1 Owners/service Manual problem

Failure Date: 08/31/2017

August 31, 2017: traveling 80mph (without cruise control, in left hand lane that had no shoulder), engine suddenly lost power, dropped below idle speed, & running rough. Managed to limp car to right shoulder without incident! info system displayed a "yellow wrench" "see owner's manual. " has occurred 4 times prior to this incident under 40 mph. Engine died completely one time with "low oil pressure" message. Everything has been checked. No codes & oil system is fine. Have discovered on line that there is an issue with throttle body across several Ford models. The second time this failed was right after making a turn. This last incident which has brought me here to lodge a complaint, was very scary and could have caused major loss of life. Why are there no recalls! I have just found a California class action lawsuit regarding Ford throttle deceleration defect. After each incident the car restarts & runs normal. I never know when it going to quit!.

2 Owners/service Manual problem

Failure Date: 10/25/2016

The drivers side door ajar alarm activates when the door is not open. This causes interior light to remain on for at least 10 minutes before shutoff. When the car is in motion, then comes to a stop say, at an intersection, an alarm sounds again and requests that you shift to park. I hit the ok button on the steering whel, but the process repeats. I have sometimes been able to stop the alarms by wiggling the wiring harness at the door hinge, but this may be coincidental. This happens when the car is moving, and when still. The auto lock will also not engage during the alarm, and even when manually activating it won't engage. I never know if this is a true alarm or not. I assume always it is false. This is a dangerous assumption. Repeated door slamming or normal closing does not stop the alarm. This happens every day and has been for several months. I see the issue on car complaint sites, there should be a recall before someone falls from a moving vehicle thinking the alarm was false when it was not.

3 Owners/service Manual problem

Failure Date: 07/31/2016

Driver's door alerting as not closed. Dome light stays on, door open alert stays on while driving. I have to manually move the door latch to get it to work correctly. Sometimes it does not lock, and sometimes it remains locked so I can't close my door. Since this started, as I'm driving, the alert comes on to shift my car in park, because the door is open!! I am very concerned for I drive my kids around frequently, and I don't know whether it will close, lock or open!! when I manually move the latch, the alerts go off completely.

4 Owners/service Manual problem

Failure Date: 10/06/2015

The drivers door sensor intermittently does not recognize the door is closed and therefor will not automatically lock the doors when the car moves. The doors will not lock manually with the door lock switch as the sensor sees the door as being open and will automatically and immediately un-lock them. Manually locking each door will lock the doors but this is inconvenient and not a solution to the problem. This is an ongoing problem.

5 Owners/service Manual problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2015

Door ajar warning comes on, even when door is shut. This prevents the doors from locking and they can only be locked manually, the dome lights will never go off and eventually the battery dies, and the ac will only blow cold on 1 setting. It will not blow heat. The keypad will not let the vehicle lock when the warning is on. This happens when the car is moving or stationary, and intermittently. Sometimes it doesn't happen, sometimes I have to shut the door 20 times to get it to lock properly with the lights off.

6 Owners/service Manual problem

Failure Date: 08/05/2015

"door ajar" sign will not go off after several attempts to shut the door properly. The sign stays on during a drive with several alerts to stop the car, "shift to park" and shut the door. Also, when you try to lock the door manually, the system still thinks the door is open and will not lock. This is a issue of safety for the driver, and passengers (especially children) if their door cannot be properly locked. When this first started happening the sign would go off after 3-5 attempts. Now after 10 days of having this issue, this sign will not go off at all. As well as the cabin lights will not go off for an extended period of time, draining the battery (even if the car is not turned on). Finally, I took my vehicle to the local Ford dealership and the spring is broken inside the door, the same issue with other Ford brands they have already recalled. This is a major safety issue for transporting children due to the safety issue since the door will not lock. I hope this issue is taken under serious consideration since this is clearly a issue for the 2013 Ford Edge as many others have had this issue as well.

7 Owners/service Manual problem

Failure Date: 09/17/2013

This is a 2013 Ford Edge limited. It has 13,000 miles and is 15 months old. This vehicle has a myford touch screen and system. This system has been givign us problems since we got the Edge. On September 17, 2013 my wife was stopped in a parking lot trying to get the myford touch system to make a call from her cell phone. This cell phone has been pared to the myford touch system since day 1 but refused to recognize the phone to make a call. She was touchign the screen to make the call and the screen cracked. The systems that are part of the screen will not work now due to the cracked screen. The driver is forced to manually work around the system controls since the touch screen will not work. Ford regoinal service refuses to replace the cracked touch screen as a warrenty issue. The vehicle is well within the warrenty period. Ford requires $1,500 to replace the cracked touch screen. Ford has multitudes of issues with this myford touch system which the touch screen is a part of the overall system. This cracked screen needs to work to make the vehicle as safe to drive as advertized by Ford. Ford is simply not covering the replacement of an item that is needed for the vehicle to perform safely.
