My check engine light came on spent 500 dollars to have spark plugs and ignition coil replaced. Then not even 2 weeks later check engine is on again same issue again. Apparently break fluid is leaking due to a recall, but there is no fix for this problem. And I want my money back for what was fixed due to it being there problem.

First the master cylinder went, then the brake booster and now the hydrolic control unit. Eachpart more expensive thenthe last and the last being 2119. 20 to repair. The entire braking system, parts I was told should not break. I have been told, by a reputable mechanic that often when replacing the brake booster, the lines are improperly bled andair gets into the hydraulic system. Upon farther research on line into the issue, there are page after page of the same complaint.

Brake booster recall symptoms described in publicized notices, including on this website, are what I am currently experiencing on my Ford Edge. Car takes longer to stop and braking system feels soft. Additionally, the advancetrac warning system light illuminates on occasion when car is in park for 10-20 minutes without moving, with engine running. Per the Ford forum, this is a common problem that does not seem to have a solution from Ford. I have lost confidence the Ford is interested or able to remedy either of these issues. I am afraid to drive it now that braking issue started today.
Tl- the contact's aunt owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving 20 mph, when the transition warning light was illuminated and the vehicle began to decelerate it's speed. The contact was able to park on the side of the road and turn off the ignition. The contact stated when restarting the ignition the waring light turned off. The vehicle was taken to local dealer koons Ford Lincoln of annapolis located at 2540 riva rd, annapolis, MD 21401, (410) 224-2100 and was unable to duplicated the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired as of yet. The manufacturer had not been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 131, 995. Dp.
Makes nosies when going over bumps and abs and suspension lights come on when this happen.

I went to the dealership where I bought my 2017 silver Ford Edge, because on 5/8/2020 the engine icon came up on my dash. So I immediately stopped at the local jarett Ford dealership in lakeland, FL, thinking it just needed an oil change. After I got this done, the engine icon never went and I began to experience my vehicle shaking and it also began heating up. This happened in 3 different occasions, with a red warning message on my dash of the precaution I should take to avoid overheating. Each time I immediately stopped the vehicle, waited for it to cool down, and added coolant to the radiator coolant tank. I went to elder Ford of tampa, FL, where I bought my vehicle and the service manager, terry was completely oblivious as to who NHTSA is as well as no idea of the customer satisfaction program. As I went to drive away my vehicle, now it did not want to start. Frank tried to see if it was a battery issue and tried jump starting it but it had nothing to do with the battery. By god's miracle my vehicle suddenly turned on and by his mercies I was able to arrive at my house. Now, I cannot get to work and are stuck because they say that there is nothing they can do because my warranty is over. I need to know if you can help me resolve this matter that is not my fault. I am very concerned that they have no idea as to what NHTSA is nor your customer satisfaction program. I will appreciate someone helping me, or pointing me in the right direction.
Vehicle door ajar warning light appears on dash as a bright red warning when door is actually closed. Loud beeping warning sound continually sounds off while driving, causing a distraction making unsafe to drive. Driver ignores other warning banners and alerts because this "door ajar alert" is constantly on and ringing. The driver and passengers are in danger because the saftey automatic door locks dk not lock while driving. The driver cannot lock doors with key fob because the door sensor shows the door is ajar. Dome lights are constantly on while driving make it very difficult driving at night, impeding sight of street signs, street maintenance workers, other vehicles, and pedestrians.
Speedometer dropped to 0 wrench light came on car had almost no power made loud noise then airbag light came on and tire pressure warning.

My braking system is malfunctioning while driving. It first appeared when the brake booster went bad on or around 2/6/2020 which I was never notified of by Ford as being a known problem so I had it replaced. Immediately after replacing that part on 2/9/2020 the brakes began to engage and stay engage while driving without depressing the brake pedal. This happened twice and the brakes would disengage once the vehicle was off for hours. Now on my way to the dealer 2/19/2020 my brakes were unresponsive and the brake pedal was soft and went all the way to the floor barely stopping the vehicle. This issue I was told by the dealer was due to my hydraulic control module going bad. Seem coincidental that this coincided with the booster going bad and no recall or extended warranty being offered for the known issue as I have read 100s of complaints of the same nature online. This is a tragedy waiting to happen and Ford doesn't seem to care.

