6 Power Train problem of the 2013 Ford E-150

Failure Date: 02/13/2019

Recall 19s07 the 1st time was driving 72mph down the interstate and the truck downshifted causing us to be jolted and an 18 wheeler to almost rear end us. Received the recall letter from Ford (literally 2 weeks after it 1st happened) for a sensor to be reset bc of truck suddenly downshifting while in motion. After dealership finished truck still was downshifting while in motion on highway or street at any speed. Took truck back and they reset again. Truck still continues to downshift while in motion. Was almost rear ended again in highway. It is hard to steer and control when it happens on the highway. Have to pull over and restart engine to be able to go again. Ford is saying we have to pay for a diagnosis, but the only problem with the truck is what it is being recalled for. Their remedy of reprograming the sensor is not working and driving the truck is dangerous. We need help please! they won't fix their faulty problem.

7 Power Train problem of the 2013 Ford E-150

Failure Date: 09/05/2018

I purchased my 2013 Ford f-150 v6 3. 5l from jons friendly used cars back in April of 2017. The truck has been doing fine until recently (last 2 days). As I was on my way to work, the truck was delaying w/shifting, the speedometer dropped to zero and which put the truck into failsafe. After looking into this and identifying the code (p0270), it confirmed the symptoms I was experiencing. I guess I'm wondering is this going to be something that need to replace (out of pocket) or is Ford or the dealership needing to get this replaced if it's been identified/posted on the TSB. How can I see if my car is covered or not?.

8 Power Train problem of the 2013 Ford E-150

I was driving 65 on the highway and my truck downshift to 3rd gear then back to 5th gear then first gear. Locking my wheels. Tires screeching. I had to pull over and turn my truck off, open the door to try to reset the vehicle. Ive read threads of people having a similar problem and turning off the truck, opening the door resets the vehicle. . Po722-00 code output shaft speed sensor circuit no single - pending dtc.

Failure Date: 08/30/2017

In the last two I been having a wrench coming up on the screen and truck loses power and the speed drops down to 5 miles an hour. While the truck is running in idle, it is vibrating. When I stop it and restart it goes away. It happen three times in the last two weeks. After the second time the dealer reprogramed the computer last Friday. Thursday five days later it came back when I was doing 50 miles an hour. I called the dealer and he said he will change the throttle sensor out tomorrow . The times it happen I was on country road with no traffic, if I would have on the interstate no telling what would have happen with cars behind me doing 70 miles an hour.

12 Power Train problem of the 2011 Ford E-150

Failure Date: 02/20/2017

At any speed it will shift into 1st gear without warning. Speedometer will fluctuate between 0-65mph. Rear wheels lock up, and you will loose control of vehicle. A couple hours ago, on the freeway it shirted to 1st gear, locked up the rear end, and the car behind me crashed into center divider trying to avoid me. This lock up has happened 4 times on freeway and many times on standard roadway. I took it to Ford and they said it needed a re-flash of the computer, and that would fix the problem. That was on Saturday 2/18, and it just did it again Monday 2/20. I ended up facing the wrong way on the rainy freeway. It is now at the Ford dealer again. They say it could be covered under the recall but are not sure. This is very dangerous!!! someone will loose their life!!.

20 Power Train problem of the 2012 Ford E-150

Failure Date: 06/08/2014

Each time we take off and come to complete stop we feel, what is best characterized as, a slight bump. Vehicle jumps slightly at take off and after coming to a complete stop. It was barely noticeable at 34,000 miles but has increased substantially with 41,604 miles on vehicle. We called dealer whom sold us the vehicle (lade Ford in frankston texas). I began to describe the problem and immediately "jamie" diagnosed the problem in detail and stated is a problem with Ford f150s. He added that splines were at fault and were part of the power train but were not covered under power train warrantee.

21 Power Train problem of the 2008 Ford E-150

Failure Date: 05/14/2014

Started shaking and sputtering in reverse at low rpm. Two transmission shops said it was the reverse band in transmission and needed rebuild. Had trans rebuilt (at cost of 2390. 00). After rebuild, mechanic was driving and it still had problem. After researching, he thinks it is the cam phasers causing problem. He had replaced my plugs before transmission work to rule that out (all 8 of the plugs broke while taking them out, he had never seen all break on a f150 before). This engine/transmission is a bad design all around and Ford needs to step up, admit it and fix and or reimburse customers for repairs. You can spend thousands chasing problems in this power train! even though the transmission rebuild did not fix the initial problem, the rear band was worn, and the plate in the transmission had a small dent and hair line cracks, so it was going to fail eventually! the transmission shop said this is common in these. I want something done!.

24 Power Train problem of the 2011 Ford E-150

Failure Date: 10/19/2011

This truck started shuttering and the engine light comes on and puts the truck into reduced power and truck will not go. Truck has done this now since around 25k. It was bought with a extended warranty, took truck back to dealer they put a new coil pack on fixed it for only a few thousand miles, really not I have had to teach myself how to drive this truck because if you give it full throttle this happens . They will not fix this nor is it covered under warranty.

25 Power Train problem of the 2001 Ford E-150

Failure Date: 12/17/2009

I currently own a meticulously maintained 2001 Ford e150 van with a 4. 6 liter motor. I have approx 78000 miles on vehicle, and recently started having spark plug issues. To make a long story short changing the spark plugs with aluminum heads can possibly ruin my van due to the plugs blowing out of the heads. At this time I'm not in a position to by a new vehicle due to something as simple and basic as a spark plug. Due to the location of motor in van the repair is costly and time consuming. The more research I do with this issue I feel this is a huge design flaw.

26 Power Train problem of the 1997 Ford E-150

Failure Date: 06/05/2001

My Ford 150 was purchased with the 504 liter engine and although it is a 1997 model has only 19000 miles on it. The problem is an engine oil leak that has been roughly diagnosed as the mail seals both front and rear. I have spent $300. 00 to replace the front seal and the rear seal has been quoted to me as another $600. 00. I feel Ford should step up to the plate and fix this problem for me as I doubt mine is the only occurance of this type.
