My vehicle 2008 Ford Edge had a safety recall from 2012 and the gas tank that the previous owners never had taken care of it or resolved. I purchased a car in February. I filled the gas tank. I parked it in my condo and I used my secondary car to go to work that day. Well, the management called me and said that my gas tank exploded and that there was fuel all over the condo parking lot. Had the fire department come and secure the car they took care of the gasoline in the parking lot and then I had it towed to miller Ford when we found out that there was a recall on that gas tank. This car has been at this dealership three times it’s going tomorrow. This will be the fourth time for the same issue. I feel that this car is not safe. I feel that because nobody addressed this safety recall since 2012 that everything was corroded. I almost got into three accidents because the car stalled on me on three different occasions.
Had 2008 Ford Edge limited awd looked at while servicing for oil etc. Fuel smell noted at rear of vehicle. When looked at noticed wet fuel tank. Fuel tank is still on vehicle. (Ford wants $4400 to replace it) independent shop jp automotive in north haven CT and bob thomas Ford in hamden CT confirm tank is leaking. Bob thomas Ford says not part of Ford TSB #14s22 (NHTSA #10076517) or Ford TSB #14r02 (NHTSA #10076296) a fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may result in a fire. Causing danger to myself, my passengers, and others on the road. No warning lamps etc. Just a fuel smell at the rear of the vehicle that started.
Safety recall 14s22 my vehicle falls into this recall yet the dealership and Ford is saying it dose not. The vehicle was built at the oakville assembly plant during the time of recall specs. I believe June 2007. The vehicle is in wisconsin witch also falls into the recall specs. The fuel tank has the leak in the areas spoke of in the recall, Ford is not doing anything about it. We recived a case number 6 months ago and never heard back from them. This is a serious issue. The dealership gave us a estimate of almost $4000. Something we can not afford. Please help.
Vehicle has corrosion and is leaking gas. Recalls are shown for vehicle and supposedly fixed. Ford says they will not re open a recall and state recall is not for my car.
Fuel neck rusted out under mount bracket causing fuel to drip on hot muffler. Fire hazard could cause a fire.
I was driving to my mothers house on 11/10/19. Whole is was driving on route 1a my air bag exploded and it caused me to crash and it totaled my car. The news reporters came to the seen it aired for 2 days on channel 5 news. There has been a recall on my air bags since 2017 and Ford didn't have the parts to my car to fix the issue they also didn't have the parts in 2018 as well and Ford just place another recall on my vechile as well in February 2019 for the air bags again. This issue almost cost me my life. The town the accident took place was in walpole, MA on main street.
I was in motion heading to work, as I was approaching a signal light , and tapped the brakes, I started to smell a rubber gas leak smell. This is has been occuring for the last six months ive had the brakes change. Still the smell of burnt tar or gas fumes is loud whenever the brakes, a/c, or heat is on.
Takata recall I smell gas coming from my car ever since got from car lot automaxx and the transmission is acting up as well as the suspension too. It's overheating on me and haven't even had the car 2 months. The recall has been on going o. N this car for years they're is still 2 recalls open on my car. I never should of been sold this car because never has gotten the ok from the formal problems its had in the past. Now I'm scared going to catch on fire while driving.
I always maintained my "pre-owned" vehicle, purchased from dealership with 25,000 miles. Began to experience a plethora of problems after 2,000 miles. I've paid over $8,000 in repairs and only drove it 35,000 in 8 years time, but maintained it properly & regularly: I've had to change the brakes & pads, & battery twice, it's wheel rims constantly leak air in the winter causing flat tires, changed all 4 tires, and on August 2, 20017, while driving on the highway at 60 mph, my steering control suddenly locked up! there was no control over the vehicle's movements- no ability to make lane adjustments or turns! I and my entire family including grandchildren could have been killed!! luckily, the next off-ramp was a straight shot & I was able to exit the hwy safely and bring the vehicle to stop despite no steering control. I had my vehicle towed to a Ford dealership which incorrectly diagnosed the problem, & did not bother to inspect it for three days. It now needs a costly ($1500) rack and pinion to replace it's rusted out pressurized fuel line for power steering fluid. It remains unrepaired to date since there is also a takata airbag recall w/ possible fatal injury on this VIN. The repairs have been delayed because this vehicle is an unsafe danger to drive! the fuel line defect was undetectable even though I had regular maintenance care and checkups.
Takata recall and possible fuel leak recall. Purchased vehicle 6/6/2015 and have never received recall notice letter, nor was vehicle fixed by dealer.
Takata recall: my vehicle has not been fixed and Ford dealer says they cannot do anything until I receive a letter from you to take to them and not sure why parts aren't in. No incident with my vehicle as yet. Your recall date is June, 2016.
I went to a Ford dealer in dover delaware in January 2016 to have the fuel tan k inspected for leaks. It passed but was not updated in the safecar recall database.
When going approximately 40 mph, the engine and/or transmission stutters when attemting to accelerate. This also happens at 50 mph.

