Back up camera goes in and out, it's flips upside down and do wired things , it also say call dealership, the picture sometimes be in reverse , and brake light stays on have to pump brake in order for it to go off.
Rear backup camera constantly displays an inverted (upside-down) image and the picture quality becomes unclear/blurry. This makes it difficult to judge distance and orientation when reversing and creates a safety risk when backing up.
My backup camera continues to not work and says I need to contact the dealership. When I contact the place that I got it from it says it's not covered under their warranty in the contact Ford. When I contact Ford they said there was some rear backup camera thing going on and that the recall had not been issued yet? also I've been having issues with it connecting to any kind of device, it will say connecting phone and load and load and load and never connect or the phone will be connected and say it's not connected so calls and stuff won't come through and when calls you come through it switches to aux and then you can't hear the person who's speaking which I find dangerous because then you have to touch your phone while driving. Another issue that I'm having is when I fill up my tank it is saying for example if I put $40 in and it's the same price it was the day before and I have to fill up my tank I would get different readings so sometimes I might get like 370 in other days I might get like 205 which makes it difficult to really gauge how much gas you have. Have had multiple times where I've had to completely reset the infotainment system because it does not work and you can't push any buttons on it including the buttons that are below that infotainment system that control tuning seeking and temperatures of the car and do you think that there's some electrical problems somewhere that could be causing all of these issues.
The backup camera is sometimes upside down, flashes, or won't come on at all. Various things other than functioning properly. I've completed the sync update and that didn't resolve the issue. This started happening around the same time newer Ford models were showing the exact same issues.
It is my rear view camera. I would put the vehicle in reverse and it will sometimes start to work and than it will shut off and a message comes across saying I need to contact dealership. It will sometimes come up and be upside down or I will put the vehicle in reverse and the back up camera just flashes while in use. I have not taken the vehicle to the shop. I have called and they said it sounds electrical. But the recall you just released on 2015 Ford Edges for the back up camera is the same thing that is going on with my vehicle and I have a 2013.
Water pump replacement needs to be done on my Ford Edge. Driving down the highway my Ford Edge started over heating out of no where. When I pulled over check everything out. Discovered I was leaking antifreeze, and the leak was coming from the water pump area. Now my car is sitting due to can’t find a shop to replace it for a decent price . Was told this was common issue with my car and there’s big lawsuit over it due to not being a recall issue.
Dash is saying rearview camera is unavailable please contact the dealership.
The rear back up camera image is inverted. I see that the 2015-2018s were recalled but this is also happening with the 2013s.
The backup camera stopped working consistently in June 2025. Safety recall has been issued for 2015 vehicles and newer, but not for 2013 and 2014 years. Ford dealer said the camera needs to be replaced for $740, but numerous online comments show other Ford owners with the same issue starting at the same time. I believe this is a software issue, and would like 2013 Ford Edge to be added to safety recall.
While driving I came upon a red light. While sitting at the red light I noticed my car began to loose power and started shaking. My rpm dropped to almost 0. My car was loosing power while driving. No light has appeared on my dashboard, my gas tank said I had 98 miles till empty. I had two young kids in my vehicle. I anxiously started tapping the gas a little and made in into the nearest parking lot. This is unacceptable as I was in the middle of the road with children. I sat in my car with it on idle and nothing happened.
The sun roof failed to close when it was wide open. I manually pushed it close most of the way, but could not get it to completely close. A google search has shown that other Ford Edges have had this problem. I have garbage bags taped around the opening to help prevent water getting in, but water still has gotten in which can cause damage.
The dash keeps showing an error “rear door ajar”. The door is closed and locked. However the interior lights will not go out because “a door is open”. This causes a safety issue when driving.
Rear view (back up) camera works only on and off. The screen goes black and a warning to contact the dealer shows up. It is getting more and more frequent lately. I am having a very hard time in crowded parking lots. Now it has stopped completely.