While driving the vehicle on the interstate, three different times it suddenly, without warning, lost all power and shutdown the car. No power, lights, power steering, etc. I had to coast to a stop on a major interstate. Once I was stopped, turned off the car and it restarted like nothing happened. These events were very dangerous. Once was when it was raining so when the car lost power, the wipers stopped at 70 mph so I had to navigate to the shoulder without being able to see. A second time was at night driving 70 mph, when it shutdown, I lost headlights and I couldn't see. It was terrifying as I was in a remote area of I-49 without any lighting to navigate to the shoulder. Again, once stopped and put in park, it restarted immediately. Please note, I'm not the owner of this car. I was driving it as a loaner from a used car dealership. This problem was so serious I am reporting directly to the NHTSA as this car had no recalls to address. Someone is going to get injuries or die. I was terrified.

Got codes for no steering assist fault and no advance trac, meaning no power steering and no awd. There are recalls for this but was told, my car didn't apply because not made at the plants they were made. Took my car to a Ford dealership, had them look at it, after disconnecting battery for 10 minutes, both came back, but said rack and pinion was bad? my car just past the 36,000 miles in garage miles were 38804. This car only drives on paved roads, not all new paved but good roads. 'how can this be part be bad with just 2000 miles over coverage? why is it bad at this mileage? not happy to have to pay $2600. 00 to replace at such low millage? something was bad with this part from the start!!! if I have to replace this part and not covered by Ford plus my cost to I paid to have them lok at it. I will never buy another Ford, built tough my ass!!! plants.
2019 Ford Edge st - using parallel park assist feature, I followed prompts on screen, the car backed into another vehicle, damaging the right rear quarter-panel of the Edge. I had to take over and brake once I realized it was about to hit the other vehicle. No alerts or warnings appeared on the screen. The system shouldn't have continued with the parking steps if it "lost" its sensors on the space and should have sensed an object in the path. The vehicle also has transmission shifting issues around 25-30 mph. Nearly stalls before shifting into gear and accelerating. This happens 100% of the time driving in stop/go traffic, slow accelerating (not putting pedal to the floor), and driving city streets. Thick ice/condensation builds up on the interior side of the windshield when parked outside in a cold climate. Must be dried with a towel (towel will be soaked from the amount of water build-up) before car can be driven. Defrost does not solve the issue.

