The brand new jayco grewhawk is making a whining sound from the chassis. I have not even driven it more than 50 miles. This vehicle needs to be recalled for whatever chassis issues or it could be transmission issues. I will take it back to Ford but this is really bad on Ford to sell brand new rvs with such whining sound coming from the chassis. Please alert the new owners about the issues . Thank you, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

I am a mechanic at huron valley ambulance. Ford has a recall that covers some of our ambulances. Recall 22s08 for the power steering lines coming apart. I have been having issues with the hoses coming apart even after the recall has been performed. The Ford dealer will not cover this repair after the recall has been done. This is a safety issue as both the steering and braking are effected. It is also time consuming and expensive to repair. I feel this recall is not correcting this problem and needs to be addressed.

Regarding the recall #22s08 hydroboost or hydromax power steering pressure line. We took our motorhome in to have the recall addressed and for service before a planned camping trip. Apparantly the recall was worded "to inspect or replace" and our vehicle was only inspected. On our ruined mother's day vacation, we were driving highway speeds at a downgrade coming into nevada and lost all power steering which took our motorhome and trailer we were pulling off of the highway and dangerously close to falling off the highway and tumbling down a hill. We went to exit at the next offramp to look at the power steering issue and found that we also had no brakes. By downshifting, we were able to stop safely. There were no warning lights or signals, and no warning signs what so ever. The motorhome is currently being looked at and hopefully repaired at a rush truck center in las vegas. Ford motor company and the original dealership have been notified. Our main concern is the word "or" in the recall verbiage, which we blame Ford motor CO. The problem is clearly this part must be replaced, not just inspected. A change in the verbiage literally will save lives. We really should have been dead on the side of the road, but we were lucky and are contemplating hiring a lawyer, as we feel that the unacceptable recall wording by Ford unneccessarily put our lives at risk. Our Ford claim number cas-36721973-s8h5x3.

I received a recall notice on this vehicle from Ford. Ford recall 22s08 and NHTSA recall 22v089. Ford does not seem to be aware of this recall nor do you. The earliest big valley Ford in stockton CA appointment I could get was 7/19/22. This is not acceptable based on safety.

We received the two recall notice letters from Ford motor company, 20v795 & 22v089, for our 2021 jayco redhawk class c RV. Upon receiving the first recall notice, 20v795, an appointment was made with our local Ford dealer, spradley Ford Lincoln Mercury, in pueblo, CO, on oct 1, 2021 to have it inspected and recall taken care of. Upon arrival that morning, was told they did not have the parts, would have to order them & their technician just called in "sick". Appointment was rescheduled once they had the recall parts in for Nov 15, 2021, again at our local Ford dealer, spradley Ford Lincoln Mercury, in pueblo, CO. Upon arrival that morning to drop the unit off for the recall repair, was turned away again & told I'd have to reschedule as they had a break-in overnight & their technicians' had some tools stolen & would not be working today & they would have the service manager call me to reschedule the appointment once again, which never happened. In March of 2022, we received the second recall notice, 22v089, advising to take it to the local Ford dealer for inspection & repair. I called the Ford dealer, now alpine Ford, in pueblo, CO, several times having to leave a message without a return call. On April 6, 2022, I spoke with jeff in service at alpine Ford & was informed alpine Ford would not do the recalls as the new owners refused to do them after purchasing the dealership & referred me to camping world. I had an appointment at camping world in colorado springs this same day & they contacted Ford dealers in pueblo, colorado springs, canon city, & all refused to handle the recalls. I called Ford corporate & expressed my displeasure with dealers failing to comply with recall notices causing safety concerns for use of the unit & was told the were not "refusing" to do the recalls just did not have any technicians or locations except maybe o'mera Ford in northglenn, CO, who might handle it, which is unacceptable as they are 2 hours & 100 miles away.

Service advancetrac warning came on the main gauge display screen while I was driving 62 mph with cruise control set. Vehicle is a 2021 jayco greyhawk 31f class c motorhome on Ford e450 chassis with 7. 3l gas v-8 and 6-speed automatic transmission. Cruise control stopped working and would not come back on. Hill start assist disabled message came on after I hit "ok" for the service advancetrac warning. Vehicle became very difficult to control with moderate crosswind. It would sway side to side and moved all over in the lane as I steered and countersteered. Vehicle power also seemed to decrease as it would only go about 52 mph in 5th gear and would downshift to 4th in order to go from 45 up to about 55. It was terrifying to go that fast when a gust of wind hit. We pulled into a truck stop, turned off motor and let it sit a couple minutes. It restarted easily but even stationary in park and in drive (stopped) the service advancetrac warning came back on and the cruise control would not power on. Shut motor off and disconnected negative battery cable for about 20 minutes, hooked battery up and vehicle started with no warning lights. Drove another 20ish miles with no issues, then turned on cruise control and set it at 55. After 2 minutes the c/c shut off again, service activetrac warning came on, vehicle hard to control with crosswind and decreased engine power. Pulled to shoulder, tried to restart and same issue as at truck stop. Disconnected battery again 20 minutes, hooked back up and drove with no issues for 6 hrs (and 1 fuel stop) with c/c remaining off. Next day issue repeated itself: c/c turned off after about 2 minutes, service advancetrac light etc. Disconnect battery 20 min, restart and drove without turning on c/c for 7 hrs (w/ 2 stops) no issues. Full power and advancetrac electronic stability control work fine when service advancetrac warning is not on.
I purchased this thor motor home from a dealer on 09/06/2019, used our first trip 260 miles both ways I have found a very difficult time on keeping unit on road properly constantly drifting and very fatigued in driving. At camp sight an identical 31w thor 2018 owner stated he had same problem an neighbors stated that stabilizer needs to be replaced with a safetplus 31-140 unit and now no problem. Help!!! I would consider this to be a safety item that needs correction. Highway 65mph.

Steering is heavy, (heavy/stiff/steering wheel hard to turn), does not rotate and/or return easily and smoothly. The operator/driver is required to manually assist the return of the steering wheel back to center, does not have return ability to center home position on its own. Safety is #1; heavy/stiff/steering wheel hard to turn raises significant concern with this sunseeker class c motorhome/RV being unsafe, potentially dangerous and/or a hazardous situation when the operator/driver consistently needs to maintain a white knuckle control of the steering wheel. Without assistance or intervention from operator/driver this class c motorhome/RV would continue to turn left or right, and will not return and continue in a straight forward motion. This sunseeker class c motorhome/RV tracks side to side from uneven or grooved payment surfaces causing a wobbling effect. Another effect when a larger vehicle in size passes on the freeway can be disturbing as noted. This class c motorhome/RV is pushed to the right over the white fog line into the break down lane. Operator/driver must use a counter steering measure by turning the steering wheel left into the passing vehicle, then back straight when the vehicle passes. This action requires operator/driver to use constant monitoring visually and physically of the steering wheel in order to maintain a straight/forward line.

This is motor home, had a steering problem. Turned left and about 5 minutes later the steering pulled to the left, had to turn hard right in order to get it to go straight. It did this for about 3 miles. Suddenly something in the steering let it jerk violently to the left, almost consume r lost control of the vehicle but it went back to normal for the next 400 miles. This happened on July 26, 2005. The Ford dealerwas going to look at this on Monday.