1. My safety system/camera system is no longer working properly. The screen displays either a black/blank screen, an inverted (upside down) image, or an image that appears to be zoomed in to a very small viewing area. The alerts (beeping) does not function consistently when backing up. The horn does not always work. At times the entire electrical display including the sound system will reset without prompting. The back door hatch will actively close even when there is something in the opening. 2. Safety is at risk because the video system is in place as a secondary alert system to prevent accident or injury. The horn is a necessary item. If the electrical system should reset during operation this could cause an accident. The rear hatch could cause injury if it does close. 3. These issues have been witnessed by other people, but not in a dealership or service center because these places charge outrageous fees. 4. No inspection done by manufacturer/police/insurance. At time of state regulated inspection all aspects pertinent to that were functional 5. These issues began over a year ago with camera malfunction, the other issues have become present throughout that time.
The panoramic sun roof exploded while going down the highway sending glass flying in the air. The sunroof shade was not open so the driver and 2 infants in the back seat were not injured. I contacted Ford motor company and was given a case number czh-03059174. They directed me to turn it in to my insurance company which I did not do. I took the vehicle to the body shop, they found a replacement and installed it for less than my insurance deductible.
I currently have an few issues to report. When I press on the brakes, they make an air whistling sound and there’s nothing noticeably wrong with them. I’m also having problems with electrical on my screen and it won’t always connect with my phone and it also delays on the screen when it’s powering on or off. My tires have been leaking air since I purchased my vehicleand when I took it in, they said Ford mechanics said they sealed the valves but right when I got it back, it gave me a warning that I had low air pressure in my tires once again and my vehicle tires appeared like they were still low on air. I constantly have to fill them with air when I drive it. Every day they leak. But my biggest concern is the electrical and the brakes. I don’t know the exact date on when the electrical started acting up. I’m also curious if there’s been a recall on anything to do with the defrost on the windows because my windows do not defrost very well in our cold climate. I’m also wondering about the headlights. They seem like they’re not bright enough we’re just strange because they’re clear and there’s nothing obstructing them that’s noticeable. For safety I believe they should be a lot brighter than they are. I have not been in any car accidents and no one hit my vehicle.
There is currently a recall on back up cameras for Ford Edges 2015-2019, the cameras are upside down, blacking out, lots of issues. My Edge is a 2013 and I am having the same issue. I am unable to use the camera as it’s upside down and when it’s not upside down, it’s flashing off and on. It’s hazardous and this should fall under the recall as well. I was told since I have a 2013, it does not fall under the recall. Which it should.
The back up camera shows an inverted image. This has been happening for the past year. This is similar to the recall for 2015-19 Ford Edges, however we are have a 2013.
Starting about a year and a half ago, my backup camera would either say “camera is unavailable, contact dealership” or be upside down or some sort of distorted image. Sometimes the camera works. It poses a risk to me and others. Sometimes the camera will cut out and go black after I have started backing up with it. No other warning lights have come on. Other Ford Edges have been recalled for the same issue but not the 2013.
Tire pressure sensor fault (tps) hissing sound when applying brakes. Brake pedal is hard and very difficult to bring the vehicle to a complete stop. When parked or at a traffic light you constantly hear air being released and vehicle will boggle for a few seconds then stall on me. When I bring the vehicle to a stop I have to put it in park, and pump my brakes to stop the air from leaking to prevent it from stalling on me. Over all the vehicle is a huge safety concern and a hazard to have on the road.
My brakes are hard to press sometimes hard to stop. Jerky and then hard then soft. I read brake booster master cylinder or hcu all Ford's mistakes. Still no recall. I'm outside of the extended warranty because I just bought this 3 months ago and it's over 10 years old only 115000 miles on it. If I die I'm having my family sue Ford. Codes p2 195 and p2 197 are now showing after a week and a half of this problem. Taking it to Ford Tuesday. Calling customer service Monday. Shame on Ford.
The driver door latch assembly won't engage when you shut the door the doorv ajar light stays on and you have to open and shut the door several times slamming it real hard to get it to go out you have to spray wd-40 in the latch and work it to get the door to latch.
I was issued a customer satisfaction program #13n02 while replacing brake booster helped, bypassing the fact the master cylinder fluid leaked into brake booster and was not part of repair is just ridiculous. Until master cylinder is repaired, problem will not be resolved! please remedy by including master cylinder with brake booster 13n02. My brake pedal still goes to floor, I am requesting your immediate response.
Vehicle will flash awd off and have a wrench symbol. Car will drastically slow down and shake. Once car is cut off and on again, it will work for a little bit before repeating the problem. No codes recorded.
