Body problems of the 2011 Ford Edge - part 1

The throttle body issues again with the burning smell as well the whole car shut down like the other two times I reported on this website! please note the team who fixed it last time was at poway Ford and the main manager from auto maintenance was fired due to attempting to correct the issue on my 2011 Ford Edge!.

Overheating && electrical !!!! it’s been over heating since I got the dealership fixed it free of charge I’m still having the same problem I looked it up there are 3 recalls that’s I’m having the exact same problems with.

There were three recalls listed on your site that are no longer active which perfectly describe what is going on with my car at the moment we have had major electrical problems with it we have had problems with the tailgate not latching and opening while driving down the road also overheating when stopped at a light all of a sudden the air conditioner starts blowing hot air and it shoots up and overheats while you're idling out of traffic light the electrical system is totally messed up I can't even begin to list everything that has gone wrong with that the lights being turned on when we're not in the car to the no key in car actually going down the road it shut down no key and we were able to get it back on again but for a minute I thought that the car was going to stop moving it seems that this model car has had these issues in the past that recalls have been put out for but nothing is active for it right now and we're experiencing what was going on in those recalls I would appreciate it if you could look into this for me my daughter drives his car to school and she has been stranded several times I don't feel that it's safe for her to drive in this condition please let me know if there's anything you can do to reinstate any of these recalls to goodwill type extension of these recalls I don't know what to do at this point because all of this is very expensive to fix I am [xxx] she is a student I just want her to be able to drive a car that she's not going to get hurt in or be stranded someplace thank you for taking the time to look at this and I will hope to hear from you again my email is [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. Front drivers door will not open from outside of vehicle.

The passenger door warning keeps coming on saying door ajar and keeps lights illuminated until I manually move latch on door to catch.

Passenger door door ajar light laminates and will not shut off. Now battery keeps dying.

On 12-11-22 I had a flat tire. I went to put on the spare, following directions step by step, and placing the jack where the arrow points in the correct spot. I jacked my car up and once the tire was off, the car fell onto the ground bending the jack. I then realized the area the jack sits, along with other areas under the car are badly corroded. It's available for inspection, yes. This could have badly hurt me or my 4 year old who was near me had the jack flew out or my hand had been in the area. I am concerned if there are any other framework issues since the car landed hard on concrete. I also dont know if there is other hidden corrosion I cannot see that could pose saftey issues while driving.

While driving the car on the highway, the upper panoramic roof glass violently exploded and sent shattered glass to the following cars. The sudden explosion diverted my attention to the red which would have caused a serious accident.

When closing my front passenger door, the door ajar light remains on. With this, my doors will not lock creating a potentially dangerous situation where a person could open my doors if I’m driving. I either have to repeatedly slam the door until it closes or just leave it as is, but as stated my doors will not lock. I do not want the risk of having someone opening my doors while I’m inside, have young children open the door while in drive, or have someone break into my car.

Driver's door shows door ajar alarm. Even though doors are all securely closed. Doors will not lock while driving the car. Real safety issue for any children in the vehicle.

My passenger door ajar would come on and I know my door is shut. It's starting to get bad now. The other day when I was driving on a city road my driver side door ajar light came on and then the door popped open a little to where I can hear the outside air coming in. I was driving for 10 minutes before this happen. This has to be fix soon.

I (skyla burks) took my Ford Edge to the dealership to have my recalls repaired! my brake booster being the main one I'm concerned with because that's the biggest safety problem! the dealership told me because my car was over a certain amount of miles that the recall expired! how can the brake booster recall ever expire? especially when that's the means of being able to stop! my brakes are so bad that I don't like putting my children in the car! I don't feel safe at all driving it & they tell me they can't repair due to the mileage! well the mileage don't have anything to with my brakes going out & causing me to wreck & get injured or worse! this is a huge safety problem for not just myself! so how can I get this fixed?.

All door sensors needed replacing. The front interface display module needed to be replaced because the hazard lights came on for no reasons and couldn't be turned off. Rear view camera doesn't work. Front hood needs painting from poor clear coat. It took one month for Ford to get the fidm. Numerous recalls but Ford said they don't apply to the Ford Edge. As a family we have a Ford Edge, f-150 lariat, escape,explorer and a f-250. This is current and not including all the other vehicles we had from Ford.

Front passenger door latch/sensor malfunction. Door ajar light stays on even though the door is closed. The doors don't lock and the dome light stays on because the car thinks the door is open. This is a huge safety concern because I have a small son and we can't lock the doors while he's in the vehicle.

Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. The alarm will go off in the middle of the night , because the passenger side door was ajar. The contact received a notification from the manufacturer ( customer satisfaction program 19n09 ) driver side door latch. The contact called the dealer levittown Ford, 3195 hempstead tpk, levittown, ny11756 , and was advised that the program only included the driver side and not the passenger side. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 125,000. Bp.

Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the door ajar warning was received and the contact found that the driver's door outside handle was fracturer at the key entry area. The contact had to tape to the door handle to be abke to open the driver's door. The contact received NHTSA campaign number 10v516000 (latches, locks, linkages and the manufacturer advised the contact that the reacall didnot covered the fractured driver's door handle. The vehicle was not repaired. The faillure mileage was 83,000. Li.

Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. The contact stated that after the rear electronic lift gate door was in the opened position the door erroneously closed making contact with the owners head. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000. Jft.

Had a recall on driver door issue with secure of door . But on my back driver door has the same problem . Door could become un safe when driving . Dont know if it is secure. While driving. Shows open. Something went wrong with abs system while drving didnt stop right away . Had to stop and wait before brake system became fuctionable .

My 2011 Ford Edge has a problem with the door latch: the passenger front door and the driver rear. Everytime the door is shut it says door ajar.

Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. The contact stated when attempting to drive the vehicle internal lights would unexpectadly illuminate without warning and drain the battery. The contact also stated that none of the door locks work properly therefore the vehicle stays unlocked. The vehicle was taken to( krieger Ford, inc. 1800 morse rd, columbus, OH 43229) for a diagnosis. The diagnosis was the passenger side lock needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired twice however the failure reoccured. The manufacturer was made aware of this issue but did not offer any assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 71,000 tp.

Door latch sensor failed. Car reports door is open when it isn't. Car won't properly lock from interior with "open door" condition. Occurs in spite of motion.

Door ajar sensor on the driver side door wont go off.

1. Drivers door ajar light warning stays on. 2. Head lights. The door ajar light and dome light stays on have too repeatedly slam the door for light to go off. Also headlights goes out at night sometime the right light goes out or the left some times 4th they both will go out have to switch the knob back to off position and then turn back on to get the headlights back on.

Driver side door indicates door ajar which affects locks. If it showes door ajar you can not lock the doors if you do it immediately unlocks all doors.

Door indicator light stay on interior lights stay on indicating that the driver side door is open when door is shut. Lights pop on at any rate of speed scary and extremely dangerous passenger side seat doesn't move at all sometimes the whole screen will go a dime white and blank during any rate of speed. Extremely dangerous.

Tl the contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the door ajar and lift gate warning indicators illuminated when the vehicle was started. The contact stated that the doors were not open when the indicators illuminated. The contact also stated that the backup camera did not work. Additionally, when the gear was in reverse, a noise was heard from the front end of the vehicle, which caused the vehicle to stop before moving again. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the body control module needed to be replaced and advised the contact to take the vehicle to a dealer. The vehicle was taken to purvis Ford Lincoln (540-898-3000, located at 3660 jefferson davis hwy, fredericksburg, va 22408) where the contact was informed that there was no recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided a case number. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

The driver's door light ajar sensor stays on even after the door is shut and keeps the interior dome light on. This has been happening on and on again off again basis for years. Recently it is happening all the time. When we get in and start the car no matter how many times the door is opened and shut the notice stays on. This will then continue as long as the car is in reverse and makes backing up at night very hard as you can't see with the interior lights on. When backing from the driveway into the street you cannot see if there is traffic. When the car is put in drive the dome light will finally go out after a short period of time. If we park the car and lock it the dome light will stay on for 5 or more minutes as it registers as the front door being ajar. Neighbors have stopped at our home to tell us we left our interior lights on.

Rear hatchback door falls.

I have received faulty error messages on the vehicle, for example the other day I was driving down the road and the light came on like the car was overheated however there was no smoke coming from the car and the temperature gauge never moved up. My passenger car door light sensor says that there is a door ajar when all doors are closed whether the vehicle is stationary or driving along the city street. When I open the front passenger door and close it sometimes the inside lights remain on in the vehicle.

Door lach for dirver side it would not close. Keeps door open. Message with ajar door open. This issue occures while driving as well. This is a hazard issue. Also, kills the battery as car could not be locked.

Driver side door latch sensor stay on indicating doors is open even when it's already closed. Interior lights stay on and drains battery life leaving consumers stranded.

Tire pressure and door sensors failure.

Front door ajar light will not turn off/stays on. Draining my battery this happened to my back door 4 years ago. However, at least I was still under warranty.

The drivers door will not lock and when I do try, it comes unlocked and the lights stay on. The control dings to tell e the door is what.

The driver side door ajar light comes on even if the door is latched.
