Carvana is attempting to sell this vehicle in lehi, utah. After speaking with the Ford dealership that worked on it for an “internal transmission repair” they told me the the vehicle’s engine is bad (full long block replacement is recommended and the dealership told me it’s dangerous) and needs a new engine. The previous owner was told this and then turned around and sold it to carvana. I told carvana this and they did nothing about it and it is still for sale. Please protect anyone looking to purchase this vehicle as it is not safe.

I/2 hours of driving, some times less like one time only. Also when this happen the power on the windows dies and so the radio.

This vehicle has a 12,500 gvwr. We recently had this at a Ford dealer for a broken left rear suspension. The dealer weighed the entire vehicle and determined the tare weight to be 11,200 lbs. This is a class-c motorhome and it was completely empty of any and all cargo, no liquids, which is capable of carrying 40 gallons of water at 8. 3 gallons per pound. There was less than 1/4 of a tank of fuel, of a 55 gallon tank and the manufacturer states that this is a 4 passenger vehicle. With the math we have done, of 40 gallons of water at 333. 60 lbs and 55 gallons of gas equates to 346. 50 lbs. My 4 members of my family combined weigh in at 800 lbs and with all the totals added together I come up with 12, 680 gvwr. This vehicle has a rated by the manufacturer tow capacity of 8,000 lbs. The vehicle has many large storage bins incorporated into the unit. Based on the weights displayed, I've already exceeded the gvwr. With that said, I can not legally drive this vehicle with the 4 members of my family. My storage compartments are completely empty and I have no camping supplies onboard, that including pots, pans, cups, toitletries, chairs, etc. The reason for this notice is because the left rear suspension has failed in only 7,000 miles traveled. I'm fearful that if I drive this and have any situation on the road, that my insurance company will invalidate my policy.

This year both the airbags in my 1997 Ford e350 van have spontaneously deployed on two separate occasions--each occurring while the van was in 'park'. On 1/31/18 the driver's bag deployed when the van was warming up in a parking lot. My adult daughter started the van, plugged her phone into the top car adapter, and about a minute later (the van was still parked) there was a big 'boom' from under her seat and her seatbelt tightened. With the seatbelt still on, she leaned to her right to see what was causing the smoke from under her seat when suddenly the driver's steering wheel airbag deployed. Thankfully she was spared any injury. She had the van towed to a Ford dealership, but they could not diagnose the root of the problem so I did not have them do any work on it [they wanted to replace the airbag and a few other things which I felt was a 'band-aid' solution since they admitted they were guessing]. We drove the car home. On 4/13/18 my adult daughter was sitting in the first bench row in the van to have a quiet place to talk on the phone. After a while on the phone, she plugged her phone into the same charger and less than a minute later the passenger airbag exploded. This occurred in my driveway when there was no key in the ignition and no one was sitting in either front seat! again, my daughter escaped injury, but now the van will not even start. At this point, my local Ford dealership (a different one) and my personal repair shop are refusing to touch the van because of potential liability regarding this kind of malfunction. My insurance can't help because the van was not in an accident when the airbags deployed and "electrical and mechanical malfunctions are excluded from comprehensive coverage. " Ford customer care service has told me repeatedly that they don't have a protocol for this and there is nothing they can do to help me.

The contact owns a 2005 Ford E-350. While driving various speeds, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel injection control module failed. The contact replaced the control module, but the failure continued. Upon inspection, the contact determined that the fuel injection control module wire harness failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 05v270000 (electrical system). The failure mileage was 90,000.

While stopped at a thruway rest area in w. Virginia. It had been raining quite a bit on this - our first day of vacation. Our new 2014 Ford E-350 would not shift out of park! all of the dash lights started flashing, then stopped, then flashed again. This happened a few times. The truck would start would not shift out of park. After discussions with Ford roadside assist, the truck was towed to a Ford dealer. The main engine electrical component's compartment was not sealed correctly, letting water into the compartment and shorting out the electrical system in the truck. The whole electrical component had to be replaced. Thankfully, we were stopped in a rest area when discovered and not on the road! this is a safety issue, since the truck could have stalled out at any time while driving. The Ford dealer had the truck for 2 weeks, while working to find and fix this issue.
Started the van to pull ahead about 5ft forward in my driveway. As I dropped it into drive the van took off like a bat out of hell. Smashing into my classic corvette pushing it threw the back wall of the garage and almost taking out two of my 2- year old grand children who where playing in the garage at the time. I pulled the van to the right of the garage crashing and burying the van about 8ft deep into the garage wall. Only by the grace of god did the corvette not hit the two grand kids as it sailed through the garage 26 ft and out the back wall. Thousands of dollars of damage to both vehicles and my garage, but thank god my grand kids were not hurt. Ford is putting profit before people by not fixing this problem immediately.

First instance of electrical problems was failure of new led tv. Rv was in giant RV shop in colton from Jan 14 to Feb 12. On drive home, noticed that radio & rear view monitor would not work. On shore power, radio would function but not rear view monitor w/or w/out chassis on. Coach batteries ended up drained. Radio & rear view started to work, but you were unable to see anything at night with rear view monitor. Thor concierge arranged a repair at j&l RV in fontana for a week ending Mar 18. Customer was told electrical system functioning normally. Customer subsequently discovered the only way to get rear view monitor to work was not only have the source on and the icon for rear view pushed, but to also have the radio on. Several calls to thor motor coach revealed that they consider this normal operation. Customer has found source lights will neither dim nor turn off as system apparently linked to coach batteries instead of through accessory switch on chassis. Radio manual clearly states this is not an acceptable linkage. At this point, neither the radio, source, or rear view operate and thor concierge can't be bothered to return calls.

