All 4 door ajar sensor are not showing that the doors are close which does not allow you to lock ,which also cause the battery to be drained due to the interior lights remaining powerd as if the doors are open !!!!! this is a personal saftey issue for children and adults ,and a theft issue due to locks not locking !!!!!!!!!!! 500. 00 dollars a door is insane for a stupid design !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ford needs to fix this at their expense irregardless of age or miles or number of owners for these vehicles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! get it fixed !!!!.

On my way to work early morning dark outside the water pump which is timing chain driving failed fluid poured out causing smoke and hard to see out the windshield causing me to have to pull to the side of the road not able to safely see, dark road no traffic 30 miles away from home mechanic told me 3000. 00 $ to fix the problem Ford should of never built a vehicle like this knowingly that the water pump was not accessible you have to tear the whole engine down, I owe more on the car then what it's worth and to fix the vehicle it would even cost me more then what it is worth. Now I'm making payments on a car that I can not drive.

The driver side passenger "door ajar" sensor stays on constantly and is unsafe because we aren't sure if the door is truly open or not? we are scared to have passengers sit on that side of the vehicle for fear of the door flying open and causing injury by falling out or other injury because the sensor does not tell us accurately as to whether the door is truly closed all the way or not. It also drains the battery over time due to constantly being on. This problem has been going on for 2 years. We had it looked at by a mechanic. We were told they can replace the sensor, but it would likely go out again because this is a manufacturer defect, and a well known problem for Ford Edges as well as other Ford models, but they refuse to issue a recall. This is extremely unsafe. The other safety concern I have is the need for a recall on our VIN specific rear view camera. The screen went blank and then, when it came back on, the image is flipped upside down and has vertical lines across the screen making it extremely difficult to see. This is a crucial component to safety. This happened approximately 1 year ago. This is extremely unsafe as we can back over and kill someone if we don't go super slow and intensely observe the camera while in reverse. This is even more dangerous in poorly lit places. There were no warnings or sensors indicating a problem with the camera. It just went blank and then permanently flipped the image upside down.

My issue is that there is a door ajar alarm that I brought my vehicle into the dealer to fix. With this alarm you are unable to lock your doors while inside the vehicle. Someone tried to steal our vehicle from us with us inside, just walked up and opened the door. The attempt was unsuccessful and we got away but it had me thinking that if we had small children in our vehicle, they could easily open the door and fall out. The dealer said this is a known issue and it would cost over $500 to fix but recommended not fixing it because it would just happen again, it's a bad part/design they said. I did call Ford motor company and they advised me to report this to you so I'm reporting this before someone gets killed from this known issue.

This is in regards to recall # 14s10 (Ford) and NHTSA # 14v393000. I was driving my 2013 Ford Edge when turning there was a pop, and vehicle would not engage into any gear causing an extreme safety issue. After being towed, it was noted that the intermediate shaft was broke and sheared the gears off. This is a very uncommon finding. We contacted Ford and was told there was not a recall on this vehicle. Therefore, we replaced, through Ford, the intermediate shaft and 2 new cv axles (ordered through a parts store). Once repairs were completed, the cv axle seal leaked and was also replaced. It started shaking upon acceleration. We then replaced the motor mounts and struts in an attempt to fix the problem. We also put another cv axle on passenger side at that time. At this point, after speaking to several different professionals regarding our problem, we were then informed that there was a recall for this very problem on 2013 Edge. We contacted Ford again and gave them the recall numbers. They then agreed that the recall should have included this vehicle but that our particular VIN number was not included in the initial recall. We were advised by Ford to bring the vehicle in and let them inspect it. After inspection, they found that when the intermediate shaft went out, it damaged the transmission. They also stated that looking into the history of this vehicle, this is not the first time for this problem with this particular Edge. They stated this should've been included in the original recall as this is the exact reason for the recall. We were advised to contact you with this complaint so that this Edge with VIN number can be added to the recall and fixed accordingly. This Edge is currently at the Ford dealer awaiting your response. I implore you to consider adding this VIN # to the original recall. The Ford dealer is in agreement that this is the exact reason for the recall. Thankfully, no one was injured during the initial incident which could have been serious.

I had my brakes repaired and since having my brakes repaired, I continued to have issues with the suspension, vehicle handling and imbalance (vehicle not stopping properly). I was dropping my friend girl's grandsons off at school and my brakes went out. . . Almost causing me to have a head on collision with the vehicle in front of me. I was overwhelmed and hysterical! I had taken my vehicle back to the repair shop that replaced my brakes and I tried to explain what happened. I was bewildered because my vehicle didn't have any warning messages of any sort. I remember riding over some bumpy streets and when the traffic slowed down, I pressed my brakes and they were gone. I had to press the brake pedal all the way down to the floor and I wasn't getting any pressure through the brake line at all, which caused me to almost run into the vehicle in front of me. When I pressed the brake to the floor, my vehicle slid rapidly and made a strange noise before I was able to come to a complete stop. We were terrified because I had ran into the curb trying to stop my vehicle! the repair shop mechanic stated that it could be the caliber connected to the brake line, because my vehicle did not have sweaking noises that you usually hear when your brakes need to be replaced. My vehicle is still in need of repairs, I'm afraid while driving it still. I'm bewildered because I honestly don't know what caused my brakes to just go out like that!.

