general problems of the 2013 Ford Edge - part 2

Tl the contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. While driving various speeds or while the vehicle was stationary, there was a strong odor of fuel detected inside the vehicle and the ignition fuel warning indicator illuminated. The contact also mentioned that the passenger side door ajar warning indicator illuminated when the door was completely closed. Furthermore, the passenger door did not lock. The vehicle was taken to jordan Ford (13010 I-35, live oak, TX 78233, (210) 653-3673) where it was diagnosed that the fuel line needed to be replaced before it caught fire. Also, the half shaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v002000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 115,000.

Pto unit has begun leaking oil. This is a well-documented issue that Ford refuses to address. The unit has not failed as of yet, but all research shows that I will be required to have critical repairs performed or I might face a safety issue while driving at highway speeds. This issue is not repairable as the unit is a maintenance free part and has no ability to be maintained by normal repair processes.

My daughter left for work at 6 in the morning, it was minus 25/30 with the wind chill. She went to make a left turn on to a main state truck route and the car started to shake and shutter and lost all power. The engine light came on too. After the car quit completely it then was restarted. It continued to act up. A friend checked it and his computer was showing codes for the throttle body and sensors. It is now at the dealership. I called Ford and was told there is no recall or extended warranty for the issue. I was told they would note my complaint and if it is ever recalled or ok'd for and extended warranty then they would let us know and she could be reimbursed. We live off 2 state truck routes that are heavily traveled, but as she is a young female at dark with a vehicle that is dark and the road is icy and its cold enough that schools and places have shut down and people have died from exposure in this , I will not lose a child because Ford is to lazy to pull their head outta their keister and start thinking old school again and consider their customers. Fix the issue! don't sweep it under the rug because its easier than facing your "new style" vehicles have issues. I have no use for Ford. My expedition, my aunts expedition and her daughters escape all did this exact same thing. At this moment we are waiting to hear from the dealership as to what is going on. If this site allows me to update I will. She was going approximatly 30 mph and as she pressed on the gas peddle it slowly died.

Engine light on, diagnostic test shows gas vapor escaping (leak) code p0456 while driving.

There is a leak/crack in the fuel neck. Every time I refuel the vehicle, it will not start right away. After a minute it will start. The dealer recommended I spend $600 to replace it. Also, driver window is scraping when it goes up and outside decorative panel paint is fading.

Was driving the car and the accelerator just goes dead. This is the second time in 3 years it has happened while driving 65 mph. Very scary. Have to cruise to side of the road as the gas peddle will not respond at all. Ford already charged us $750 to fix in 2016 and now it has happened again. Very unsafe electronic throttle body was already replaced once unexceptable.

2013 Ford Edge went into limp home mode. The accelerator pedal did not work. The car idled roughly and had normal a/c, brakes and steering. The car was going 55 mph on a crowded roadway.

8/11/2018 I came upon stopped traffic with not enough time to decelerate. I immediately hit my brakes, but rearended a pickup truck. The truck flipped over on its passenger side. I continued traveling and went on the embankment. Airbags deployed. I noticed front passenger side in flames. Passersby got both of us out. But the car was totally engulfed in flames. It happened on interstate.

While driving down road (highway) car goes into a limp mode and will trust start slowing down and eventually comes to a slow crawl less than 5 mpg.

While driving down the road the vehicle will exhibit a full loss of power. After pulling to the side of the road and turning the vehicle off and trying to restart it will experience a long and hard start. The vehicle will do this weather you are driving 5mph or 70 mph. I was traveling on hwy 441 up a steep hill and tried to pass a truck. The car completely lost power. I was nearly rear ended by another car. On June 7, 2018 between enterprise, al. And montgomery al. I was attempting to legally pass another car and the car again completely lost power almot causing a front end collision with another car at 65 miles an hour. Someone is going to get killed if Ford does not fix my car. I hope it is not your family.

First my engine light was flashing when accelerating onto freeway, then eventually stayed solid. Code came back as air sensors. I replaced o� sensors up and down lean bank 2s, and the brake booster went out on me completely, followed by car stalling everytime brake was applied for longer then 15 seconds on and off . Long story short paid 2,000 on repairs. Then all the sudden engine lights back on followed by low tone rumble and power loss when accelerating to fast. I already replaced spark plugs and coil packs all 6, air filter and had 3 oil changes. Sad part just purchased the car 7 months ago. Havoc module to change ac to heat also went out on both sides but I disconnected an reconnected box on both sides to fix myself . Don't know if it makes a difference on air pressure needed for engine.

Unexpected loss of power and wrench and parking shift messages shown on my SUV display. On 03312018 my Ford Edge sport awd 2013 surprised me when an unexpected loss of power happen during an slow motion in a secondary road. Unable to manage my vehicle I stop at the nearest gas station using the slope backwards in neutro shift until reach the gas station behind me. Then when stop I began to read vehicle book and shut down the vehicle as recommended. After 30 mins I restart the vehicle and the loss power disappear reason why I decide to return back to my home. When I enter to the consumer report page from my pc at home to request info for any recall for this vehicle I find out that a recall number exist for this type of SUV. The recall number is 14s10 since august2014 but I never has been advised. Few month ago I went to the dealer for a review of a problem but they did nothing and said that the vehicle was in perfect condition avoiding their responsibility to tell me about any recall for this problem. I still experimenting the same situation since 03312018, risking my life and the life of other people in the road as my SUV continues without losing power but taken the pertinent precaution. I still very worry as the consumer report stated that in addition this failure may cause the vehicle to roll away if the parking brake is not applied despite the transmission being placed in park.