2003 Ford cutaway van while driving vehicle driver noticed smelled a burning smell and saw smoke coming from under the center of dash. Pulled vehicle over and got out of vehicle. Smoke continued and flames began to consume vehicle until entire vehicle was on fire. We have experienced many hvac switch failures(melting of switch and or harness connector) and notice very hot wires to the switch at times. Fleet contains 85 Ford e350 vehicles and this switch has been a common failure.

1999 Ford e350 caught fire and burned to a total loss while sitting cold in my driveway. I bought the vehicle used on Nov 8, 2010. Dec 12, 2010 I drove about 3 miles to the grocery around 20:30; I returned home and parked the vehicle in my driveway about 20:45. About 22:15 a passing car observed flames coming from the front of the vehicle and flaring to contact my house. The witness alerted me at my door. I immediately grabbed the garden hose and attempted to spray water into the front grill, left side to put out the fire. I could not see where the actual fire was as the hood was closed, I sprayed where the flames exited the grill. The wind was blowing about 20 mph and I could not extinguish the flames. The vehicle was facing north, the wind blowing from west to east. The flames began to shoot out from the passenger wheel well in a horizontal streak as the wind stoked the fire. Neighbors called 911 while I diverted the water spray from the vehicle to the house and garage since the van was parked within 2 feet of the garage door and the wind now had flames shooting 8-12' high and brushing the wood garage door. The firemen arrived, knocked the vehicle hood off with a tool and sprayed the engine compartment to extinguish the fire. Due to the wind, the van was completely fire gutted and a total loss. The fire inspector advised me of the Ford cruise control recall and said he could find no other possible cause for the fire in the engine compartment as there were no leaks of any kind and no recent repairs in the engine compartment. Local Ford dealers have declined to tell me if my VIN had warranty work to repair the switch.

I have had 3 spark plug this year come shooting out of ey 2002 Ford e350 v10.
Apparently the advanced track system (stabilizes the van to prevent rollover) automatically performs tests. The problem is that it does it randomly and while I'm driving. When it is in test mode, I temporarily loose control of my brakes and steering!!!!! it seems more frequent in that it has done it twice in the past month, today being one of the times. I actually rear ended someone today because my brakes did not work!!!!!! I think the system is a good idea but the self testing causing loss of control is dangerous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now I have a ticket, a record, 2 vehicles to repair and probably an increase in insurance! great van but this part sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Vehicle has a misfire problem and stalling problem when driving and or at idle. This problem has been addressed by the manufacture on several occasions but has not been resolved. This defect occurs whenever it wants to and it has shut off on three occasions and almost caused an accident with one of the occurrences. The misfire was so abrupt that it almost caused an accident with my wife and I in the vehicle.
Plugs changed in vehicle at 137,000 for first time. Six months later plug #3 ejected. One month after that another plug ejected. Both times could smell gas in the passenger compartment and fumes.

The contact owns a 2000 Ford E-350. The contact received a recall notice in August of 2007 for the electrical system. The vehicle was taken to a local authorized dealer for repair in November of 2007, but the mechanic stated that there was no recall replacement part available. The contact was consistently calling the dealer to see if the part had arrived, but was informed again that the part had not been manufactured and to call back later. The contact has become very discouraged and does not know if the recall part will ever be manufactured by Ford. He was under the assumption that all the vehicles included in the recall needed the part to warrant the repair service. There had been no failure to date. Updated 6/16/08.

The contact owns a 2002 Ford e350. While driving 55 mph, the contact heard a loud pop and the check engine light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who replaced the spark plugs. The failure occurred three times. The first time, it was plug # 7 ( coil was tightened), followed by plug # 1 (rethreaded), and lastly plug # 3 (not repaired). Plug #'s 1 and 3 detached and plug # 7 was loose. The current mileage is 79,700 and failure mileage was 65,359.
This is my second note to you about this, I have not heard from you concerning my first. Ford has been scamming people for over 10 years by using an oil pressure switch instead of a pressure transducer in all their vehicles (including my new 2006 e350). It does not indicate the amount of oil pressure (like all gauges do) only if there is pressure or not, basically the same as an idiot light. They tell us we are buying a vehicle with a gauge and it is not really one. I have 9 experts and mechanics that will testify on my behalf and dozens of letters from other individuals. I want Ford to repair or refit my vehicle with a true oil pressure gauge like the manual says, and also refit all others who they have scammed over the years telling them they have a gauge which indicates amount of pressure when they only gave us one that tells us if we have some or none. Thanks and I would like to hear back from you on this, it seems like a class action suit is appropriate.
The vehicle is new and it completely shut off in the middle of the road. Contacted Ford , and the vehicle is at the dealership now. They have not communicated what iwaswrong with the vehicle. This happened on August 15, 2005. There was no noise or lights that came ion n the vehicle before it shut off.
The spark plugs blew out.
1998 Ford e350 van 5. 4l v8 blew a spark plug when starting engine. Spark plugs was changed by Ford dealer at 90,000 miles plug blew with 122,000 miles. Ford dealer removed head, installed spark plug insert and charged me $1700. 00 . I believe spark plugs should never blow out of cylinder head when installed by a Ford trained mechanic. The spark plug Ford uses has only 6 threads on it. That is not enough threads for a aluminum head. This is a engine design error. Ts.
