# 1. Brakes - there is a known brake issue with these vehicles. The brakes started making a loud hissing noise and we were almost unable to stop the vehicle and ended up in the middle of an intersection. This could have caused an accident and needs to be recalled. There was no warning, messages, or signs before this happened. These are the parts the repair shop and Ford dealership said needed to be replaced: power brake booster, hydraulic control unit, and master cylinder. #2 - transmission - the car began to shake when trying to climb up a small hill and it also started to shake on the interstate. There were no warnings or messages that appeared.
My alternator keep draining my new batteries from to much electrical pull and turns off all my digital dash and says my brake system is in failure and there is something wrong with the suspension in the front end even though I have had it fixed and the same problem has returned . I had my battery explode. The transmission jerks whenever it shifts and the transmission fluid is full and I maintain it on a regular basis. It is driven in town only. I am scared of it catching on fire now since I just saw that it is still has a recall that has not been repaired and I bought it used and I was told all recalls were taken care of. I have my grandchildren in this vehicle weekly. I want to see about getting this looked at and repaired correctly. I fear for my safety.
Brake pedal is very hard to press, there is a hissing noise sometimes it may sound like a whistle inside the car from the brakes. Took car to mechanic & was advised the brake power booster is bad & that there is a recall on it, however for some reason my car is not included in this recall. . . . . . . . . Why?.
The component of the cart is the lode shaft assembly consisting of axe shaft, boots and gaskets, the risk was to no longer control the brake, since at any moment I lost control and I was very affected. Yes, by a mechanic. Nop the abs was turned on, check engine.

On 11/7-22, I stopped at a major traffic light on my way to work and when the traffic light turned green and I motioned to drive forward, I noticed my car had stalled and proceeded to roll backwards in traffic. I quickly placed my foot on the gas pedal to move forward, however my car continued to roll backwards, almost hitting the vehicle behind me. So I immediately put on my emergency lights and pressed the brakes repeatedly, however my brakes were frozen (hard) and did not stop my car from rolling backwards. After several minutes, my car stopped rolling backwards and I was able to restart it and slowly drive off the major highway to get assistance. When driving off the highway my car was moving extremely slow and rough. Since the incident, my car have not been inspected or repaired by a mechanic. Prior to this incident, my car have stalled out at stops and while driving but never rolled backwards or lost brake control.
When braking, the brake petal is hard to push. I traveled about 10 miles the other day and it happened about 20 times so now I'm trying not to drive until Friday when my shop can check the brakes and if I do have to drive I will stay great distance behind other vehicles. The mechanic said it sounds like brake booster problem. I checked online and found that other Ford Edge vehicles are having this problem, but there is no recall.
While driving on very hot days car would sputter and brakes would suddenly give out causing a burn smell under the hood and would cause my brake light bulb burn to the plastic pulled over got out to check the vehicle call explosed.
When I press the breaks to stop, it is hard to press, like I'm pushing against air and on a complete stop it continues to move in motion. (the breaks don't stop the vehicle when stationary. It started 2 days ago and I'm scared because I had my niece in the car and I almost ran off the road where an incoming car was going to hit me straight on my left. If I break it also jumps the car like if I was hit from behind. It's very rough.
Driving down the road and all of a sudden my brake pedal got real spongy and then sounded like air blowing through lines. Barely got home with minimal brake usage. I was driving on lee road luckily not too far from my home. Also fog lights don't work. Not sure if it's a switch related problem or something else. It also feels like the transmission is acting up like the car doesn't want to go especially in reverse without really getting on the pedal. And it rolls backwards on hills like it's a manual transmission.
When making a stop or already stopped, the brake pedal gets very hard to push. When hitting the gas there is some resistance. I notice the brake pedal gets stuck. In order to unstick it, I have to put my foot under the break to pop it up.
Front passenger side brake caliper keeps going bad. We have replaced it 3 different times. No trouble out of driver side only passenger.
I have replaced the ptu in my 07 Ford Edge a few years back that the dealership themselves told me there should have been a recall on it because of the poor design for $500. Now I am having to replace the power brake booster because I would be driving and hear a hissing noise when braking or my brakes would get really firm. Which I was told that the original owner could have replaced free of charge not as a recall, but something else. That is now going to cost $900. 00. I drive kids that I have had pretty important things fail that Ford never recalled and it really makes me consider investing in another Ford ever again. If safety issues aren't enough to recall. And it took them years to replace the air bags.
The booster went out needs replaced and on other sites it said it is recalled.
I just had new brakes put on my car. A few days after the brakes were very spongy and felt like they would not work. They also made a loud high pitched noise. My mechanic looked my car over and said it was the brake boosters.
While I was out driving to get my inspection done my car would not stop the brakes were very hard to push like I was standing up on it so I've went to go get the brakes replace before the inspection and the brakes were still hard to push that's when the machanic had tried and informed me that it's not the brakes and my car is unable to stop even driving at a very low speed my car was close to over turning due to not being able to stop with new breaks that's when I was informed it's the break booster.
One day all of a sudden when depressed the brakes heard a air like sound from the under dash, when trying to stop the vehicle had a stopping instantly and then release like I couldn't stop the vehicle. Really I panic cause I couldn't stop. . So I had my husband take it to the Ford dealership and they told me it was the brake booster gone bad. . It cost me a lot of money, so I asked was there a recall they sad no. . I have had other peoples that had the same problem with their Ford Edge.
I have my car in the shop getting brake booster replaced at $900, Ford has a customer satisfaction program 13n02 that covers newer cars. Looking on-line this issue is prevalent and I believe this should be looked at as a recall, no brakes. Although nearly complete loss of brakes only happened recently I believe this issue may have been building for years. I always noticed other vehicles had (to me) much touchier brakes. I now believe that the other vehicles weren't touchier, it was my car that had low braking. From what I have been reading it seems that this should have been a recall issue years ago but yet it's another cover up by a car manufacturer.
My brakes act like they are stuck a local mechanic told me it was my brake booster I tried to come to a complete stop and they would not work I almost had an accident because of the issue.

