Ford E-450 owners have reported 2 problems related to air bag not deploy (under the air bag category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I am writing this letter to express concern about the bus accident in which my fellow driver, arriana (bus #502, license plate number 1369528, VIN number 1fdfe4fs9adb02608) was involved in on January 15, 2019 at approximately 1:07 pm on highway 99 northbound near/around the 12th avenue ramp. According to the accident video that was shown to me during a drivers safety meeting held by gary vickers transportation operation manager of paratransit inc sacramento CA at 9:30 am January 23 2019, bus #502 was traveling at approximately 45 mph or higher, and at impact the driver's airbag did not deploy. This bus is endangering our lives and serious injure with improper functioning vehicles. After today I do not feel safe to drive any of the paratransit buse. I also recommend that all paratransit inc buses are re-inspected an to ensure that all buses are working appropriately and that airbags are working properly. Lastly, I also recommend that us highway safety administration conduct a thorough investigation with the manufacture who built these buses to determine if the buses' airbags are on recall since the above vehicle did not deploy. Again, as bus driver I am concerned for all bus drivers, passengers, and the public's safety. I hope that my recommendations are taken seriously and considered for further investigation.