I bought my car used from dealership when I was about to have my baby. SUV was fine up until a few months ago. I was driving and my break pedal was making a squeeking, squealing sound everytime my foot was on the pedal. No matter what it made that noise entire time while driving day in and out. The break pedal would either be very loose to the floor or either it would be so hard I could not push it down. Ive only had vehicle 5 yrs and just replaced breaks. Now I have to use both feet to push down on break pedal to stop. My child isn't safe so I drive slow everywhere now. Mechanic who did break pads said it was the booster going out. Said Ford has so many problems and issues happening with breaks/booster/master cylender. I am a single mom who does not have money for costly repairs like this. I just paid off in full this vehicle and now thinking I could have used that money now for this problem. My vehicle is only 9 yrs old. I need a miracle. This should be taken care of by Ford and a recall issued for break issues including booster and master cyinder.

The passenger door ajar light stays on and the door has opened on its on. This is a safety issue. The battery is going dead and we have to keep it on a trickle charger.

Panoramic sunroof broken, glass stuck open, paid to have it closed. Can not find a dealer or body shop willing to fix to re-open the sunroof.

Since July 1, 2022 my car has completely shut down, as of today, four different days (almost on a weekly basis). I am noticing, that when I am at a stop light/sign and then accelerate the car will shut down all electrical. I cruise to a stop, put the car in park, and start the engine, again. The wrench light will flash right before the car shuts down. The car has been doing this since at least October 2021. I have taken it to three different mechanics (including the Ford dealer mechanic in may, 2022) and no one can find anything wrong with the car. I took the car last week to replace the coolant pump at the santa monica Ford and they couldn't find anything else wrong with the car (again). So far, I've been lucky. This has only occurred on city streets and I have been able to pull the car over to the right to start the engine. I have only been driving on the streets because I'm afraid it's going to shut down in the middle of the freeway and cause an accident. I search the internet and find that many people are having the same issue with this car model. Someone suggested it could be the throttle body, so I had that cleaned in October, 2021, but the trouble came back. Help!!!!.

The component involved was the throttle body. Late post but this happened 7/5/22. The vehicle unexpectedly (and without any warning) lost power while I was driving on the freeway. All the power was off in the vehicle. Fortunately the freeway wasn't as crowded as it normally is and I was able to coast over the shoulder. I let the vehicle rest and tried to drive (while on the shoulder to get to a safer/wider part) again but it quickly lost power again. When I got to a safer part of the shoulder I called for a tow truck. After having a previous issue with this vehicle (brake booster went bad which caused the brake pedal to get hard to press and car would also shut off) I looked into other common issue with this vehicle make and model. I read the other horror stories of this vehicle losing power while driving and hoped to you know who that this wouldn't happen to me while my child was with me. Ford had a recall for the brake booster issue but it didn't match my VIN. Apparently Ford supposedly narrowed the issue down to a few manufacturing sites and did not include all vehicles made during those years. It is clearly a systemic issue for this vehicle, just like the throttle body issue ( and others) the Ford is too cheap to fix! I am going to assume this is the same issue with my throttle body not being recalled for my specific VIN since my vehicle wasn't made at a certain manufacturing site (even though Ford is clearly using the same parts on their vehicles). It's bs and dangerous! they don't care about us, just profits but that's really no surprise nowadays with these companies. Unfortunately I'm not in a position to switch vehicles or else I would. This was my first and probably last Ford I'll ever own.

My 2013 Ford Edge leaks a pinkish fluid. After taking it to two mechanics, they have determined the water pump is leaking onto the engine which could potentially cause a fire. The repair costs has been quoted at least $3,000. There have been over 100,000 reports of this failure for this vehicle. Why hasn't there been a recall?.

I had put a complaint for my 2013 Ford Edge regarding broken rails. For my sunroofs. No luck with that. Now my window is flew and broke, do I have no glass. Please help.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated while reversing out of her driveway at approximately 2 mph the vehicle engine made a loud grinding noise from under the vehicle. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stopped the vehicle and placed the vehicle into "drive" and returned the vehicle onto her driveway. The contact turned off the vehicle. The vehicle had not been taken to a dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired, however the contact's husband observed damage to the vehicle transfer case. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 14v393000 (power train). The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.

The sunroof rails guides broke and its not being hold by the rail guides. The broken pieces are just floating free. Feels like if I take highway the paranomic glass will swing open and cause an accident. Im really concern for my family or any passanger. I believe its a default from Ford for not being well engeneeeed.

