While driving the car approaching a stop the brake pedal suddenly went almost all the way to the floor. Had to press the brake multiple times to come to a complete stop. It is unsafe when traveling in traffic and unable to slow down fast enough to stop the vehicle which can cause an accident. The vehicle has not been inspected. Contacted a mechanic and described the issue and stated this sound like a master cylinder issue and it is unsafe to drive. This issue did not present warning lights or message to indicate there was anything wrong. We have read many similar complaints online. We believe Ford should fix this issue.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal sound coming from underneath the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed failures with the front axile and both front struts. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 177,000.
Unknown but the issue is that the vehicle is all over the road swaying back and forth. The steering is super loose. In other models of the same year it was found to be the toe linkage. Also the cross traffic sensor goes off when nothing is even close causing me to slam on brakes thinking something is back there.
While turning the vehicle to the left at slow speed the right ball joint failed (passenger side) including axel damage. The front passenger wheel turned freely to the right with the driver side wheel remaining straight. A sensation of front end falling apart was felt from the driver's seat. There were no symptoms of suspension failure prior to this event. No vibration at speed, no clunking, no unusual tire wear or pulling left or right issues. The car has 119542 miles at the time of failure. The vehicle was purchased used just prior to this at a Honda dealer with a extended warranty purchased at time of sale. Vehicle was serviced just prior to this failure with a water pump replaced under extended warranty.
Camera backup does not work, the passenger door will not latch, so it is open and flew open while driving.
Vehicle is extremely shaky and hard to handle. Also sometimes the advanced traction control warning light comes on in the anti-lock brakes engage while breaking normal lee.
Cars door says it's open while driving even when it's closed completely. Also wipers don't swipe up and down.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 14s393000 (suspension). The dealer performed the recall repair, but the vehicle shook, vibrated, and was extremely difficult to steer afterwards. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 37,116.
