3 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2021 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 08/28/2025

I bought a cpo 2021 Ford Edge titanium from lasco Ford of fenton mi. When purchasing the vehicle the salesperson repeatedly kept saying the car was clean with a clean car fax checked out by their mechanics but did not tell me the vehicle has an open safety recall which me and my wife weren’t told or seen on the car fax not to mention the car broke down right away after we left the dealership at 9:30 at night after closing which in michigan selling a cpo vehicle with an open safety recall and not telling us is illegal if they checked the VIN prior to selling is the vehicle they would have known. I felt that they misled me on the car also doing everything they can to not let me test drive it.

6 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2017 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 08/20/2024

Service engine light came on, it was taken to an independent service center. The code was a "misfire" to cylinder 3. When the spark plug was removed, it was wet with coolant. This means coolant is in my engine which can cause irreparable damage to my engine. It is over $9k for me to fix. This is a devastating design flaw. Also, the backup camera freezes, and the backup warning sytem stops when the camera freezes, which can cause an accident.

7 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2017 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 07/16/2024

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Edge. The contact received notifications of NHTSA campaign numbers: 25v544000 (service brakes, hydraulics) and 25v572000 (back over prevention); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The contact stated that on several occasions, the rear-view camera fail to operate while needed or would randomly function while not needed. The local dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available for the recall repairs. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. In addition, the contact stated that the lane departure: blind spot detection feature occasionally failed to alert of approaching vehicles in the blind spot, which nearly caused a crash while driving on the highway. The manufacturer was made aware of the issues. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 93,000.

10 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2011 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 08/23/2023

13n02 – extended warranty coverage on brake booster – 2010-2013 Ford Edge & Lincoln mkx. My break booster required repair and when I went to the dealership and called Ford they stated that the vehicle had to have less than 150,000 miles and it is not 10 years old which ever comes 1st. The break boosters are starting to fail on cars with less than 150,000 miles, but older than 10 years. This is causing a driving hazard as the breaks went out while driving.

11 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2020 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 12/30/2022

Vehicle has never had a trailer attached ever and randomly while driving the vehicle said trailer connected and disabled all safety features while I was driving. Then while driving it would say trailer disconnected and shortly after the trailer connected message would pop buck up and start all over again. This all happened on 1 drive without shutting off the vehicle and happened roughly 10 times throughout my drive. Vehicle currently has 18755 miles on it. The trailer pin connector port has never been opened and I have owned this car since day one.

I got in a accident on 12/24/2020. Certain features did not work to aware me of an collision. The car was totaled and my life changed due the injuries I sustained. Then I got recall information for this car and another I purchased a month or two after around February or March.

14 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2014 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 12/14/2020

Bought vehicle approx 1. 5 years ago from a Chrysler dealer with 28000 miles. Presently about 46000 miles. While driving at city speed, came to a red light and started smelling this odor of burnt differential fluid or rotten egg smell. Immediately called dealer and made appt, for following day. We were told it was not the catalytic converter (which we thought it was and under warranty), but it was the cpu unit. We were also told it would cost us $3000. 00 . The warranty on the unit is 5 years or 60000 miles. Whichever comes first. How could this happen on a unit that normally lasts a lifetime. Especially at 46000 miles. We did some research because dealer said they cannot warranty or even check with manufacture on warranty. We found that this is a common defect with the 2014 Ford Edge anf Ford knows the issye and will not do anything to recall or repair any of these issues. We dont have $3000 dollars to repair the issue but am disappointed that we have to make a known repair on a vehicle boutght a year and a half ago that should not happen. There have been news reports on tv about this particular issue on its safety . Https://bc. Ctvnews. Ca/mobile/Ford-owner-fears-for-her-safety-after-serious-car-malfunction-1. 3139692 . Please advise and check this news report. Right now this vehicle we spent $22000 thousand is parked and cannot be driven because it's too dangerous.