The speedometer stopped working, two or three warning light on the instrument panel came on, the car lost all power. I would only go forward with the gas petal pushed to the floor. It's a known issue, found out from youtube many people have had the same exact issue. It's an intermittent issue that happens when the vehicle is on the road creating a hazardous situation for everyone. Here is what is known about this issue. Technical service bulletin 07-3-11 6f50 transaxles built prior to 1/1/2007 - dtc p0715, p0717, p0718, p0720, p0721, p0722 and/or harsh engagement, no upshift, fifth gear only. Some 2007 Edge and mkx vehicles equipped with a 6f50 transaxle with a transaxle build date prior to 1/1/2007, with any output shaft speed (oss) sensor or turbine shaft speed (tss) sensor diagnostic trouble code(s) (dtcs) p0715, p0717, p0718, p0720, p0721, p0722 and/or harsh engagements, no upshift, fifth gear only, could have an intermittent short in the oss or tss sensor. Ford knows about this flaw and common problem and there is a TSB, but no recall. This is the problem that is causing the symptoms in the video.
I just been told by koons that I would have to pay 1,300 to fix a throttle issue on my 2008 Ford Edge, which I purchased as a used vehicle labor day special 2014. The car stalls, stops, acceleration is affected. Ford knows the throttles are faulty and instead of recalling, they did a customer satisfaction and agreed to repair affected Edge from 2009-2014. This is bogus I have 2008, which that has this issue. I refuse to pay this and don't have the money to invest in junk. Koons told me because of my hesitation I was investigating in a car that has valued equity & would offer great trade. They knew. . They yet put me in another dangerous car. I had accident as well, driving CA lost speed & stalled while crossing over in parking lot.

While preparing to stop at a light, seemed to have lost all power. Speedometer dropped to zero, airbag light came on and odometer was blank with a readout in its place that said something like odo failure also the wrench icon lit up. Shifted to park and the car jumped and jerked and loud grinding noises came from transmission. Was able to creep to a side street. Turned off engine . Waited several minutes , restarted car and the instrument panel returned to normal. Drove home about 3 miles. Took it to shop and they said it was a shaft seal. They replaced it for $182. 00 the part was $12. Got home and it leaks very badly it has leaked about a cup of fluid in 4 hours. (this was parked / not running) I am taking it back to the shop and hoping they can fix it right. I have been driving for over 30 years and never had this kind of problem.

The vehicle stalls at low speeds and at red lights and stop signs without warning and without great consistency. This happens multiple times per day/trip with no resolution. Dealer and independent mechanic cannot identify the problem as no codes are thrown when it happens and it restarts after stalling. This is a significant safety issue.
The contact owns a 2008 Ford Edge. The contact smelled fuel and discovered fuel leaking underneath the vehicle. The dealer stated that the vehicle was not included in a recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 76,000.
I see similar complaints on your web site, about rough shifting into reverse from the parked position and when backing up from the drive position. Is there a planed recall for this issue?.
I am unable to "select affected parts" in this form: parts - power train, transmission, battery. Over the past 6 months there have been numerous incidents where my vehicle, upon returning to speed or entering a roadway/highway, or otherwise entering a roadway, it has made a noise, a sudden jerk, seem to hold speed (fail to increase speed) and seems to feel like it is failing to changed gears (appears to rev in rpms slightly), then jerks again, and comes back into routine shifting. It is an automatic. This happens often. I have had the fluid check, flushed, replaced, asked my mechanic and she can find no issues. It seems to feel like it bogs down, but rpms appear to increase (almost as if it is not in gear/neutral). It seems to be happening more and more frequently. I have routinely checked my car for recalls. And I should note have had the ball bearing go bad (as recalled) and replaced, including the entire arm on the left rear. Additionally, my battery has failed and been replaced (approximately 3 years ago) and has since required replacement again. It needs to be jumped started, and upon first replacement (by Ford) it was noted not all cylinders or cells were charged/charging.
After driving the vehicle for 20 minutes it began to slow down and the more gas (peddle pressure) we gave it the slower it continued. It felt as though it was chugging' along and 'sputtering'.
The vechile loss power and stalled out. After that the car on the second occurrence won"t start had to charge battery the car raced whiled idling and had no power to run. Went back to the dealer and are unable to find any problem. So we are now stuck with a car that will shut down and lose all power which is not safe to drive do to the fact that if we drove it at night and stalls out we lose all power and with no power the other cars may run into us and cause an accident which we are unable to prevent. Thank you this is a dangerous situation. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
