1 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 04/22/2022

Rear turn signal blubs continue to blow out over and over. Last time I went to replace the bulb had fused to housing. I'm afraid it is going to catch fire. Also tired of buying bulbs every few months to replace burned out ones.

2 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 03/27/2018

My blinker light started blinking really fast and I knew that that indictated that I had a bulb out. I saw that it was the rear left and purchased a new bulb for it. I searched online for how to change the bulb properly and found several videos for how to do it but they all showed that the bulb socket had overheated and was burnt. Sure enough, when I opened up mine to change the bulb, the socket that holds the bulb is burnt and the the bulb was partially melted into the socket. I checked other side and it is the same thing. The socket is burnt and charred and the bulb is stuck in it. This is obviously an overheating issue and I'm concerned for the safety of the vehicle.

3 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 09/16/2016

Dome lights by rear view mirror do not go off. Since this is a problem with many Ford vehicles; I feel it should be a recall. I got a notice months ago about a recall about the takata air bags on my Ford Edge, also. Still awaiting the repair. The recall said to wait for them to call.

4 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2016

Door ajar light doesn't turn off which leaves the interior lights on while driving.

5 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 10/07/2014

Burnt rear tailight sockets.

6 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 03/31/2014

The interior lights will not turn off. The door ajar indicator remains on even though the doors have been firmly closed causing the interior lights to remain on. At first I was able to slam the door shut until it would trigger the lights to turn off. Then, I had to use wd-40 and after 3 days of doing this every time I entered or exited the vehicle, the interior lights would remain on. Most recently, my car battery died because of the interior lights never turning off. I slammed my door shut for over an hour trying to get the lights to turn off and nothing worked. My battery has died 3 times now due to the interior lights not shutting off even though all the doors were firmly shut. Once was at work, I didn't have the time to keep slamming my door for it to turn off. Finally I took it to a Ford dealership who told me it would cost approx. $400 to fix the electrical problem and the Ford Edges are known to have this defect. This is a huge problem and after researching this problem online it appears to happen quite frequently with this vehicle. This should be recalled and not at the owner's expense!.

7 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2013

Taillight sockets and bulbs scorched and burnt together. Signs of high heat.

8 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2013

Dome lights stays on all the time draining my battery.

9 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 10/28/2012

Driver side rear blinker has been replaced every 4-6 months. Socket is completely melted. Bulbs are melted. Black is all around socket. This is unacceptable and I will not pay the dealership an arm and leg just to keep me safe (car fire). One person said they were charged 98 dollars. That's absurd. There should be a recall and this should be replaced with no expense to the customer.

10 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 09/12/2011

Drivers side rear brake/signal light bulb burnt out. Socket bulb goes into was blackened & semi-melted. Next month passenger side same thing. Next month bearings in front passenger wheel went.

11 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 02/02/2011

One of the rear blinkers went bad twice since I had the car and when I went to replace it the socket that the bulb goes into was black and melted. The first time the blinker went out the car was under warranty so the dealer replaced the bulb. I feel that this issue need to be addressed soon because other than being annoying having to replace the bulb it seems like a fire hazard.
