1 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/20/2026

My camera intermittently goes blank and car feel like it doesn’t stop properly today I was backing out of a driveway and camera went blank and caused me to back into a car that had pulled up I called my local Ford after I got the letters but they said I would receive a letter when they get the parts in !!.

2 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/02/2025

Please see attached letter.

3 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/07/2025

I turned my car on and a warning light of adaptive steering sensor came on. Then my steering wheel was not in the correct position while I was driving. I only have 80 thousand miles on this vehicle. I feel like this vehicle should have been included the recalls of the other 2017 Ford Edges. Adaptive steering issues. Please add my VIN # to the recall so I can fix this. I’m afraid to drive it now. Thank you for your time with this problem. I can’t afford to fix this. I was told it would cost close to 4000 dollars.

4 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2025

When I am putting my vehicle in reverse the camera at times has blacked out froze or even turned a weird color with lines on the screen I know there was recall for this but my VIN was not included.

5 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/17/2024

My vehicle has a dash light warning for service that says "limited park brake function, service vehicle" and then applies my parking break on its own. I have at times be unable to get the parking brake to release and will have to start and stop my vehicle numerous times before it will accept me releasing the parking brake.

6 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/28/2023

Under acceleration the vehicle will sometimes enter into limp mode. Vehicle will violently brake and come to a halt and the driver can only accelerate up to +/-5mph to be able to pull off to the side of the road. The deceleration when this happens is sudden and violent. During this event the steering wheel is difficult to turn. All dash warning and fault lights flash during the malfunction. You have to pull over, shut the vehicle off, and then restart. This has happened with our two kids in the vehicle while merging onto a freeway. I have brought it to Ford 4 times. The first time they said a harness was loose and they fixed it. Other times they blamed my use of a narrower diameter winter tire, but it happens with the stock wheels as well. The malfunction continues to happen. They have not been able to duplicate the issue, so they asked me to drive around with a obd2 scanner attached. When the malfunction happens, no error codes are reported. The Ford technician said that if it were their vehicle, they would not drive it with their children in the car. Ford has had the vehicle for almost a month now and have requested we pick it up because they cannot duplicate the malfunction and have suggested that I drive until it happens again, which is pointless as the malfunction does not trigger an error code. My wife refuses to drive the car, especially with our children in it. I have talked to Ford corporate, and they said they would escalate, but now they are not returning my emails or answering their phones. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. It may be helpful to know that when I first started bringing the vehicle in for this malfunction, it was still 100% under warranty. Thank you.

7 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/19/2022

My car loses power when I press the gas. For example, I can come to a stop, wait until it’s safe to turn in front of another car, then try to take off — but the vehicle suddenly loses all power. It won’t accelerate, and I have to keep pressing the gas and hope it goes. Sometimes I have to pull over, put it in park, turn the car off, and restart it before it will drive again. This also happens on the freeway. When this issue happens, the car also shifts very hard afterward, causing it to jump forward. This makes the vehicle extremely unsafe — especially when I am trying to turn in front of cars moving at high speed and my car suddenly loses all power. I have taken the vehicle in five times for the same issue, but the Ford dealership has not been able to repair it. I have also called Ford’s corporate office, but they said they cannot help. I opened a case with the bbb as well, and they advised me to open a case with you. At this point, I am at a complete loss with this issue. I travel with my two kids in the car, and I am honestly afraid to drive it — but I have no other vehicle.

8 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/11/2022

Drove for two weeks, check engine light comes on. Dealership says coolant is leaking on engine & it needs replaced. Vehicle is not safe to drive until engine is replaced. Owned the car 5 months now & only got to drive it two weeks.

9 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/27/2022

I have on my car for about a year now and when I first received it about a month into it I noticed this first issue. I would be driving and all the sudden I would loose acceleration. All dash lights that could come on did. This includes blis system failure. Transmission failure. Engine coolant temp failure. Traction control failure. Etc etc. The vehicle enters a limp mode I believe, and in doing so it very harshly shifts down through the transmission gears as I am slowing down. This happened a second time a month after the first incident as I was entering a highway between a bridge where I only had half my car width of space to pull over on both sides. In a blind bend, in a very dangerous place to pull over. I switched to 93 octane in hopes this would fix the issue, and for 6-8 months I haven't had that issue again. Until yesterday. I went to try to pass somebody in a passing zone when my vehicle did exactly as listed above. At this point I firmly believe it has something to do with the ecu, the brains of the car as I think this is the only thing that can tie all the errors together (it’s literally every warning I can think of). Ive taken it to Ford twice now for this issue, and will be inquiring about this again when I get my inspection on Saturday. They stated there is absolutely no data that points them anywhere when they check the stored codes. Even though there was a check engine light. This even further leads me to believe its an ecu issue, as it maybe errors out and is unable to store any codes. Over all its a serious safety issue that no Ford dealer is able to diagnose for me. Googling leads me to the Fordedgeforum where other people are experiencing the same issue but without a full solution as its such an intermediate problem and cannot be easily duplicated.