Brake booster went bad on the vehicle after 8 years. Brake pedal had to be pressed to the floor. The fuel line had a leak so anytime gas was put into the vehicle it would leak down the frame to the ground. Wiring for the back up camera goes in & out. I’m afraid of the brakes not working & a fire being caused by the leaking fuel or faulty electrical lines connecting the rear camera to the display.
Door ajar switch won't work on passenger door to turn off the interior lights and leaves door ajar warning in dash on when driving. . . . Runs down battery. . . Has been happening since may 2023.
I have ran my VIN on multiple site and the dealership said the did their inspection on the vehicle. The VIN is showing that there is no recalls on this car. However we noticed things going wrong with the Edge. Even though we bought the car as is, this shouldn't be happening if they did things right. The back up camera saying to contact the dealership, we have to go into the settings and switch from park to drive to somewhat fix the problem. The sync and myford touch has been update as of last week, to 3. 10. However the system will switch songs, inputs and even go into the settings while the vehicle is on; without anyone touching the screen. The dealership has told me that they put in a new battery and that everything is fine when we bought it. Its not making any sense, I dont believe that they did the inspection the correct way or they wouldve noticed the issues and wouldve been resolved. I have even went so far as to take it to the dealer and show him but of course my car decided to work in that moment, until I left.
All 4 door ajar sensor are not showing that the doors are close which does not allow you to lock ,which also cause the battery to be drained due to the interior lights remaining powerd as if the doors are open !!!!! this is a personal saftey issue for children and adults ,and a theft issue due to locks not locking !!!!!!!!!!! 500. 00 dollars a door is insane for a stupid design !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ford needs to fix this at their expense irregardless of age or miles or number of owners for these vehicles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! get it fixed !!!!.
On my way to work early morning dark outside the water pump which is timing chain driving failed fluid poured out causing smoke and hard to see out the windshield causing me to have to pull to the side of the road not able to safely see, dark road no traffic 30 miles away from home mechanic told me 3000. 00 $ to fix the problem Ford should of never built a vehicle like this knowingly that the water pump was not accessible you have to tear the whole engine down, I owe more on the car then what it's worth and to fix the vehicle it would even cost me more then what it is worth. Now I'm making payments on a car that I can not drive.
To whom it may concern, I urgently report a critical safety issue with my 2013 Ford Edge that poses significant risks to driver and passenger safety. The door locking mechanism has malfunctioned, making it unresponsive to any switches inside or outside the vehicle. This prevents access or swift exit during emergencies, jeopardizing lives. Despite the door being securely closed, a false warning light indicates that the door is ajar. Opening the door from inside has become difficult due to a faulty interior handle, and the auto-locking system engages immediately upon manual opening, hindering quick exit. This issue has been reported on forums, and it appears that some dealerships are aware of the problem; however, the fix is reported to be costly. Such safety concerns demand immediate attention to avoid potential accidents and injuries. I request a thorough inspection of the malfunctioning component and urge for an urgent resolution. I also call for Ford's comprehensive investigation and prompt action to ensure driver safety. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to the failure. Please take immediate action to rectify this safety concern and safeguard lives on the road. Sincerely, bob chiappetta 847-207-9564.
The driver side passenger "door ajar" sensor stays on constantly and is unsafe because we aren't sure if the door is truly open or not? we are scared to have passengers sit on that side of the vehicle for fear of the door flying open and causing injury by falling out or other injury because the sensor does not tell us accurately as to whether the door is truly closed all the way or not. It also drains the battery over time due to constantly being on. This problem has been going on for 2 years. We had it looked at by a mechanic. We were told they can replace the sensor, but it would likely go out again because this is a manufacturer defect, and a well known problem for Ford Edges as well as other Ford models, but they refuse to issue a recall. This is extremely unsafe. The other safety concern I have is the need for a recall on our VIN specific rear view camera. The screen went blank and then, when it came back on, the image is flipped upside down and has vertical lines across the screen making it extremely difficult to see. This is a crucial component to safety. This happened approximately 1 year ago. This is extremely unsafe as we can back over and kill someone if we don't go super slow and intensely observe the camera while in reverse. This is even more dangerous in poorly lit places. There were no warnings or sensors indicating a problem with the camera. It just went blank and then permanently flipped the image upside down.
