaks ,causes the electrical components to get wet . The van for sale , the adaptive equipment will be removed first though , I assure you ! I have been locked out and stuck inside due to the side door opening failures (multiple ). Please feel free to call me , our legal expert would be glad to give you the official report of problems .