Brake booster leakage, on the highway the brakes actually was so hard to depress when coming up upon a vehicle at the light I had to pump the brakes to get it too stop,,,,,,so finally the brakes grabbed stopping the vehicle in a sudden stop. The brake padel went to the floor making a whispering sound.
I have a 2007 Ford Edge sel. Recently put brand new brakes and rotors all the way around my vehicle. Before I replaced the brakes, I notice the sound of air and the brake pedal was hard. Took it to the shop and they said it was the brake booster.
I bought my car a few years ago from a used car lot. I have had problems ever since. My breaks keep going, my transmission is slipping and the trimming around my windshield is falling out. I'm afraid the windshield is going to fly off. All I keep seeing ate problems with this car.

Brakes power booster, power booster failing and exhibiting the same problems as later model Ford Edges, that have been recalled. . . Customer satisfaction program 13n02.
My 2007 Ford Edge is having the same brake issues as described in the Ford customer satisfaction program 13n02 brake booster issue for Ford Edge 2011-2013. Why isnt this expanded. This is a serious issue. I almost couldnt stop my car twice today! twice! its so scary to be pressing down on it and nothing happening. It has a hissing sound as well. This needs to be recalled! I was driving with my kids at 20 miles an hour, thank goodness it wasnt faster!.
A hissing sound when brakes were press done when spongy. Then got extremely hard to press. Still makes hissing or air sound diaphragm and brake booster I've been told. Ford covers some models for this problem but not mine and this is very dangerous.
Brakes are extremely hard to press, I'm basically having to stand up on them. Then the car still moves forward a little. I cannot let up off the brake at all at a stoplight because the car begins to roll.
I have a 2007 Ford Edge sel plus that is in for a brake booster replacement and Ford will not cover the repair even though their is a extended warranty offered to newer cars 2010 and above. The part number for 2007 and a 2010 is the same so the part is bad on both vehicles. On my vehicle we lost partial braking and it almost caused an accident on a major highway. I called for with no help they refuse to cover the part or labor . The extended warranty Ford issued is 13no2 but they will only honor for 2010 or newer even though the part is the same 2010-2012.
Tear in brake booster diaphragm. Covered in many other Ford Edge models of the same year, but for some reason not mine. However, Ford does not seem able to provide me an explanation as to why not my car specifically. Was driving and when brakes were applied, they felt like a rock. . . Then went to feeling super soft, with a hissing sound every time they were applied. Brakes alternated between feeling rock hard to super soft with hissing and I was almost unable to brake several times. Very scary and dangerous. When car was parked (not moving), but turned on and brake applied, there was a loud squeal sound each time.
I have had to replace the brake booster, front brakes and rear brakes. There has been several recalls on the 2007 brake boosters for this year/model but apparently Ford will not reimburse me $982. 05 because my VIN number wasn't included in the recall. I would like reimbursement for this cost.
Very hesitant to pick up speed at times, but more importantly on 2 occasions out side of a week , I was not able to stop, my break pedal would do anything, it wouldn't go down for me to stop, the 1st time I was driving and tried to stop at a stop sign and couldnt stop the second time was on a busy hwy and I almost hit a car at a stop light, because my breaks didnt work. . And yes I have had my breaks and rotors replaced thinking that was the problem but obviously it wasnt, I talked to a mechanic at the Ford dealer and my personal mechanic and both have told me they have had lots of complaints regarding the same thing. Now I have to ask a friend to ride me back and forth to work , because I am afraid to use my car in fear of killing myself or someone else.
