The contact owns a 2001 Ford Econoline. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph, there was a loud bang heard from the front end of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The mechanic stated that the number one spark plug and the coil would have to be replaced. The failure recurred six times after the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that an after market part could be inserted on the spark plugs to prevent the failure from recurring. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 86,000.
I was driving from new york to philadelphia when I almost got home the car caught on fire on the back of the car where the wheel are, on my passenger side.
The contact owned a 1996 Ford Econoline. The contact stated that the vehicle caught fire on January 14, 2008 while parked in the driveway. Smoke appeared from the engine and front passenger seat. The fire department extinguished the fire and filed a report. The vehicle was destroyed. The contact received Ford recall notice number 05s28 the first week in may of 2008. The current and failure mileages were 122,000.

Have a Ford 1999 Econoline van with a triton engine, have so far blown x3 sparkplugs, all fixed.
1999 Ford Econoline 250 spark plug blew out. Consumer states that this is not a normal wear item. He has had all work done by Ford. Ford will not cover the repair cost. He states that if something is wrong it is Ford's fault.
Engine check light is illuminating, indicating a malfunction within cylinder head and temperature sensor. Mechanic at Ford dealer stated that manufacturer has not produced sensor for Econoline truck, resulting in false warning to check engine on vehicle.