The vehicle is not going into second gear. A pull onto a 40 mph road means a quick start but then the vehicle won't shift gears so needs to be pulled over quickly to not be in the way of coming traffic. It was inspected by family automatician but wrench light had turned off and stopped problem. Then happened again the next morning followed by wrench light later in the day. Not inspected, yet.

My 2013 Ford Edge has the sunroof rails broken . I think because they are made out of plastic. So the only thing holding the front of the glass is some wires to prevent it from the glass from catching air and catching air borne which will shatter the glass. Im really scare to take the freeway.

The contact stated while driving approximately 40mph when the contact smelled burned rubber, and upon inspection the contact noticed fire coming from the rear windshield wiper. The contact pulled over and fire marshals extinguished the fire. A police report was not taken and no one was injuried. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer and is awaiting diagnosis. The manufacturer was informed of failure and told the contact to call NHTSA. The failure mileage was 188,013.

Passenger side door latch will not engage.

Wrench light came on and car immediately completely lost power while driving, no acceleration, had to coast to Edge of street and turn car off. Waited a few minutes and restarted without incident. When investigating what this light was and what to do about it I found that this same issue has happened to many many people with a 2013 Edge. Could have been very dangerous had this happened while on the freeway driving at freeway speeds.

I only had my vehicle for four month and since I had it the car have not work properly as I'm driving up or down the road the car begin to lose power with a wrench light appears and somtimes the check engine light comes on which happened a dozen of times since I have had the car almost every time, iam in a very dangerous position to pull over on side of road which almost led to multiple accident with other cars going in the same direction as my car I have reach out the dealership and they can't tell me anything on whats wrong with my vehicle I'm so scare to drive it with my three kids in it with me cause this have happened way too many times already please help so this problem before someone get hurt or its to late. .

The door closer says door ajar when it is closed. It is on the front driver's side door. The dome light is constantly on running out the battery and my wife is not able to lock the doors!!! this is a major safety issue!! I found some info online about a lot of other Ford owners having the same issues and Ford doesn't think it's a big deal!!?? is it going to take someone getting seriously injured for this to be resolved? this is absolutely unacceptable!.

2013 Ford Edge with push button start models exhibits a shift to park message, displayed while the shifter is in park position and vehicle is stationary and parked. There has been a technical service bulletin issued on this 14 December 2017, but repair of shifter kit -park detect switch, 2011-2014 Edge is not covered as a recall issue even though it is a well known problem.

I have been having issues with the backup camera on this model. I replaced the camera and still having issues. A warning message is displayed and says contact dealer. I've recently noticed a recall on newer model Fords and wonder why there wasn't a recall on the later models since there is the same issue with the newer models.

Even though the door is closed, the door open signal is on and will stay on and I cannot lock the car. It was happening periodically, now it is consistent. After reviewing the NHTSA website, I noticed that 19n09 was issued and I never received the notice to bring the car in.

My backup camera continues to not work sometimes it shows upside down or black screen and says I need to contact the dealership. When I contact the place that I got it from it says it's not covered under their warranty in the contact Ford. When I contact Ford they said there was some rear backup camera thing going on and that the recall had not been issued yet?.

Camera backup does not work, the passenger door will not latch, so it is open and flew open while driving.

For no reason the glass sun roof on our 2013 Ford Edge exploded to day while driving on the hi way nothing hit the glass the sound mad me lose control for I few seconds I called Ford dealer to see if there was a recall they said no the car is out of warranty I see this is a problem with sun roofs from 2008 to now with Ford Edge and other auto.

My rear/backup camera is inoperative and doesn't engage properly. Also, my "check engine light" comes on ( and goes off) periodically; code "402" appears {emissions} issue!??.

Over a year ago my driver side door would be closed and my Edge would said door ajar leaving the lights on and me unable to lock my doors. After dropping a bunch of money the latch was replaced and has a warranty on it. My passenger door is now doing this and if my driver door has a warranty meaning whatever company is aware of this happening and covering it, I want my passenger door covered without me being out any money! it is hard times right now and any help would be great!.

Driving up hill this vehicle loss power and the transmission disengaged in the middle of traffic I let the roll backward into a driveway shut the switch off waited about five minutes. I restarted put in gear and it drove as though it had no problem.

The door latch on the rear door (driver's side) continues to show "door ajar". The dome light remains on because it reacts to the door being open. Dashboard tells you the door is not closed properly; it is closed. This has been happening for months, but I finally brought it to Ford when it was appropriate (due to covid restrictions) I have noticed that the dome light comes on, courtesy lights have come on, when I have been in the house and no one is near the car. On several occasions the battery has been dead in the morning with no apparent reason; it may be that the light is coming on because it thinks the car door is open because of the defective latch. The front door latch is being replaced under extended warranty; the rear door should also be covered for defective latch.

I'm always sure to lock my doors while driving because of the concern of an assailant entering while at a stop light. However, I'm unable to protect myself because my doors won't lock while the car is in drive. This is massive safety concern for my family and me. One should feel safe and protected while in their vehicle, especially a Ford vehicle. My dealership did confirm and replicate this issue.
