Tl the contact owns a 2012 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the driver's seat belt did not retract and did not make it to the pretensioner. The vehicle was driven to future Ford of sacramento (4625 madison Ave, sacramento, CA 95841) where it was determined that the retracter was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 9,485. The VIN was unknown.
1. When vehicle placed in park, p indicator does not illuminate and when door is opened an audible alarm is sounded and a visisble alarm comes up on the guages saying to place vehicle in park. 2. When putting vehicle in reverse, sony display goes blacks and displays an error message stating that the back up camera needs to be inspected. 3. Driver side seatbelt is slow to retract. Recently purchased vehicle within last 6 months and noticed some of these are common problems throughout the Ford Edge community.
All doors leaking at the door seal retainers and will not be able to repair due to poor designed flaw! all Ford cars having water conditions and still allowed to sell this defective cars ! I am a master mechanic and diagnosed it my self ! this is strictly a Ford quality issue for all Ford Edges of all years and most likely all there cars have a water issue . And it is my experience that car dealers know about it and due not issue a repair because of cost! it is a sad day for american products . Forum cars built better that this! by my experience.
Tl-the contact owns a 2012 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the front passenger side seat belt pinned the passenger to the seat if there was too much movement. The passenger had to disconnect the seat belt and reconnect it in order for the seat belt to function properly. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnosis and the contact was informed that there was nothing they could because the seat belts were designed that way. The manufacturer was notified, but offered no assistance. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure and current mileages were 15,000. Sm.