The front passenger door ajar light randomly comes on and stays on which keeps on the interior lights. Causing passengers to feel u safe as nd making it dangerous to drive at night and nearly impossible to back up. The parking lights come on and off a out of nowhere draining the battery which leaves it dead.
I purchased the vehicle from legacy of Toyota in tallahassee FL on 10/23/2019 then 2 weeks later my advance trac light came on it will come on as soon as start my engine up and it will stay on for a while then go out, then it will come back on may be a couple days later. I have noticed something different when I am a red light while my foot is on the brakes I feel my foot coming up like it is being released and I have to push it back down. I have only had my vehicle for 35 days. I'm looking all the complaints on the internet with them same issues as mine and kind of scared to drive it. My mind concern not only is it safe but how much it is going to cost me and can be fixable. Sometimes when I am just sitting there it sounds like it just want to cut off because it jerks. But my major concern is that advance trac warning sign that comes up can you help me.
Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Ford Edge while driving 45 mph making a turn the vehicle was spurting and jerking. The contact changed the sparks plugs and coils. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact noticed the coils were melted and busted. There were no warning lights illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 218,000. Ap.
Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, when the anti lock brake warning light was illuminated. The contact stated the cruise control failed to function. The contact stated when turning the steering wheel to the right, she heard an abnormal noise coming from the brakes. The vehicle was taken to local dealer pallotta Ford Lincoln located at 4199 cleveland rd, wooster, OH 44691, (330) 345-6600, where it was diagnosed needing both front axle and front stab links to be replaced. The vehicle has not been repaired as of yet. The manufacturer has not been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 161,500. The VIN number was not available. Dp.
While driving the car 40 miles it completely died and the steering wheel locked up. I took the car in for diagnostic test and it came back nothing. The car was giving back to me and it had the warning flashing on the dash with the wrench . I took several pictures. Driving west on I-40 during rush hour traffic. I paid for this repair and see this exact same thing has happened. Several month later the brakes felt like I was pushing on a brick. I was unable to stop,. The Ford company has a recal on the brake boaster and I was told to pay 900. 00 and maybe some time they will include my 2013 Ford Edge. Sept 16 2019 , the check engine light is on. There is a recallfor the Ford Edge 2013 but again not mine I have a faulty purge valve . Ford is charging 349. 00 to put on a part that is again on recall. This part is also on the outside of the car.
The door ajar light intermittently stays on even when all doors are closed. The light stays illuminated while driving or stationary. It is now causing the car alarm to go off randomly at all hours. This is a safety concern to as the automatic door locking when putting the car in drives does not activate. I have read years of complaints on the Ford owner forums. It's time for Ford to issue a recall to fix the problem. It's obviously the door latch switch which costs $400. 00 to have replaced. Please help. My neighbors are very upset about being woken up at all hours, but I do not have $400. 00 to have the issues fixed. This has been happening on and off for over 2 years, ever since the odometer read over 50,000 miles.
"takata recall" I was driving my child to school in highway traffic, speeds of 55 mph. The car mileage indicators went blank, a wrench light came on and all power to car was lost during turning a curve on highway. Vehicle started making very loud popping noise and jerking the car. Turned car off after coming to a stop, restarted car, no warning lights, everything was normal except, when starting car, it made very loud noise as it was started, then as I placed in drive or reverse it moved the vehicle jerking an loud popping noise. The entire motor moved sideways when placed in gear an hood up. Also now it no longer works in low gear. Once placed on machine it gave code po720-722.
Vehicle was in motion for awhile, car was running okay until I came to a stoplight and then all of a sudden my car goes limp. My vehicle makes loud/hard clank noise. Loss of power, wrench light came on. Pulled over, loud/hard clank sound with every gear change p-2. Vehicle had displayed no issues prior to this. I am able to pull the car over, turn it off and take they key out of the ignition. Then the wrench light is off when I restart the car. Stays in low gear for a long time when I start to accelerate, and until vehicle eventually accelerates faster, other cars almost running into the back of my car since my car is not accelerating at a normal pace. I am greatly concerned about what appears to be a huge safety issue with this car. There are multiple complaints about the same issue to be found all over the internet. Ford needs to issue a recall and fix this ASAP before someone gets seriously hurt or is killed from the extreme loss of power the vehicle is suffering from when this occurs!.
Service advance trac light, hill start assist, traction control, wrench light, airbag light and break light all come one simultaneously. Gets stuck on parking break while in park and power steering goes out while driving. Spent over $700 with local for dealership trying to fix it. After it being in the shop the for 3 weeks the same thing started happening a few hours after pickup. The dealership claims that Ford knows about the issue but their isn't just a one all fix all. Other Ford models has had the same issues in the past and had recalls on them. Need this issue fixed!! it's been like this since the day that I purchased it (8/13/2019) from the big red kia in norman.
The wrench light and airbag lights were on. My speedometer wasn't working. Transmission was clunking. The powertrain (wrench) & service engine signals come on after experiencing loss of speed such as after a traffic light stop. We have to push down far on the gas pedal just to move and this is followed by rough shifting (makes a sudden jerk and loud thud sound). Everything goes back to normal for awhile when the vehicle is turned off; its like the car resets itself.
Passenger door ajar is on. The door is close. The light will not go off, and the dome lights stay on, until you drive for one minute, the dome lights go off, but door ajar stays on. My doors can't lock, when I'm driving, as long as the door ajar stays on. When I turn my car off, the dome lights stay on for 15 minutes, putting my battery in reserve. This is a safety hazard, because, small children in the back, could open the door, and also my battery will soon be going bad. I see a thousand of Ford Edge owners 2011-2015 have this same problem.
