Automatic Transmission problems of the 2014 Ford Edge

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving at 45 mph the vehicle deaccelerated speed rapidly not allowing the contact to accelerate, and the check engine warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact was able to pull over safely and allowed the vehicle to cool down. The contact restarted the vehicle and the vehicle operated normally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis, and they stated that no failure was found. The failure reoccurred and the vehicle was towed to the contact's home. The manufacturer was contacted, and they stated that no recall was under the VIN and advised to contact NHTSA. The failure mileage was 72,500.
