The contact stated that while driving 65 mph, a loud banging noise and the sound of metal being dragged on the ground was heard from outside of the vehicle. The contact owns a 2002 Ford Econoline. The vehicle has b. F. Goodrich commercial ta all terrain tires. The contact stated that all four tires experienced tread separation. The tires were purchased in June of 2007 and have been on the vehicle for a little less than two years. The manufacturer referred the contact to an authorized warranty repair dealer. The manufacturer was willing to pro-rate the cost of the tires. The tire size was unknown. The tire failure mileage was approximately 12,000. The vehicle failure mileage was 64,190.

The consumer was driving at highway speed, and attempted to make a turn and it felt as though the right rear tire was flat. The mechanic put the car on the lift, and discovered the rim was broken and the tire fell off.

Tire #2 (size: lt225/75r16, dot: vd1l1xd247) had blowout with total tread separatied on at 70 mph with no warning with 27,572 miles. . Tire #3 (size: lt225/75r16, dot: vd1l1dx267) had blowout with total tread separtion wih no warning at 65mph with 32,981 miles. . . . Tires 2 & 3 blowouts caused damage to both rear underside of vehicle. Ie. . Break system, exhaust sytem, holding tank and running boards. . I have had numerous contact with both Ford and firestone . . Neither are will to acknowledge any problems with these tires. Tires available for inspection. While getting my van serviced at my local pep boys the tech noticed my rear tires and said they appeared to be seperating. I took the van to the firestone dealer here and ask for a inspection. I was told that they were not seperating . He offererd to sell me 4 shocks for 300. 00 and 2 new tires (but the old ones were not bad so he says) for 300. 00 the van only has 19400 mile on it ! where can I go to get these tire inspected? Incident happened on interstate highway. Tread separated completely from tire and was thrown, but tire did not deflate. Vehicle was safely stopped on shoulder. Two more tires showed signs of failure. Four tires were replaced. (tiresize: 225/75/16r)( dot number: tire size: 225/75/16r ).

Vibration between 50 to 70 mph. Had same type problem with 1997 van and tires were switched to michlen and corrected problem. They wont do this I was told.

Tire failure/blow out while driving, consumer braked vehicle however the cruise control did not disengage. When repair of the tire was completed the cruise control worked fine. Mjs.

Goodyear is replacing these tires on 15 passenger vans. Our van has the identical chassis and tires, but goodyear ignores them. Please help. We travel to art shows with as much or more weight then a passenger van. Most of our travel is at interstate speeds. Any suggestions? (tiresize: lt245/75r1).

Vehicle was parked when back tire was low on air. Noticed cracks 1/4" around the rim. Checked other tires & same type of cracks on those tires. Tires were original equipment. Have not had tires exchanged. Firestone steel tex, rt225/75r16 with 4,000 miles on a 1999,Ford Econoline.

I was travelling on hwy. 401 near welcome, ontario at aprox. 100 km/h when I heard a lound bang. I saw large pieces of tire tread flying out the rear of my motorhome. On examination I saw the entire tread was missing from the tire and it was still hissing (air escaping). I later learned that the tire debris had hit my exhaust pipe and dislodged it causing it to rest on the septic holding tank. Heat from the exhaust caused smoke and fumes to enter the r. V. It also caused damage to the holding tank which will have to be replaced. The tires were original and had aprox. 30,000 km. The inflation had just been checked. I have contacted firestone canada and they advise these tires are not subject to recall. I have left a voice mail with transport canada but have not heard back at this time. I feel that perhaps this model tire failed prematurely and the fact the tread was gone should perhaps be investigated further. Thank you. I could not properly fill in my canadian address.