Driving on the highway suddenly speedometer/odometer stopped working, low tire pressure light came on and car acceleration dropped and it wouldn't respond to increased pressure on gas pedal. Car would not accelerate. Had to get off the highway. Car would only travel at a very low speed. Made my way to a parking lot and shut the car off. Shifting into any gear (reverse, drive etc. ) caused the car to jump/shake and make a loud noise. After a while it resolved itself. Took the car to a Ford dealership. They checked it out, could find no issue (incidental finding - car needed battery). Battery was replaced, picked up car and resumed driving the car. Within a week was driving on the highway (second time since picking the car up) and had the same thing happen. Driving on highway and suddenly see the speedometer/odometer stop working, low tire pressure light and lose ability to control acceleration of vehicle. Had to get off the highway, car wouldn't travel at anything other than very low speed, jerked when shifted etc. This has happened twice and when looking it up online I can see it has happened to many with this model/year. It is very dangerous to suddenly lose the ability to control acceleration. Why has this not been addressed with a recall. It seems to occur once the car reaches close to 100k miles. Can't help but wonder why dealership is not aware but I can find reams of documented issues online. Fyi - this car is primarily driven by my 19 year old son and both incidences occurred when he was driving.
I was driving my vehicle in rush hour traffic and it displayed a wrench symbol and went into limp mode. Due to the car slowing down, I had issues getting to the side of the highway. I had it towed to the dealer after 8 days they said it was the electrical signal to the throttle body. The manufacture has issued a recall on some models but not all and refuse to cover the repair even though it is a known issue. If the is a mandatory recall, they will have to cover this dangerous issue. Please consider issuing a full recall.
When driving down the highway for the 3rd time the traction control light came on and the car just started slowing down. When I turn the car off and back on it goes off, so far it has not come back on or happened happened again. When the happened the second time I got home turned the car off and the wipers came on. Not sure if that is related but it is unusual.
The pcm on my Ford Edge has went out for a second time after 5 years of having it fixed the first time. This issue is an on going issue that once again will cost over 1000 to replace and repair all the problems this has caused such as the computer itself all the spark plugs even though it is not time for this to be changed again the car was purchased with 95000 miles on it and within a month of having it the car shot the computer we replaced all the spark plugs coils and the computer thru a dealership and now the vehicle is at 123000 and once again it is time to replace all the parts again. This needs to be recalled due to the loss of power while driving when this issue first starts.
My Ford Edge shut down while driving down the road. It just shut off. You have to put it back in park in order to start it again. This happened while going to the in our town store. I am so relieved it was not while on the freeway. Had I been on the freeway, going at fast speeds, if the cars behind me were not paying attention I could have been hit, or worse killed. When I took it to the shop I found out that it is a known problem. It's technical service bulletin 15-0178, issued on Nov 2015. What I don't understand is why there's not a recall? is someone going to have do die first? attached is the service recall. I've contacted Ford, spoken with evergreen Ford in issaquah (where my car currently is) and filed a complaint with the attorney general here in washington state.
Vehicle displayed warning service advancetrac and braked in an extremely rough and unsafe manner. Vehicle would not accelerate then after over 2000 rpms. Dealership identified as potential issue with steering angle sensor.
Takata recall my passenger side "door ajar" light stays on at all times. This causes my battery to drain and prevents the car from locking. It also keeps the dome light on while driving which is a problem when driving at night. The doors will not lock which makes it very unsafe when in public - my children are in the car but it will not lock until it is driven for a distance. This does not help in a parking lot when car refuses to lock due to a bad sensor. Now, my driver's side door is starting to alert that it is ajar. Both doors are always closed. The driver's side door again, will not allow the car to lock and alerts me to shift my vehicle into park. This cycles 24 hours a day. My lights will randomly come on for no reason other than a bad sensor saying doors that are shut - are "ajar". This has left me on more than occasion with a dead battery. This most certainly is a safety issue concerding the doors are designed to lock automatically when driving - and they will not due to this problem. I will never buy another Ford again unless this is fixed. I am requesting this be recalled as it is a known problem. I was advised it could be fixed - but it will return. I do not have the funds as a single mother to do so. Please Ford - take care of this problem.
Vehicle initially would not accelerate beyond 10 mph then completely lost power in the middle of rush hour traffic. Local repair center reported issues with pcm and was unable to fix it. Sent it to a Ford dealer who confirmed issues with pcm that damaged the body throttle, 3 engine coils, and other parts. Had to replace pcm and parts damaged by it resulting in a $2894. 10 repair bill. The following day after repair, was again in the middle of rush hour traffic and the vehicle completely loss power again. This is a serious safety concern and based on research, a lot of people are experiencing the same thing. Ford need to recall this issue. I'm so thankful my child was not in the vehicle during these events.
I get ready to start my day as usual I go and start my vehicle (stationary) to warm it up, as I got ready to set the temperature in the SUV I noticed the bottom touch panel did not light up. So I pushed the button to turn off the heat that was blowing and it didnt turn off, I tried and again and nothing. Its to hot in texas with little children to have electrical problems that effect the air conditioning. I pushed other buttons to see if anything worked and still nothing, the hazard lights will not function nor will the electric windows. My family and I drove the vehicle to my destination afterwards I had the fuses tested they are good, but was told it is front interface control module. This is my only vehicle and hopefully a Ford dealership can give a better diagnosis than auto part store.
