Is it really safe to drive or not? why am I told to get this "potentially lifesaving repair" and parts are available if they are not? if it is a "potentially lifesaving repair" then should I really be driving my car?.

I have had a recall on the takata airbags for approximately 1 year and Ford is unable to fix due to unavailable replacement parts. We have tried several Ford service centers in NY and PA. I received a letter from dmv which states that the situation could "kill or seriously injure you and your passengers. . . ". I am shocked that Ford isn't doing more to remedy this situation as soon as possible.

Then I called Ford on 6/18/2018 who gave me a case number and sent to a different auto dealership. The rental car is just ready for pickup today.

I am losing money as I use my Ford Edge for uber driving and can not use the rental Ford is paying for to drive uber. I was sold a car from a car dealership in 2016 that had an airbag recall. My truck was purchased in 2016 and the takata airbag recall has been out since around 2014. I do not understand how this could happen with people dying from this defected airbag and severely injured. They are asking for me to return the vehicle but my husband has it in another state. He is CO-owner of the vehicle. He didn't want me to drive it and neither is he. It is not safe to drive with my small children. I am asking for an extension on the rental or some type of reimbursement for my safety and troubles. The front end vibrates when I turn left and right I already repaired the rear shocks cause they leaked everywhere it is now making a ticking sound when its driving it has no power what so ever as if tranny is having trouble shifting im at my witts end I cant afford to fix all the problems and still make my payments and pay to drive mt kids around because the dangerous air bag it only has 155000 miles I maintain it to Ford manual and still its the worse car I have ever owed and has cost me more in the short time I have had it with 148000 miles in April then all the cars ive had and maintained I would like some compensation for this air bag and fix ASAP when does it get fixed when someone gets hurt or dies . Takata recall. My Edge is a 2008. All that I read advised older vehicles are at a higher risk. I believe a 10 year old vehicles qualifies as "older". I am not able to take a second person with me anywhere unless they sit in the back seat. The last info I received has scared me.
