Failure Date: 01/09/2004

The exhaust system was blowing out black smoke out the tail pipe while driving. The vehicle stalled. Consumer had the vehicle towed to the dealer for analysis. The mechanic determined that the engine needed to be replaced due to a valve cover gasket failure.

Intake valve gasket failed, causing coolant to enter cylinder and bend push rod. Motor has only 45,000 miles on it. Van had been driven under 500 miles in last six months.
