Failure of ball joint in steering linkage attaching passenger side front wheel to steering linkage. The result was loss of control of the passenger side front wheel. This occured on a straight stretch of highway. The part was original equipment and had not been damaged. The ball came out of the socket, a potentialy fatal flaw.

Tie rod came off while driving and crashed to a stop.
While driving at 40 mph tie rods broke and came loose. Vehicle was towed.
While entering the highway the right tie rod broke causing the van to shake and loose steering ability, the vehicle careened diagonally across the highway crossing all four lanes until it stopped in the median. Nlm.
