The contact stated the transmission burned up while driving on a hill at 25-30 mph. The dealership stated this happened frequently t because the transmission was not big enough for the vehicle. The transmission was completely replaced at a cost of $4,000. The old transmission carried 13. 9 quarts of transmission fluid, the dealership told the contact he needed the over size pan that carried 24 quarts. The new transmission was put in with a larger pan to keep the new transmission cool.

Ford sold 2001 trucks with a known defective transmission part and failed to disclose that fact to purchasers. 2001 Ford trucks built between 7-27-00 and 3-23-01 with the 4r100 automatic may exhibit a delayed or no second gear. This is caused by a failed intermediate one-way clutch. The one-way clutch, intermediate brake drum and intermediate clutch plates will need to be replaced along with any associated parts. The cost of the repair is $3,000 and Ford refuses to pay for any part of the cost if the vehicle is out of warranty.
While driving could feel an strong vibration coming from transmission. Took vehicle to dealer, and at time of inspection found out that transmission bolts were loose and had to be readjusted. Please provide more information.