My issue is that there is a door ajar alarm that I brought my vehicle into the dealer to fix. With this alarm you are unable to lock your doors while inside the vehicle. Someone tried to steal our vehicle from us with us inside, just walked up and opened the door. The attempt was unsuccessful and we got away but it had me thinking that if we had small children in our vehicle, they could easily open the door and fall out. The dealer said this is a known issue and it would cost over $500 to fix but recommended not fixing it because it would just happen again, it's a bad part/design they said. I did call Ford motor company and they advised me to report this to you so I'm reporting this before someone gets killed from this known issue.
This is in regards to recall # 14s10 (Ford) and NHTSA # 14v393000. I was driving my 2013 Ford Edge when turning there was a pop, and vehicle would not engage into any gear causing an extreme safety issue. After being towed, it was noted that the intermediate shaft was broke and sheared the gears off. This is a very uncommon finding. We contacted Ford and was told there was not a recall on this vehicle. Therefore, we replaced, through Ford, the intermediate shaft and 2 new cv axles (ordered through a parts store). Once repairs were completed, the cv axle seal leaked and was also replaced. It started shaking upon acceleration. We then replaced the motor mounts and struts in an attempt to fix the problem. We also put another cv axle on passenger side at that time. At this point, after speaking to several different professionals regarding our problem, we were then informed that there was a recall for this very problem on 2013 Edge. We contacted Ford again and gave them the recall numbers. They then agreed that the recall should have included this vehicle but that our particular VIN number was not included in the initial recall. We were advised by Ford to bring the vehicle in and let them inspect it. After inspection, they found that when the intermediate shaft went out, it damaged the transmission. They also stated that looking into the history of this vehicle, this is not the first time for this problem with this particular Edge. They stated this should've been included in the original recall as this is the exact reason for the recall. We were advised to contact you with this complaint so that this Edge with VIN number can be added to the recall and fixed accordingly. This Edge is currently at the Ford dealer awaiting your response. I implore you to consider adding this VIN # to the original recall. The Ford dealer is in agreement that this is the exact reason for the recall. Thankfully, no one was injured during the initial incident which could have been serious.
I had my brakes repaired and since having my brakes repaired, I continued to have issues with the suspension, vehicle handling and imbalance (vehicle not stopping properly). I was dropping my friend girl's grandsons off at school and my brakes went out. . . Almost causing me to have a head on collision with the vehicle in front of me. I was overwhelmed and hysterical! I had taken my vehicle back to the repair shop that replaced my brakes and I tried to explain what happened. I was bewildered because my vehicle didn't have any warning messages of any sort. I remember riding over some bumpy streets and when the traffic slowed down, I pressed my brakes and they were gone. I had to press the brake pedal all the way down to the floor and I wasn't getting any pressure through the brake line at all, which caused me to almost run into the vehicle in front of me. When I pressed the brake to the floor, my vehicle slid rapidly and made a strange noise before I was able to come to a complete stop. We were terrified because I had ran into the curb trying to stop my vehicle! the repair shop mechanic stated that it could be the caliber connected to the brake line, because my vehicle did not have sweaking noises that you usually hear when your brakes need to be replaced. My vehicle is still in need of repairs, I'm afraid while driving it still. I'm bewildered because I honestly don't know what caused my brakes to just go out like that!.
I bought my car used from dealership when I was about to have my baby. SUV was fine up until a few months ago. I was driving and my break pedal was making a squeeking, squealing sound everytime my foot was on the pedal. No matter what it made that noise entire time while driving day in and out. The break pedal would either be very loose to the floor or either it would be so hard I could not push it down. Ive only had vehicle 5 yrs and just replaced breaks. Now I have to use both feet to push down on break pedal to stop. My child isn't safe so I drive slow everywhere now. Mechanic who did break pads said it was the booster going out. Said Ford has so many problems and issues happening with breaks/booster/master cylender. I am a single mom who does not have money for costly repairs like this. I just paid off in full this vehicle and now thinking I could have used that money now for this problem. My vehicle is only 9 yrs old. I need a miracle. This should be taken care of by Ford and a recall issued for break issues including booster and master cyinder.