10 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2022

I am told my apim module needs to be replaced. My touch screen will go black and then come back on. I am unable to use handsfree phone due to system not staying connected to my bluetooth. The radio will not turn off or on and sometimes will come on and be blaring while driving. The gps does not work at all and if it decides to even show up on the screen will not follow streets at all. The warning sounds and lights will go off randomly while driving even if I am not close to something on the sides of my car. My backup cameras do not work all the time. The cruise control will not keep distance and will stop working randomly. The entire touch screen will not respond to any touch. These items are very distracting and unsafe at best. There has been no accidents to cause these problems. The manufacturer has not been able to help me locate any replacement parts despite pre-paying for the expensive module. I have been waiting 6 weeks without anyone being able to tell me when a module is expected. Meanwhile I do not know what else will stop working on my car. Ford has had a history of problems with the apim modules and there was even a class action suit that was won by the consumer for the same thing in Lincoln vehicles. I just want the part and for my car to be fixed.

11 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/08/2021

The back up camera does not operate when the weather is very cold and the car has not warmed up. The camera does not come on at all when backing up. I took car to the dealership and showed them photos from the last 2 occurrences, so dealer kept the car overnight but claimed that they were unable to reproduce the problem and that no diagnostic codes were seen. I have photos to prove that the camera is malfunctioning, but yet they refuse to replace since they claim Ford will not allow them. If the backup camera is a safety feature, then why aren't they correcting the problem? it failed again the following morning after I had it at the dealer.

12 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/07/2021

Front brake lines damage and now the back brake lines damage the same way front was. No no indicator that' this happens, the breaks just go to the floor, huge safety issues.

16 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/27/2018

I purchased this car new with 10 miles driven only 14 months ago. At 3100 miles it lost all electric/electronic/engine power as I was traveling approximately 40 miles on a city street with traffic! the engine light, service wrench light and dinging sounds flashed; the vehicle decreased in speed, and shut down, making it difficult to steer. Fortunately, I was able to coast off the street into an open driveway prior to its complete stop of the vehicle from loss of all power! then there were absolutely no power; ignition would not start; no lights, no power of any kind. After calling Ford service hotline, and about 2. 5 hours waiting for a tow truck in the hot heat, I tried the ignition - the power was back. Nevertheless, the vehicle was towed to Ford dealership where purchased. The next day their diagnostics and two test drives found no problems with the vehicle. I informed the service manager at wyatt johnson Ford, just because they were unable to find a problem, doesn't negate the fact that something is definitely wrong with the vehicle to stop abruptly as it did; like a computer shutting down completely. I do not feel comfortable driving this vehicle knowing this could happen again with dire consequences and want to report this hazardous problem to inform the public accordingly! there are no pictures to accompany this complaint. I await some information on this vehicle. There have been several people who shared similar problems with Ford, Nissan and other vehicles. I need to know what will be done to correct this problem further. Thank you.

17 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2018

Vehicle was parked and off. We loaded all luggage into the car and closed the doors. Both keys were in the diaper bag. The automatic door locks engaged and we had no way to get into our car or call for help, as our phones were in the car. This type of door lock does not require you to push the fob button. You just have to touch the door handle while keys are in your possession. But the car is not supposed to lock if the key is within the vehicle. We had to call aaa to get the door unlocked. Fortunately our infant and dogs had not been loaded yet. This is the second time the locks have engaged in their own while the key is in the car. Also of note; the doors display a small red led when locked normally. The red light was not illuminated when this happened, which makes me believe there was an electrical issue/malfunction.

18 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/30/2018

After completing a turn and accelerating to merge into traffic, the vehicle suddenly slammed on its brakes and cut off the accelerator pedal. Every time I tried to accelerate, it would slam violently on the brakes again. As this was happening, all driver assistance warning icons were intermittently flashing on the instrument panel I coasted to the side of the road, engaged park, shut off the vehicle and restarted and it was working fine. I had the dealership look at it and they claimed it was a loose electrical connection that caused it. A few months later, the same thing happened again. This is extremely disconcerting, and in my opinion extremely dangerous. Thankfully in either incident my toddler son was not in the vehicle.

19 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/10/2017

My automatic door locks are flickering going down the road and sitting in the driveway. No one has the key faub pressing on it or anything.
