1 Brake Light On problem

Failure Date: 04/10/2021

While driving in new albany, indiana on Saturday, April 10, 2021, the brake lights all came on at once. My husband had me pull over into a parking spot and he said there was 0 brake fluid in the reservoir. He has worked on brakes as a mechanic his whole life (71 yo now) and said he had never seen anything like it. He drove to a very close gas station and got a can of brake fluid and when we got home he had his brother look under it while he pumped the brakes. Immediately noticed the hose was ruptured. Took it to heritage Ford in corydon, in which is the closest Ford dealiership to us. We found paperwork that was sent in sept. 2020 that said this was safety recall notice 20s42/NHTSA recall 20v-469. They called and said they will not pay for this. We called the main Ford corp. Phone number and they told us the same thing. Both the dealer and Ford corp. Say we must pay upfront and may be able to get our money back and there may be a form but all we got was a toll free number to Ford customer service and they do not answer the phone. This could have resulted in failure to brake or stop, causing injury or death as it was immediate without prior warning. They only replaced the passenger side and will not replace the passenger side. They did not check the brakes for further wear or damage. The recall notice, invoice, and proof of payment are attached. This is very dangerous and not right. Ford dealer and main corporate office have said "they don't know how they are going to handle this and that's why we have to pay upfront. " we want our money back to start with and want the other side repaired at their expense along with brake inspection. They also did not offer a courtesy vehicle although we asked repeatedly for one.

2 Brake Light On problem

Failure Date: 07/16/2020

On 7/16/2020 my 2017 Ford Edge experienced a loss of brakes while driving. The vehicle was was approaching a busy intersection when the failure occurred. The brake pedal went to the floor and the emergency brake had to be used to avoid a collision. The vehicles low brake fluid light came one and a large pool of fluid was coming from the front passenger wheel. The vehicle was tow back to my house and upon investigation the front passenger brake line had burst. There was no sign of prior damage or unusual wear. The vehicle has 63,000 miles.

3 Brake Light On problem

Failure Date: 02/19/2020

Tl the contact owns a 2017 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving at approximately 35 mph the brake pedal was depressed traveling to the floor board failing to stop the vehicle, as a result rear ending the vehicle in front causing it to collide with another vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. No vehicle occupants sustained injuries. The vehicle was not taken to dealer or local mechanic for a diagnostic testing. A police report was filed. The contact mentioned that the vehicle was taken to ravenel Ford (6340 savannah hwy, ravenel, SC 294700) approximately a month ago for brake issues.