The first time I noticed a throttle sudden acceleration was when I was driving about 45 miles down a road and suddenly a thrust of acceleration jumped the vehicle and then even when I pushed on the brakes the car thrust forward so I put the car in neutral and it stopped, luckily there were no cars around. The second time it happened I was at a red light and the car suddenly accelerated on its own I floored the brake but still the car wouldn't stop and then put the car in neutral and the car stopped. There were no warning indicators to indicate an issue.

Capless gas cap keeps giving the indication light to check & losing gas mileage but no smell of gas.

Motor dies while driving . Turn off key will start back , motor will die on city street and on highway at any speed can not find out why.

When stepping on the gas pedal the vehicle would not accelerate. The vehicle would not die but would not move. The check engine light came on. 2013 Ford Edge with 82,638 miles, yellow warning light came on indicating, " check fuel fill inlet" I have tried numerous time opening and closing the gas cap cover with no results. My SUV came with no gas cap. Problem continue to persist even when car is stationary or in motion.

In the last 3 months my Ford Edge has shut down 6 times and goes to lump mode. After puling to the side of the road and restarting vehicle everything is fine this happens without warning and at interstate speeds so far I have avoided having an accident but its only a matter of time. I have contacted Ford customer service with no help I have taken it to Ford for service and they say there is not any codes in system and without them there isn't anything they can do. After doing research there are multiple reports with the same problem Ford needs to addressed this before someone gets seriously hurt.

Door latch doesn't latch disabling door locks and it is a hazard. Was told not on recall. Heavy smell of exhaust. When filling gas the evap code comes and it is rough to start.

Tl- the contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated that whenever the vehicle's heat or ac system is being used the vehicle would emmit strong fuel odors causing the passenger to feel light headed. The contact stated they were beginning to have health issues as light headed, headaches, and stomach issues whenever in the vehicle for lengthy amount of time inhaling the fuel odor. The contact informed the dealer who refused to diagnose the vehicle due to the fact that there was no engine warning light illuminated. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 59,000. Gl.

Fuel level drops dramatically, the fuel indicator will drop up to 20 miles per every mile of actual mileage. Gas seems to be leaking and odometers will skip numbers.

My 2013 Ford Edge on several occasions loses all engine power. The rpm's drop to about 600 and depressing the accelerator has no effect on the rpm's. The 5 times it happened during the month of October 2016 I was traveling at speeds ranging from 40 to 50 mph. Fortunately, I was able to safely coast to the nearest shoulder without incident. The potential for a catastrophic incident is obvious.

Engine became totally disabled at 50 mph on a rural county highway. Struggled to steer vehicle to shoulder of road because of lost power. Fortunately we were on a straight section of road. I can only think that in so many other driving situations this problem could have put us in a life threatening position. Ford really needs to find the problem and fix it!.

Upon inspection, it was discovered that fuel leaked from a fuel line under the hood. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 74,000.

Was driving approx. 45 mph coming thru a 5 corners major intersection at peak traffic time of 5:15pm. Driving on state farm to market road in town of 100k residents. Had been driving approx. 3 miles. Temp in 80's, roads dry. Complete loss of power, nearly rear ended. Car crept a little, moved to middle turn lane, strong forward lurch/jerk, yellow wrench light on. Put car in park, turned it off. Tried to start, nothing. Sat about a minute, tried, started. Limped to parking lot. Turned vehicle off, sat for about 20 minutes. Then took route home going thru subdivisions where stall would not jeapordize life. Could not drive to dealer as that would involve highway, and risk of fatal accident. I was very fortunate today, have never been that scared driving a vehicle in 40 yrs of driving.

Three occurrences: driving 30 mph, all forward movement stopped. Engine wrench came on, no power, no rpm, no response. Had to cross 3 lanes of traffic (coasting) to prevent us being t-boned in the intersection. Next : driving 70 mph on the interstate. Same thing happened, all power stopped, nearly run over by an 18 wheeler. Had to coast to the side of the interstate. Third : the very next day, same thing happened on a country road. No traffic. No near miss this time. Had it fixed at Ford the following day. Cost nearly $250. Research shows that Ford has replaced 1. 6 million electronic throttle bodies. This needs recalled. I'm fighting Ford for a refund that I paid for. I had to have my family safe. Please hit Ford hard. This is very dangerous. I think they've had a recall on fusion / escape. Why not Edge. I'd like to know how many Edge vehicles have had etb replaced.

Driving down a city street. Stopped at a light and when it was green we got up to about 45 mph, the car started sputtering would not accelerate. It went into limp mode and we had to pull over into the turn lane. We could not drive the vehicle and had to be towed to a dealer. Dealer advised faulty throttle body which I understand is a known issue.

Fuel odor in cabin. Every time I put gasoline on it, when trying to turn on, it fails and I have to try several times. While parked it turn off by it self and a red notification saying something like oil pressure appears. I went to dealer and they say is ok. I entered the VIN in your site and there are 2 recalls. Dealer never contact me about that.

While the vehicle was in motion, driving down a state highway, it stopped responding to pressure on the accelerator. A light on the dash advised me to check the manual. I had to pull off the road, turn off the engine, then restart it, which reset the throttle an allowed me to continue home. This process was repeated three times on the interstate on my way to work. I had the same problem in January, when the dealership couldn't find the problem, and sent me home in a faulty vehicle, only to have it delivered to them via tow truck a day later, resulting in them replacing the throttle body. Five months later, I have the same problem, but the car is out of warranty, so they wont replace it. They do, however want to charge me a $120 diagnostic fee, after I told them exactly what the problem was. This has put my life in danger a total of six times, to date. It is a known problem. There should be a recall.

Driver door ajar always on, sometimes doors want lock with door ajar, makes car unsafe inside lights stay on, unsafe. Engine light on, has came on twice while driving on highway, first code check evap emission system.
